Hi. You did a little of misunderstanding. Let me clarify the purpose of this rule:

'We reserve the right to terminate your account for any or no reason.'

This rule is essential to address situations where players find new ways to break the rules, even if those actions aren't explicitly mentioned in the terms of service. However, it's crucial to note that bans are not based on factors like race or personal preference as stated here:

Shockingly, this is usually pretty bad for business, so we don't do that.

The admins prioritize maintaining a fair and welcoming community, which is essential for the success of PokeMMO.

I feel like they suffer from it being saved in 32 bit integers, in the past I also noticed some items going into negative numbers when you have too many of them.

With that said, id only be ok with that if they implemented the tax system they had previous to the current one where 25k wasnt the limit but a small % of the price placed as it would help controlling inflaction aswell.

I'm sure the negative numbers were a bug that has been fixed, as I've never encountered one.

I hope that staff can consider my suggestion.

    Dear PokeMMO Team,

Recently, I have observed that certain rare Shiny, such as Shiny Entei and Zapdos, are being traded on trade chat at prices above the GTL (which is maximum of 1,999,999,999 Yen). Additionally, highly sought-after vanity items like the Flaming Skull and Kyu Hat are also surpassing this limit. These items and Pokémon are relevant to many players and would benefit from visibility and availability on the GTL.

Therefore, I suggest that the price limit on GTL be broadened to accommodate these high-value trades. Increasing the price cap would enhance the trading experience by allowing players to list and purchase these valuable items and Pokémon directly on GTL, thereby ensuring a more inclusive and dynamic marketplace.

    Thank you. With love,

Not being able to see fluid movements is really irritating when trying to take screenshots with friends, meeting up with people in game or just in general. It would be cool if they implemented it back in, I personally don't see the need for all this optimization the only time i've experienced a performance issue within the game is during events which is understandable as its peak player time but even then it wasn't anything major, probably just a short lag spike.

For those reading, this is feedback from a fellow player who feels irritated by these optimization changes. Thank you for your input.

  6. Hi,

The concept of PokeMMO "dying" is indeed strong terminology. However, considering the potential for it to become less relevant over time is a valid consideration. While PokeMMO's core gameplay mechanics, community interactions, and nostalgic value have contributed significantly to its relevance, it's essential to examine the developers' and staff's work on the game.

I give props to the developers and staff for their dedication and hard work in maintaining and improving the game. Their efforts have been crucial in sustaining PokeMMO's popularity and relevance. However, the future trajectory of PokeMMO heavily relies on their ongoing choices. Poor decisions, such as neglecting critical updates that have been promised for a long time, implementing unpopular changes, or failing to address community concerns, could potentially alienate a significant portion of the player base. In such scenarios, the game may indeed experience a decline in relevance as disillusioned players become frustrated and leave.

It's crucial to recognize that player retention and engagement are paramount in sustaining the longevity of any online game. A dedicated and satisfied player base forms the backbone of PokeMMO's community and ensures its continued success. Therefore, the responsibility falls on the developers and staff to make informed decisions that prioritize moderating the game and preserving the interests and satisfaction of their player community. They should also look to the future, anticipating trends and technological advancements to ensure that PokeMMO evolves in ways that continue to captivate and engage players.

While the evolution of gaming technology and industry trends may influence PokeMMO's trajectory to some extent, the impact of developer decisions cannot be understated. By maintaining a responsive and player-focused approach to development, and by prioritizing future trends and player interests, PokeMMO can mitigate the risk of becoming less relevant and sustain its position as a cherished part of gaming culture for years to come.

@drewq and I were deep into an intense online gaming session at Optic's Monotype Tournament, our communication buzzing through our headsets. We had just entered a crucial part of the mission when suddenly, @drewq's voice burst through my speakers with a mix of frustration and urgency. "Turn around, dude! You're facing the wrong way!" he exclaimed. I glanced at my screen, baffled, because according to my display, I was perfectly aligned with our objective. "What are you talking about? I'm facing the right direction," I responded, my confusion growing.

The argument escalated quickly as @drewq became increasingly irate. He insisted that on his screen, I was turned completely in the opposite direction, making us vulnerable to enemy attacks. "If you don't turn around, we're going to get ambushed!" he shouted, his patience wearing thin. Despite his mounting anger, I couldn't understand what was wrong. From my perspective, everything looked fine, and I was certain there must be some glitch causing the discrepancy between our screens. "Trust me, man, I'm seeing things correctly on my end," I tried to reassure him, but it only seemed to infuriate him more.

In the heat of the moment, the enemy did indeed ambush us, capitalizing on our miscommunication. @drewq's anger hit its peak, and he let out a string of expletives, blaming our failure on my perceived stubbornness. After the dust settled and our characters respawned, we took a moment to cool down and realized that the issue was likely due to a synchronization error in the game. The incident highlighted the challenges of relying on virtual coordination and the importance of trust and clear communication. Despite the temporary rift, we patched things up, determined to tackle the next mission with a better understanding of each other's perspectives.

Hi @Summrs. Thank you for share this truly entertaining story. You and your friend @drewq had me laughing 😄

When you see me in the game, don't hesitate to say a hello! It would be a pleasant surprise to me, hope we can be friends. 🙂 And I'm glad to hear that you appreciate my post as well.

  8. Update: I'm bringing this up not as a suggestion to the staff but to see if others in the community have noticed these changes and feel the same way. To address potential comments suggesting "if you are bothered, then quit," I'd like to clarify that this is far from me personally wanting to quit the game. I love and enjoy playing PokeMMO and have no intention of quitting, even with the optimizations there. I'm curious to check if others noticed these optimizations. Looking for your commentary  😄❤️

    Hey guys!

I've noticed that our PokeMMO has made several optimization changes that affect how we players experience the game world. One significant change involves the overworld player character loads. Previously, players could see other characters from a greater distance, but now, characters only load when you walk close them. This means that even using a large screen resolution and optimized zoom, distant players remain invisible until you approach them.

Secondly, the game's broadcast of player movement has been permanently altered. When I first started playing, it was possible to see other characters spinning or changing the direction they faced in real-time. However, the staff disabled the overworld movement broadcast for the entire year, making this limitation the new default. Now, we can only see if a character has changed their position but not the fluid movements that were once visible.

Moreover, the free delay change direction while riding a bike, a feature that was added not long ago, has been removed, likely as part of these optimization efforts. These changes seem to be aimed at improving performance, but they have come at the cost of certain features that players appreciated.

As the game continues to be optimized, it raises the question: is PokeMMO being over-optimized? The balance between performance and maintaining an engaging, interactive world is delicate, and these recent changes suggest that the scales may be tipping too far towards optimization. While smooth performance is essential, the game's charm and interactive elements are equally important to players' enjoyment.

Can you have a shiny block if you don't pass the post-game?

    Hey @Luis7890,

In PokeMMO, encountering a shiny Pokémon before completing the story mode is possible under certain conditions. The game implements a shiny block primarily based on the number of hours a player has logged. This system is designed to prevent exploiters, particularly those using bots, from easily obtaining shiny Pokémon early in the game.

Here are the key points to understand regarding the shiny block:

    1. Early-Game Encounters: If a player has not played for an excessive number of hours, it is possible to encounter a shiny Pokémon before completing the story mode. This allows legitimate players a chance to find shinies naturally as they progress through the game.

    2. Excessive Hours: If a player accumulates a significant number of gameplay hours without completing the story, the shiny block may be applied. This serves as a security measure to deter bot users who leave their accounts running for extended periods to farm shinies.

    3. Security Measures: The developers have implemented these measures to ensure that the game remains fair and balanced. By requiring players to complete the story or limiting shiny encounters for those with excessive playtime, they reduce the risk of exploitation.

In summary, while it is possible to encounter a shiny Pokémon before completing the story mode, players with excessive hours of playtime will have a shiny block applied as a precaution against botting. Completing the story or having relatively low playtime allows players to encounter shinies more naturally.

    Best regards,

6 months without any wishing stone update or acknowledgment is inconsiderate to the community

The wishing stone was an annoying 40 hour grind 6 months ago that required sacrificing valuable +20% shiny odds.  However, there has been no communication or even basic acknowledgement from the devs regarding the item.  Will the item ever have a use? What will the nature of the reward be?  Will the reward be implemented in a future event?  This is important because many players assumed the wishing stone would become useful during the lunar new years event, yet all it did was have its sprite changed.

TLDR: 6 months without any update or even mention of the wishing stone from the devs is inconsiderate to players who spent 40 hours acquiring the item.

Mathematically, just to clarify, it has been 4 months and 24 days since Christmas, not a full 6 months. Personally, I didn't invest time in acquiring the Wishing Stone and don’t have it, but I recognize how important it is for those who did. Many players invested significant time and resources into getting the Wishing Stone, hoping it would have a meaningful use, especially around events like the Lunar New Year. However, without any communication from the developers, it’s hard to know what to expect. That said, your concerns about the lack of communication regarding the Wishing Stone are valid.

What's the point of a flaming skull if it doesn't flame?

Well, the point is to keep the flames as a surprise! Without the flames, the skull can blend in more naturally and avoid constantly drawing attention to itself. When the flames are activated, they create a striking contrast, making the skull look even more intimidating and impressive. This way, the flames have a greater impact when they appear.
