I'll be trying to do something new this time around, and hopefully it goes smoothly. So what is the Champions League you may ask. This league will consist of 32 participants, these players will be divided into 8 groups with 4 players in each group. These players will be scheduled each week to battle one another, the top two players of each group will advance to the next round. We will end up with 16 players, it will then turn into a knock-out round where players will have to win to advance to the final round. After all that is said and done, we should end up with 8 players, these players will be placed in a double elimination bracket for the final round. The OU tier will be used for all matches. Detailed Explanation: [spoiler] Group Stages [spoiler] Once we have 32 players signed up, they will be divided into 8 groups. I will be using a random name generator to randomly place each participant in a group, blame your luck if you're placed in a tough group aka "Group Of Death" Each group will consist of 4 players. All players in a group must battle each other once, so each participant will have a total of 3 matches/rounds. Example: Matches will also be randomized between the 4 players, the top two players in the group will advance to the knock-out round. Group A Player 1 player 2 player 3 player 4 Round 1 Player 1 vs Player 3 Player 2 vs Player 4 Round 2 Player 2 vs. Player 1 Player 3 vs. Player 4 Round 3 Player 4 vs. Player 1 Player 3 vs. Player 2 [/spoiler] Round of 16 (Knock-Out Round) [spoiler] Once we have the top 16 players from the groups stages, we will move onto the knock-out round. Losing isn't an option here, winning is a must to advance to the final bracket. All matches will be randomized, if you get matched up against a tough opponent, once again blame your luck. It will be a double elimination OU tournament, who will prevail as the ultimate champion! There will be no scheduling of matches, participants must arrive at the correct date, time, and location given.[/spoiler] [/spoiler] Tournament Schedule: November 1st Player sign-ups November 9th - November 30th Group Stages December 3rd Tie Breaker Tournament December 7th - December 14th Round of 16 (Knock-Out Round) December 16th Champions League Final (Double Elimination Bracket) Registration: Once the registration thread is posted, the first 32 players to sign up will be competing in this tournament. If you register, but won't be able to participate, please inform me as soon as possible so another player can fill your spot. Scheduling your battles: Participants will have a week to battle their opponents, please follow the following procedure when scheduling your battle with them. (This will not be done for the final round) 1. Private Message your opponent and add the hosts to the conversation so we know what's going on. 2. Name the subject "Your IGN vs Opponents IGN" this will make it less confusing for the hosts to sort out the PMs. 3. Failure to follow the procedure will result in your match to be counted as a draw. Basically if you lose your match, you're out. If you win however, you'll advance to the knock - out round. There will be an extension to this league, I'll get into more detail once this week is over.
