I mean, I get @NikhilR really...he just doesn't want anyone's PSL fate to have to be decided by a mnemodsdvome or Linken match, he's just looking out for us in all honesty.

Pipe had a lot of credits remaining at the end of midseason that he should have used if he truly wanted to replace linken or mnemo.

I don't have much to say regarding the way the managers handled their credits.

But that is my main point :/ It is the real issue. If the psl administration can't pick decent managers, it needs to put in place more rules to prevent these managers from fucking up. Going back to 8 tiers is a cop out. Ya, it fixes the player quality problem, but there are better ways to fix it.

But I'm more interested in this bolded part. Why shouldn't an experienced player be considered better than someone who is new or hasn't made a name for himself? What's preventing this new player from showing himself to be more skillful than some of the experienced players?

What I meant in the bold part is that the community is growing. A parent should probably not give a 4 years old a sharp knife, so the child can help the parent cut vegetables. However, a parent could easily hand out a sharp knife to a teenager for help in the kitchen. The babyboomers of PokeMMO are no longer 4 years old because the competitive scene has grown over the years. We have more good players. I'm not saying old is better than new or new is better than old. I'm saying that you don't need to be a F1 driver to drive a regular car and you don't need to be a professional cook to handle a sharp knife.

Just because it's a community event doesn't mean that you cater to every single member of the community. Considering how we had so many free agents in the last season, it's like you can start voting for 12 tiers then.

^This. Making it 10 tiers or 12 tiers, means that you're reducing the importance of every other game because if one person fucks up, then it can be covered by another teammate. You're allowing room for someone to take their game lightly in hope of another teammate saving their ass week in and week out. It makes no sense to have a dedicated player's effort be offset by someone who doesn't share the same attitude.

Also I'm legit curious as to who are these unknown players who solely rely on PSL to make their mark. There are plenty of officials, CC's so it's not like these unknown players have no platform to showcase their talent. If they're good then let them prove it. If they're interested, motivated and badly want to get into PSL, then let them PM whichever manager they want to play for and prove to them why they would be a solid buy. This is alone is enough to get bought.

I might be wrong, but I don't see anyone beside you sugggesting that we go to 12 tiers, so I don't see the point of hyperbolizing the 10 tiers relatively popular demand. We are not asking for 12, but 10. I get that last season was tough for certain teams in terms of player quality, but that was mainly because of questionnable decisions from some managers.

Tor had way too much players from the start and Eric bought way too many players at midseason. When that happens, when managers bid on players they don't need, everyone has to pay more for what they want and all managers have to make compromises they should not have to do.

Pipe, Tor and Eric also had more credited than they needed which also show that they didn't manage their credits well. They could have paid more to get a better player.

If we didn't have a broken draft system last season, Tor would have never been in a position to fuck himself and everyone else. If we had a credit system going into midseason that was balanced, we would not have had managers with inflated credits. If we had active managers or not dumb ones (sry not sry Eric) that paid attention to what was going on during midseason, we would not have had managers with excess credits and a need for better players.

We have more competitive players and more experienced competitive players than last year, there is no reason why we should prevent the newcomers from joining PSL just because we assume being better than them. No names don't get drafted. New names get drafted. There is a difference.

Or I recognize that Gbwead isn't orangemaniac and is willing to commit himself to his teammates, rather than walking out on his manager.

    Ez game, Ez life

    Welcome to Machokes =)

In my sign up, I said I would be mia for at least half the duration of PSL because I will be travelling this summer. That is not worth second pick.

I mean, Frags is the best player in the game, he helps everyone teambuild...coaches some of them, not too crazy to want him at all costs. JJ probably told lkrenz he'd go after Frags without no intention of doing it whatsoever, well played.  Having 3 draft picks is just too good tho. Inb4 he fucks it up somehow

and now jj will sell #2 to yubel for a good amount too. Super broken.

Considering JIce beat the best VGC player I wouldn't consider that a fuck up. What significant wins did DestructX pick up?

I'm not going to play a "what if" game with trash like you. Whoever ends up on your team will have to put in so much extra work because of how useless you are. I seriously feel sorry for them since it will all be for nothing in the end, but hey people might pity you again and give another award for being a joke.

You also don't really know for sure what team you're going to end up on. Takes a decent ego to think you're going to be the top pick of the midseason draft and it depends what tiers the last place team needs.

i guess, but take last season for instance it was clear that destructx was the top pick. However, since Eric did prefer Jice over DestructX, I wouldn't be surprised if he fucks up again.

I feel like being last place at mid season isn't even that bad, it's very easy to go from last place to top 6 in that time, especially if you automatically get the best player/first pick of what you're missing at mid season. Unless the team has like never gotten even close to winning, I imagine what ever the last place team is coughprobablyJJcough they will still have a really good fighting chance especially with that first pick and it shouldn't be that discouraging.

ya but it is not very appealing to sign up knowing you will be last place, but i guess it depends on what the manager needs. Draft is still shit tho.
