Hello everyone,
I just got approval from the PokeMMO staff on Aug 30th for my app. (Latest update 12/4/2022)
Please keep in mind this is a BETA release and only for Windows 64bit systems (32bit will come soon, and I want to get a MacOS version at some point). Expect bugs, crashes, it just plainly not working, etc.. I ask that you report these bugs back to me in the following format:
Description of issue (what happened, what were you doing, etc.):
Is the issue reproduceable (i.e. can you make it happen again)?
Anything in the debug folder? if so please make a https://pastebin.com of the debug files
Did the app spit out an error to you? (if so please screenshot it)
What PokeMMO client theme were you using?
What ui scaling is your client on?
I may reach out to you to gather additional details depending on the issue.

IF YOU ARE UPDATING: the process is the same as the first install, except this time it will ask you if you want to replace the files, select "replace all". Do not worry, this will not overwrite your save data.
Copy that zip file to your ./PokeMMO/data/mods folder and then perform an "Extract Here"
Example path to .exe file: ./PokeMMO/data/mods/Gilans Encounter Counter/GEC/GEC.exe
(if instead the folder in your mods folder is /GEC Package/ navigate into it and bring the Gilans Encounter Counter folder up one level)
You can create a desktop shortcut for the .exe file if you wish. If you want the tool to boot up with PokeMMO, create a batch file

KNOWN BUGS (not yet fixed in downloadable version):
- Fullscreen mode unsupported at this time. (unsure if I will be able to fix this, as the Fullscreen mode for PokeMMO is not capturable, even by regular screenshot methods; and it prevents any window from being on top of it) Best suggestion is to just play in borderless window mode while using the encounter app.
- Safari Zone encounters don't always count properly. This is due to the "A wild X appeared!" text is not up on the screen for a long interval. Currently working on a fix for this
- Doesn't count Zorua species (will count as the species it is currently illusion'd as)
- German ROMs do not count single encounters. This is caused by a typo in the single wild battle start text.
Fixed bugs and update in downloadable version:
- jre path location that exists in a personal user folder path will not work. If you don't see a black window pop up on startup, this is most likely the culprit. (prevents counting) I have a fix for this and will be implementing it very soon!
- Settings page is too tall and doesn’t scale with smaller screen sizes. You should be able to drag the settings page up and down which should trigger it snapping to the top or bottom. This will allow you to access the rest of the page. Will add a scroll feature in the future.
- If you use custom strings, my tool will not currently work for you. I am working on a fix. awkways has posted a workaround for the timebeing.
- Certain pokemon aren't being counted, while others are (and I'm not on 1.25x, 1.5x, or 1.75x ui scaling). This is likely due to my program being unnecessarily strict on image matching when the font rendering is slightly different (due to anti aliasing or something). I will relax the restrictions in the next update which should alleviate this issue. Also check if your antialiasing is set to "no antialiasing" (in Graphics) and High DPI Font is enabled (In Interface)
- The black window is still not showing up. Likely due to the PokeMMO main.properties listing a mod name that does not exist. A workaround on the user side can be to delete this mod name from the main.properties file. An code-side fix will be included in the update I will be pushing later this week.

So the new default theme was so ugly I had to make something to cover it up. I have no idea what im doing so it took a while :)
The other purpose of this theme is to see through most of the common UI elements so you can still see what people are up to, especially when in the battle screen.

How to install:
Step 1: Download Here (Last updated 26th Feb 2019)

Note: You must not have deleted the default theme, (I don't know why you would) otherwise this theme will not function.

Alpha Swarms
Alpha Swarms have been spotted in the wild! Alpha Swarms are rare swarms. These formidable minibosses can be found once per in-game day and will wait for challengers for 1 hour. But, don't wait too long! They're very hard to catch. Alphas always have the Hidden Ability attribute and always have high IVs. Secondary encounters around the Alpha also have a small chance to have their Hidden Ability. Alphas will let you retry a battle if you lose. Even if you don't end up capturing the Alpha, you'll be rewarded with EXP Candy if you can defeat it. A new menu in your Dex has been added to keep track of Alphas as they're spotted. Check back frequently to see what's been released!
Swarms are now broadcast to the Town Map when active
Prismatic Pearls
Prismatic Pearls allow you to shift the Hidden Ability attribute from one party member to another. But, they only work for members of the same species tree.
Baron Moray is a man with expensive taste. He'll only trade you Prismatic Pearls in exchange for a Shiny. Shinies can be valued anywhere from 4 to 28 Pearls each depending on the rarity, with special bonuses for Shiny Alphas and Secret Shinies. Moray can be found in: Celadon City Hotel Lilycove City Motel Valor Lakefront, near the Seven Stars Restaurant Undella Town, by the beach
New Items
Assault Gear has been added to Battle Point vendors everywhere Assault Gear is an item which increases the holder's Special Defense by 50%, but prevents them from using Status moves. The Training Link has replaced the Amnesia Brace The Training Link doubles EV gain and allows its holder to gain EVs even if they don't participate in a battle. But, the holder can't gain any EXP while holding it This item is Account-bound. It can be traded between characters on an account, but it can't leave the account Players who had an Amnesia Brace have had their item automatically replaced with the Training Link
UI Changes
Mobile: The UI for the Dex has been updated to more closely reflect the Desktop client's layout. Desktop: The Bag UI has been improved.
Misc Gameplay Changes
Trainer data has been updated with new abilities introduced in the 24/06/2022 Update Mysterious Gems are now known as Mysterious Gem Clusters. No change has been made to the item's effects. Technology Changes
PokeMMO can now automatically extract compressed archives for ROMs during setup The client is now able to automatically switch audio devices upon disconnection. Players can select an explicit audio output device in the Settings menu under the Sound tab Mobile: PokeMMO now supports native keyboard integration for iOS/Android mobile platforms. The UI is now properly offset from any notches in the phone screen iOS: Performance on iOS has been significantly improved PokeMMO on iOS now supports controllers Windows/macOS/Linux: PokeMMO now requires Java 17 for the Desktop client. Day and Night tiles do not work D:
Blame PokeMMO (: The client remembers which tiles glow at night and only lets those select tiles react to the day-night feature. My tiles do not have the same shape nor are they in the same place as the original FR game, so I chose not to use them. Thus there are no day and night tiles :\ I would love to have them though!
Animated tiles for beach and Celadon's water fountain do not work due to PokeMMO not recognizing animated tiles located in offsets other than the original tileset's animation tiles
I've already inserted the animated tiles. PokeMMO only needs to implement them.
Door animations not included due to PokeMMO not recognizing new doors located at diff offset and tile location from the original rom
PokeMMO does NOT allow new doors. Palettes are glitched when the preexisting doors are edited.
Certain tiles are glitched out if you try to load the Rom with VBA (notably the pokemon center).
My intentions were for this patch to work with PokeMMO only! If you do fix my patch for use with another GBA emulator, please share! I wanna see (:
Some tiles that use pallette 6 (in my case, all beach tiles) are glitched out
I've already contacted Darkshade about this. This error does not occur if the game is loaded with VBA

This is an issue with PokeMMO, not with the patch. Border tiles work correctly in an emulator.

An attempt at replacing all the music with remastered versions while avoiding swapping tracks out for completely different ones as much as possible. I have also tried to balance the volume as best i can. I am using official soundtracks as much as possible and the latest versions of remastered tracks and have used the highest quality sources i can find. I have also looped most of the tracks. This is probably the most complete remastered audio mod on the forums to date but there is still work to be done. I am actively updating the mod as i play through the game and finding missing tracks so expect updates in the future!
The mod should also be Android compatible

(I should have given them credit from the start but i'm an idiot and forgot i actually used some of the tracks but it's no excuse and i hope they can forgive me <3)
If anyone finds missing tracks and wants to help out then that will speed things up and would be greatly appreciated. I would like to know where the missing track is in game and what the ID is. You can find out the ID by typing /bgm in the chat box when the track is playing.
Also kindly let me know if there are any tracks playing in completely the wrong place.

This follower mod builds on the work of everyone who contributed to the various versions that came before it, and as such would not be possible without the hard work of everyone who has contributed to the follower mods so far! With that said, this mod aims to forward all updates and fixes from previous versions, correct some issues with the previous versions, add missing sprites, and pre-emptively prepare for the arrival of Legendary and Mythical Pokémon if/when we get access to some of them.
Notable changes:
Over 200 additional sprites added
Blue shiny sparkles to better match the in-battle sparkle colours
All available female sprites added
Missing sprites added, including but not limited to
- Shiny Zoroark
- Shiny Carnivine
Complete Unown line added, both in normal and shiny form
Corrected several broken or misedited sprites, including but not limited to
- Shiny Alakazam
- Cryogonal, both shiny and normal
- Wailord, both shiny and normal
- Audino, both shiny and normal
- Shiny Gyarados no longer has a random green pixel

v1.1.2 - Same as v1.1.1, just remembered to actually add the corrected sprites to the mod..
v1.1.3 - Removed alternate Gallade sprite that was mistakenly included and causing issues with normal Gallade.

The purpose of this mod was to make a more vibrant mod that utilizes real-time lighting and shadows.
Each Pokémon is set to a scaled height multiplied by their actual Pokedex height.
Downloading this mod is not obligatory. If you don´t like any part of it then change it, make your own or use another one. I endorse Verdep's HD Battle Sprites.

Ver 0.9 (still)
If you downloaded this mod before June 9th 2022, please delete that one and install this newer version. The mod has been tweaked and fixed for the first anniversary of PokeMMO. Any new changes made to the game that allows us to further add and tweak this mod, we will work on it. We have been waiting for gendered icons to fully claim this mod as finished but it has not rolled around yet.
*The latest fix/patch was correcting left over sprites laying around in the mod folder, and proper numbering for a couple Pokemon. Download links that stopped working have been fixed.
This mod replaces certain genders of Pokémon with X&Y Pokémon
That means we can have all the Pokemon still be in the game while certain genders are changed. For example Female Sharpedo is normal Sharpedo, while Male Sharpedo is Greninja.
Followers and icons are now added as of Feb 5 2021, for them to work you have to disable the Gen 5 followers mod as it clashes with this one, otherwise you'll have everything else except the followers. Check the images below to get an idea of what the mod looks like.
NOT RECOMMENDED TO BREED POKEMON WHILE USING THIS MOD.

-All item icons in menu bar and bag tabs have color although the mouse are not over. This happens beacause now the custom item sprites do not shadowed correctly
-(PC ONLY) Bag Tab icons (Pokeball, Potion, X Attack and Oran Berry) have 24x24 icons for the problem in bag tabs so they pixel in combat. Anyway they still have more quality than the original game sprites

All you gotta do is name the music file after the track ID that it's supposed to replace. (example: vermillion city is 313, so if you want to have All Star by smash Mouth play in verm, you have to name it 313.mp3)
And then drop it in the folder of its corresponding region.
If an ID is missing from this list, it is also possible to type the command /bgm while in the game, to get the ID of the track currently playing.
If you do this, please post in this thread so the missing ID can be documented.

Part 3: Loops
If you paste in a track, it will just play from beginning to end and then start over.
If you want to say, play the intro of the battle theme, and then loop from after the intro onwards, you'll need these meta messages.
However, they currently only work with MIDI files.
There's already a very detailed guide on how to accomplish this, so I will just share it here.
