Honestly none of this even matters. the ppl who wanna invest in rising vanities still will, others will complain about those who do bc its ez monies. Its not rocket science to put aside money now to have more money later and its pretty easy to tell whats gonna rise or not. Mostly just by looking at the tag

imo the real problem is just theres absolutley no consistancy with the seasonal tag. some items with the seasonal tag like santa hat come back every year, without fail, while others like red dragon mask/body/tail or torch/pitchfork havent returned since their debut 1.5 to 3 years ago. Either fix the tag so it means the same thing for all vanities with it or dont use it at all

sorry pal, aren't you rich? your opinion doesn't matter

"Investing" in other words abusing an unessential feature to get around actually playing the game in order to make boatloads of money.

Of all the people calling for this item to be made limited, how many are the new players that you claim are being harmed by this? None. You don't need anymore than 10M at a time in this game to have literally anything you want besides artificially inflated scalped garbage cosmetics or the UNKNOWN OT shinies those scalpers sell on the side.

Hey Mr. Wallstreet, how about you go catch a fucking pokemon in a pokemon game every once in a while?

    This is very good bait

I just want to say I enjoy seeing rich players that do nothing in this game struggling a slight bit to make profit this year

Red/Black Reaper Hoods, GDM, and Plague Masks have more than doubled in price this year. Rich players are not struggling whatsoever to make profit. again, this is more about the people who don't have those items and now don't have anything to invest in until February.

    You be richsplaining me bro

Obviously what is in your interest is in the interest of everyone because that's convenient.

I try to base my opinions on what would benefit the overall player base, but rich players are a large part of that and if that upsets you, I don't know what to tell you. The entire post you're quoting is me explaining why in my opinion, not having a limited-time item does hurt the everyday 'poor' player. If that comes off as me arguing in favor of rich players getting richer, then you either aren't very smart or my ability to sense sarcasm is at an all time low.

'poor' players will never close the gap between them and the wealthy players if they have nothing to invest money into. By having another 4~ month gap between limited items (Halloween/October-CNY/February) you're ensuring 'poor' players have no chance of investing, while the old items continue to rise in price and the rich get richer.

Because Santa comes back every year duh

Love seeing all the rich hoarders getting pissed about that personally. Fuck vanity market, go sweat you filthy rich

The event/seasonal items along with the xmas presents/goodie bags have always been cheap & accessible items for newer players to make a profit from, while limited-time items have been what the wealthier players invest in. If you don't add any new limited-time item, those wealthy players will just dump their cash into the event/seasonal items making it more expensive for those newer players, especially when it's an item as desirable as this one is. You're not owning the rich by decreasing the value of your best items. If anything, they will still horde this item and sell it in 8 months at prices that poorer players still can't afford. All this accomplishes is hurting the potential of your item and making it more difficult for newer players to invest in anything.

  6. Seeing such a good item have it's potential wasted is unfortunate given how many limited-time items are disappointing. The overall quality of vanity items seem to be fine but they hinder their own value by giving their items the wrong seasonal/event/limited tag every time. I felt the same way about the Mage Hat/Staff and even if a slim chance, hope they switch this to limited.

  7. The largest mistake I see newer PvP players have is understanding what they're trying to accomplish when they're playing. Adding on to what others have said, PvP is not about taking 6 strong pokemon and trying to power your way through the tier, each pokemon on your team is there to fill a specific role, counter a specific threat in the tier, or support the pokemon you built your team around.

For me, I like to take 1 Pokemon that I want to win with and use the other 5 slots as ways to open opportunities for that Pokemon. For example, if I want to win using a Swords Dance Scizor, I need to build the rest of my team to account for what Scizor struggles to deal with in OU. To answer some of your questions, I'll use SD Scizor as my example and explain why some of your questions are so important.

-- This is not a team I've actually used, just an example of how to build around one Pokemon. This team has flaws and Is something I just came up with while writing this.

For starters, besides just breaking focus sash and punishing switches as others correctly mentioned, entry hazards are extremely useful for giving your 'win condition' the opportunity to sweep. For example, I know a +2 Scizor deals 65-75% damage to Garchomp with Bullet Punch. This means in order for my plan to work, I need to guarantee Garchomp is below 75% before I can safely setup with Scizor, and entry hazards can help with that immensely. Scizor also has a near impossible matchup against Skarmory and Cofagrigus depending on your moveset, so I need to take that into account while building my team. I could add a Magnezone to trap Skarmory/Scizor/Ferrothorn, a Pelipper+Kingdra to guarantee I have options against Scizor's 4x weakness to fire, a Hydreigon to force Cofagrigus to switch out and prevent other defensive threats from healing using Taunt, etc. Those other slots are all built to give Scizor the best possible chance of winning with Sword Dance, and every move I make during a game will be me calculating how I can make Scizor's sweep easier. Addressing your question about what to lead with, if you have a clear goal (in this case it's SD Scizor) you should (with experience) be able to identify what threatens your strategy the most & what you need to keep healthy during the course of the game and what you need to kill. Hypothetically, if my opponent has a Skarmory and Volcarona, I know I need to keep my Magnezone/Pelipper/Kingdra healthy in order to support Scizor, so I'll have to lead with whatever I chose as my last 2 Pokemon. (This does vary game-to-game, as Pelipper is a great lead in some matchups but struggles if there's a Rotom or certain other threats)

Building around 1 Pokemon isn't the only way to play, as this is close to the 'balance' playstyle. Hyper offense, bulky offense, stall, and others can be built in different ways giving you multiple different ways to win. However that requires you to identify what your win condition is based on your opponent's team, and that's rather difficult for a new player. I'd choose one Pokemon you like and try to build a team using the other 5 slots to support it, and look through the usage stats along with matchmaking/tournament games to get a better understanding of what that Pokemon needs help dealing with. On top of this, I personally have never built a team that never needed adjustments. Whether it's changing an item, a move, or an entire Pokemon, you should be adjusting your team multiple times before it's 'perfect' so don't feel down on yourself if you build something that doesn't seem to work. The first rain team I built on PokeMMO only has 3/6 of the same Pokemon as my current rain team has.

I tried to cover most of the basics but 2 other things I forgot to mention; EVs and IVs.

A lot of Pokemon are fine with 252/252/6 EVs, but you should always ask yourself if there are unneeded EVs in one place, or missing EVs in another. Continuing with the Scizor example, my first SD Scizor had very little speed, and I quickly found out that Milotic's Scald burn killed any chance I had of setting up if I played against one, so I tried a Scizor with 116 HP/252 Attack/140 Speed to guarantee I outspeed uninvested Milotic, among other things, and found more success. (I don't recall if 140 was the exact speed but you get the point) With IVs, I highly recommend against going full 4/5x31 to start. As I mentioned, you should be adjusting your team and switching out Pokemon numerous times. This can become very pricey if you don't have the funds to breed 20+ perfect Pokemon, so I recommend going for 2x31 3x25+, putting the 2 31's in the most important stats. A Kingdra with 27/0/27/31/27/31 will be nearly identical to a 5x31 while saving you hundreds of thousands of dollars. Once you know what Pokemon work well, you can sell the current variant and upgrade to perfect breeds from there.

I hope you read this and came out a little bit smarter but there really is a lot to cover and I tried to fit in everything I could without writing you a book.

it's about him trying to break the system with fake bids with ill intent towards jj and finding some bs excuse to back out.

At what point do you give up your assumptions and look at what information we actually have? I have a track record of making donations, with legitimate reasons as to why I don't think this auction is fair, but you gloss over those reasons because of this made-up perception that I was never going to pay to begin with.

Jesus what is this drama. Could someone please throw me a tl;dr ?

previously banned players have to pay money to play despite already serving their bans; gb says he won't allow JJ to lose his auction, so the highest bidder on JJ takes back their bid because it's now pointless if the host already made a decision. Host bans that player and everyone argues for 12 hours on why this system never should have existed to begin with; host doubles down 7 times because he's never wrong and it's a perfect system

Bro its still money for psl if GB bids 100m on jj staying banned. Point is u never wanted to pay.....

Gb host or not can still play in this court auction cuz it has no negative effect on the end product of this PSL. All this players on this list did something. Igaf if someone pays 500m to make one singe player stay banned. Thats for me simply a win for the community. Stop all this blah blah attacks on the host and just pay or sshhhh

I don't understand half of the things you say, but I do understand gb made you his cheerleader for this PSL so I'll repeat what I said 20 minutes ago for you; I have no interest in donating to this season or it's host, so I don't care how much the money is or where it's going.

    I'll give you an example

Here's your own example in the way I view it

Bill Gates is running an auction, and the moment the person Bill wants to win is no longer outbidding the person he wants to lose, he threatens to use his power as host of the auction to insure he gets the outcome he desires. He states publicly that he will use his own money to get the result he, as host, wants. Going so far as not giving anyone an end date, and stating that he can place a last-minute bid before deciding the end of his own auction.

Prior to making my bids, I was not aware that:

    a) The host can change rules mid-auction

    b) The host will participate in his own auction

    c) The host has already determined who he wants to win

    d) The host has no end date to the auction, and could now win his own auction whenever he chooses due to the reasons above

These are valid reasons for me to change my opinion on wanting to give money to your event, and if you can't see why these factors would change someone's interest in an auction, you should not be hosting this season of PSL.

I guess you believe I am the richest player in PokeMMO.

I'm a random, as you've all said numerous times. I have no idea how much money any of you have, and I don't see how this is even an argument. My only argument is that the host should not predetermine the winner of an auction, and I'm not interested in supporting your event anymore. If that's worthy of banning me and throwing a fit, then I understand your position and we can move on without further argument.
