Speculating the Roadmap: Kalos in 2026 & 15th Anniversary in 2027

Hello,

 

Considering the history of our game, it seems reasonable to expect a 15th anniversary celebration in 2027 and the release of the Kalos region in 2026. We had a big 10th anniversary but missed the 11th and 12th, so a milestone like 15 years should be properly acknowledged. Additionally, with Johto arriving in 2022, a new region in 2026 would follow a four-year pattern (I hope it is Kalos, which may bring fairy types). I fully support this timeline and also hope that 2025 brings improvements to the Christmas event—especially the return of the Elfbot activity dungeon, where we can enjoy battle using our own (shiny) Pokemon once again.

I'm pretty sure that they aren't able to implement Kalos due to the 3D sprites/graphics involved - other games are able to do this because they use their own customised graphics/UI throughout.

 

Also regarding fairy types, there would only be a few impactful ones for PvP (e.g. Togekiss, Azumarill, Clefable) - it's more realistic that they would introduce BW2 first if they were to ever add a new region.

adding black and white 2 would be like adding the kanto of heart gold and soul silver, useless, superfluous and that adds almost nothing. as for the fairy type I really think it will be added, this is because it is possible to do it, simply. If I had to try to guess what would be, at least some, of the contents then I would say the fairy type, the mega evolutions and maybe even some regional forms. Having said that, honestly, I would not rule out the possibility of finding ourselves in kalos, remember that technology always advances.

 

DISCLAIMER: I want to clarify that I am not expressing what I would or would not like (it would not interest anyone) but these lines are just a thought about what could be in the next mega update

The question to ask is: is bw2 worth it?

It's just something to say: we did something. 

It wouldn't be worth it.

It would be better to implement contents that are not implemented yet... and there are some

While they probably can't add kalos, they always could introduce gen 6 mons in the hidden grottos of BW2, similar to how we had the johto starters in hoenn safari. Would allow them to skirt around implementing a full 3D region and just add the mons.

Why do you guys care so much about a new region, when basic features from even Hoenn are still to be implemented? Go play some other game if you are bored, there are plenty out there, find a partner and play Split Fiction, its pretty good

Imo throwing around accusations isn't productive.

 

BW2 are universally beloved for how much new content they add to Unova. Another 8 gyms for re-runs, another elite 4 for reruns, entirely unique dungeons, new cities and towns, the PWT, and entirely unique encounter tables. To name a few things. I wouldn't expect BW2 within this year, or even the next, but it's most definitely worth considering down the line.

 

Why do you assume that everyone shares your exact opinion, or that it has an "objective" basis?

So yes, what you say is true, we would have new content and new reruns but losing those of bw.

johto's kanto wasn't included because it contained the same areas and potentially the same spawns that could be found in old kanto, even though the two kanto could coexist.

Do you see the point?
But if you're hopeful that we can have both bw and bw2 then that's another thing.

There is another option although I'm not sure how likely it is. If the jump to 3D proves unfeasible there is a feature complete gen 3 demake of x and y that could be of use.

In conclusion, this all comes down to waiting for what the developers will do.
