Some new aspects have come to the game which includes catchable legendaries and of course they recently introduced raids which is a fantastic feature. All the best in your journey.

It was a limited item, I understand that people abandoned the game since 2018 so there are not many in the market.

I don't think you fully understand the "scope". We do not value items with $ first of all. We value them with RP or yen or breakdown. Also this was the first limited vanity in the game... 2014. Nobody is inflating the price because nearly no one owns it. There are less of this specific vanity in the game than the amount of fingers you have.
Edit: Just to enlighten you even further. When the Desu was in the gift shop it was only available as a "Colourable" vanity for a very short time before it changed. The reason for this is that it was never intended to be colourable. This and that one of the head developers gave an option for players who had the Colourable versions to exchange them for original White versions. Which even made the amount available less. Good luck finding one though.

So I don't believe your price to be fair or reasonable.The previous one that was available sold for 50billion confirmed. "Rare is an understatement" if you're a new player or don't have any older rare vanities to offer, obtaining this vanity would be nearly impossible.

Edit: Probably out of his control but this just shows that there should he some kind of safety mechanism to assist when something like this happens and to prevent the players that are left to carry the burden.

Thing is it seems that the "Ultra Rare" vanities that are released during Chinese New Year event are indeed Ultra rare. This could be due to a few factors. There is no confirmation that the rarity between different ultras are the same as the rates are unknown and possibly their rates could differ. During Lunar event obtaining the Lucky Red Envelopes is significantly harder than obtaining Pumpking bags.... and of course there are a variety of things to do. Raids, Tablets etc which occupies a lot of players and because of this.. less Envelopes are grinded from shrine. I would say that the demand for the temporal capes is not that high... but their supply is very low and because of this, their price is realistic to what it is right now. I do believe that the value of it is being manipulated by a few that have purchased the majority of them... but if the number of this vanity is as low as I think it to be, I can only see it rising from here. It's is indeed rare and even though you compare it to "Normal event" vanities that are 5+ years old... their numbers are still a LOT more. It would be smart to plan and save up for future investment opportunities like this. This is actually a good way for players to catch up to the wealth of players that have been around for years. Play it smart.

It's high because it's value is being manipulated by players who have bought the majority of them. Same thing happening with the zodiac outfit. That's just how it works. It will most probably drop in value after event as these hoarders will have to sell in order to obtain yen for next events.
Edit: Even though it was never intended to be colourable.. it would have been cool to keep it so. Maybe make it the first vanity to have 2 dye-able sections. The coat itself and the pin.

What are raids?
Raids aren't your typical Gym battles. This opponent is more difficult to defeat than most other Pokémon. Raids include different difficulty levels: level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4 and level 5.
Our developers had the idea of adding this mixed mode between Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raids.
The various effects that raids cause during challenges are all normal, because they follow the original game itself
For example, if after having maxed out your physical attack the raid activates the "heal pulse" effect, which resets all the statistics, rest assured, it's the same thing on scarlet and violet too.
So there's no point in crying because you can't do the raids, because that's the beauty of these challenges, they don't have to be too simple, it's up to us to ultimately understand how to defeat them and what type of tactics to use.stop crying, use your head a little.
There's no point in creating useless posts, just because you can't do the raids, I managed to do all 12 of them in solo matchmaking.
Also done with my secondary accounts, struggling a lot, but not because of the raids, but because of you who use Pokemon randomly without thinking about a minimal strategy.
I've even seen people use pokemon like steelix, excadrill and other fire or earth types against gyarados' raid.If you use a little brain, I'm sure you could do the raids without any problems. You don't need Pokemon with 5x31 stats, I've only used Pokemon with horrendous stats, and passed every single raid without any problem, even after several attempts in some, but I wrote the reason above.

There might be a counter to this. If they can give some kind of Title / Rank to veteran players ( Of course you'd need to achieve various tasks in order to obtain this title) you can then make use of this to find matches with players also having the title or at least players that meets your standard as opposed to newcomers. I get that they made the raids in a way that you can win them by using minimal stat mons in order for everyone to be able to participate... but that does not matter because you'd still join a room with a newcomer that has the required mons but unfortunately lacks the expertise or ability to contribute a good play to the room. Makes no sense for veterans to carry newcomers continuously.
Example: I had more success in raids by using Chinese rooms as opposed to others because let's face it. The majority of players are chinese and they're more clued up than most. This can also be said for shrine. It is absolutely hopeless trying to do a leaderboard run with randoms because the odds of joining a room with 3 other players that are up to par with your understanding / knowledge regarding the event is very unlikely. The majority of the Lucky Red Envelopes are generated by Friends / Teams joining together and not by randoms.

Make sure you are not using same pokemon including different evo lines and do not use the same items.

Yeh I think the raids are a great addition and really cool but like I would've expected maybe a limited vanity similar to the clown mask but for Lunar new year event. If this is the new means of getting future legends as oppose to running in the grass I'll keep my mouth shut xDD.

This is nothing compared to others luck. For example, Bearminator went >200k encounters for his Poliwag iirc, poor man. The only lucky staff member we have out there is @Revz. If he used his luck on lottery tickets instead of shinies he would be living as a king irl, but he has his priorities straight.
If he is able to win the lottery then he is the chosen one. Seriously... you are more likely to be born x20 000 times over with 11 fingers than winning the lottery. You have a better chance to get killed / eaten by a shark on land than winning the lottery.

To put things in perspective, the best chance you have to get the majority is by going to Solaceon Ruins, where 20 of them share a singular spot (multiple of them), so you're bound to get duplicates at some point, also something you might need to know it's that Unown encs aren't your normal single enc shunts, they have a low appear rate, so sometimes you have to do a lot of steps to get an encounter, in fact, I'd say that it's pretty common to go +100 steps without an encounter (even with Illuminate + Lure).
Continuing my longest shiny hunt history, i was shunting in Solaceon Ruins to obtain more letters. I guess I was collecting too many shinies so the game chose to give me 115.187 encounter shunt this time, all of which were single/double enc Unowns. After 115k Unowns i finally found another one, the aforementioned "A", and you know the worst part of it? By that point i already had two Shiny Unowns A's, it was like the game was laughing at me, had to accept defeat and caught my third blue A.Honestly if you are able to complete the unown alphabet you should get like a trophy or something.

This thread contains everything you need. Guides for the majority of content in the game.
I'll give you some pointers.
1) Complete your regions first.
2) Complete your pokedex.
3) Create Gym rerun teams. There is a guide that explains what Pokemon are needed for fast runs. This is necessary as most of your money will be generated through this method.
4) Once you generate yen you can invest in better PVE mons to enable you to basically deal with any content.
5) Berry farming is also a good way to generate yen.
6) Make use of the Global Trading link (GTL) as you can get mons for a decent price to help you complete the regions effortlessly.
7) If you decide to shiny hunt make sure to do thorough research on the mon you plan to hunt as some of them have moves that can hinder you from catching them in a sense of escaping, or self damaging moves or tricking you into killing it.
Anyways that's basically it. Enjoy 🙂
