1. With the more or less revival of PokeMMO OU Doubles in our midst, I think the ability to cancel the move of our 1st Pokemon is becoming a necessity. Ideally a player would have the ability to hit a "Cancel" button of some sort, I could go into how we should have a cancel button in Singles as well but that's another suggestion for another thread. DarkShade get on it you glorious bastard uguu.

Didn't think Miltank was overpowered on paper Never really put thought into preparing for one Never even battle one Until today, when my career was ended by cursing into oblivion At +1 it live a Lee Superpower, like what the fuck. What kind of special attacker is supposed to come in and hit back? Oh lawd.
and might i add then in a meta where special offense is discouraged, Miltank can curse 4 days
18. This is super common. You just developed smaller left traps than right. It could be genetics, training improperly, or just how you move and use muscles in everyday life(or a combination of these). Bodybuilders experience this ALL the time and to fix it simply add more reps to the lacking side. When you do shrugs, add an extra 2 reps to each left set and an entire extra left set. Your body is a work of art, you can add muscle wherever you want... Just like touching up the paint of a canvas, you can touch up where some muscle has lagged.

  21. After careful consideration and discussion, ThinkNice and I have come to a decision on who will be given the 5 manager spots and the 2 reserve spots. Before I announce the winners I just want to say how impressed that I was with the standard of applications that was received. I am certain that this year will be the best PSL yet with the list of awesome Managers we have. Without further ado, the 5 managers are: Rigamorty- Being a long time player we are certain that Rigamorty will put his knowledge of the community and competitive play to good use. He excelled as a manager in the first season, narrowly missing out on a win, so we are very excited to see what his team can achieve this time round. Rigamorty has proved himself to be a solid manager in the past and I am sure we will see some great things. Jayfeatskydd- Jayfeatskydd is always heavily involved in the community, hosting Pokedaily, a spontaneous series and now the unofficial masters. This motivation and dedication will surely contribute to his success in managing his team this season. Jay has always been a consistent player who is frequently seen on official brackets and was arguably the backbone of his team last season. All of these great qualities will surely make good manager material. OrangeManiac- Arguably one of the most diverse competitive players in the game, getting to the finals in many officials no matter what the tier is as well as sharing his experience as a member of the NU Council. We hope that OrangeManiac can put this competitive knowledge to good use when managing his team this season. On top of being a great player he is also a great guy and I am sure he will be the manager that everyone will want to be drafted by. Vorred- Another long standing player and a popular member of the community. We believe that Vorred will be able to put the experience he has gathered by running some of the biggest teams into leading his PSL team to victory. I've noticed Vorred is a great leader, recently helping CiX to win their first team tournament. Elcoolio- Last but by no means least, ThinkNice and I are really excited to see what Elcoolio brings to the table (ThinkNice is especially excited for the smack talk thread lol). There is a lot of motivation there and as the Thug's MVP from last season :P I'm sure Elcoolio has what it takes to pull a win this season. Probably one of the people I am most hyped to see manage a team. We also have the 2 reserve managers for this season which will be Archinix and Fredrichnietze, even though they are reserves they can still sign up as players for this season. Congratulations to the final five that will join the managers coming back for this season and best of luck to all! I'm sure we are all looking forward to player sign ups now. :D

    Co-Op Double Battles

Along with this I was wondering if it would be possible to implement a co-op battle system where if one person wants to have a double battle or needs help with a battle, he/she could send an invite to someone on their friends list and they could battle as a team. I know the latter might be hard (if even possible) to implement but I'm hoping for the best. Keep up the good work! I'm loving the game so far.

  27. Wait... Are you telling me a well constructed team can win duels? I refuse to believe this. Still not really convinced on dugtrio being banworthy just because of its limited uses, get pursuit trapped by heracross/metagross/aerodactyl and it can't really switch in on anything either, so basically you have to sack something to get dugtrio in vs a pokemon and then dugtrio could maybe kill something, even though heracross can run endure/reversal, metagross is bulky enough to take a cb earthquake, blaziken can run quick attack or endure/reversal, ursaring can run bulk up, and it doesn't really trap much besides that.

  31. That's okay Robo, I should've quoted you as that would've made things easier. Even when CB was introduced and we had brought everything back, Dugtrio was still banned. Quickly after that diglett was banned too because of how easily it trapped special walls, something it still does. 1) There is still no point in setting up with Kingdra or Gyara if you still have a slowbro and weezing in the team to counter them both. 2) You either run spdefensive swampert or a CB swampert. The spdefensive one is useless vs a haze weezing or ww skarm depending on when it rests. Agility metagross cannot live vs a dug behind a sub assuming you agility the turn I sub. Because I can keep subbing till liechi to kill you off or if I do EQ to you, I do sufficient amount of dmg for a wall to switch in and kill you back. 3) You take out say one of my walls or a low health pokemon, dugtrio just comes in and does the revenge kill with ease. 4) People will combine dugtrio with cm bliss or arcanine to beat Gengar. 5) Gengar can't pursuit trap and can be countered with arcanine or bliss. Aero is one of the few valid things that can beat it. Heracross is valid too but it's very obvious to know whether you run a CB hera or not and a CB hera will not and cannot use endure on the same turn it is trapped. An endursal hera is pointless because you lack the turn to use SD which gives you a lesser chance of sweeping and I can just go to weezing or bulky gar to take the hit. My point is that CB dugtrio paired with the right defensive core and a starmie can win a person a game.

  32. Miltank is not garuanteed to survive that superpower: 252 Atk Choice Band Hitmonlee Superpower vs. +1 252 HP / 4 Def Miltank: 186-222 (92 - 109.9%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO But if your attack IV is not 31, these numbers are not correct, of course. If you are asking for a special attacker to counter cursetank, I think we established that pretty much only rain dance omastar has the power to do this, but omastar can't counter a cursetank with EQ. As for miltank with EQ, it can't even touch haunter or misdreavus. Sunny day exeggutor could potentially also counter a cursetank without EQ: +1 0 Atk Miltank Body Slam vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Exeggutor: 69-82 (40.5 - 48.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO 252+ SpA Exeggutor SolarBeam vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Miltank: 99-117 (49 - 57.9%) -- 56.3% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery Unfortunately that 2HKO is not 100%, and return instead of body slam beats exeggutor. Another option is physically defensive slowking: +3 0 Atk Miltank Body Slam vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Slowking: 84-99 (41.5 - 49%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery +2 0 SpA Slowking Surf vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Miltank: 96-114 (47.5 - 56.4%) -- 28.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery At +3, miltank is slower than slowking, which gives you the control of the situation. However, a paralysis from body slam can screw you over, and miltank with return also wins easily. All in all, no special attacker can really beat cursetank, as far as I am aware. Now, miltank can't OHKO a hitmonlee even at +1, so the only way it could have beaten you is that it predicted your superpower and used milk drink. This doesn't always work against all physical attackers. If you had instead used a kingler, the miltank would have to prepare for the incoming banded superpower, which is a 2HKO even if miltank curses: 252+ Atk Choice Band Kingler Superpower vs. +1 252 HP / 4 Def Miltank: 144-170 (71.2 - 84.1%) -1 252+ Atk Choice Band Kingler Superpower vs. +2 252 HP / 4 Def Miltank: 72-86 (35.6 - 42.5%) If you instead happen to be a SD set, you can get to +2 while the miltank uses milk drink, to reach to following potential OHKO: +2 252+ Atk Kingler Superpower vs. +1 252 HP / 4 Def Miltank: 192-226 (95 - 111.8%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO To be safe, you can of course SD twice, since then either the miltank will curse: +4 252+ Atk Kingler Superpower vs. +2 252 HP / 4 Def Miltank: 214-254 (105.9 - 125.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO or hit you for disapointing damage: +1 0 Atk Miltank Body Slam vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kingler: 54-64 (41.5 - 49.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO On a final note, Steelix has no problem coming in, use toxic, and roar it out. If it runs heal bell, it's pretty much a non issue, since it's countered by ghosts, aggron, scizor, steelix and so on. Otherwise it will have to rely on a cleric, which is dangerous in this meta thanks to the amount of SD'ers that can take advantage of this. I think I had something else to say, but I'm in a hurry, so I will come back later (I apologize for the lack of relevant calcs against steelix, just trust me that miltank can't do much even at +2). EDIT: Just came back, so I wanted to summarize my point: -Without any boosts, miltank is harmless and can be dealt with in a multitude of ways. -At +1, miltank is nearly impossible to deal with by use of brute force. Apart from a couple of special attackers and the hardest hitting physical attackers, toxic and roar are the ways to go. -If miltank carries heal bell to get rid of toxic, it's also harmless. -The best of miltanks counters and checks are the most commonly used pokemon in UU right now, making it hard for miltank to roam wild. I personally believe that the high usage of these pokemon (steelix, slowking, scizor, hitmonlee etc.) is not caused by the threat of miltank, but rather because they are the best pokemon around. In general, most decently built teams should be able to deal with miltank, even without having prepared specific counters.

  36. So I started a little Fire Emblem drawing meme which will probably take me forever to finish, but I'm gonna get through it all. Anyways the first part was to draw MU and I was too lazy to do something creative so I basically took the headshots from the game and drew them out for both of the MU's I have and seriously they took longer than I expected; at least 2 1/2 hours each, but here they are Next I'll be drawing them with their significant other, but I decided to test out a chibi style so we'll see how it all goes. I'm like half way through already, but coloring them might make me feel different about them.

  37. Sorry I missed this post Nik. Dugtrio was banned because it was Uber at supporting in the old metagame: with few good physical attackers available, special sweepers were an absolute necessity to deal with common Physical walls - almost nothing in OU had the raw power to break Weezing/Skarmory without running SD since CB wasn't available. Since there were very few pokemon who could tank a Starmie Psychic or Surf, special walls were a necessity to win matches. In fact, they were so necessary that it was highly predictable what your opponent would do when you had a Starmie in play early game: they were going to grab their Snorlax/Blissey and use it to keep you from sweeping. Add Dugtrio, who can trap special walls on a low-risk double switch and kill them and you have a failsafe way of removing the only solid checks to Starmie/Jolteon/Special Gengar/etc. Over time, the metagame developed into a contest where the first person to Dugtrio trap their opponent's special wall could then sweep by sending in a series of special attackers. Thus, we banned it: it was stupid and centralizing and caused everyone to run a very similar strategy, which is not in the description of a "healthy" metagame. "Why is it different now?" is the question you're implicitly asking. In our current metagame we have a couple of things that make special sweepers less attractive: 1. Dragon Dancers. Gyarados and Kingdra can quickly set up, break both physical and special walls, and prevent Starmie/Jolteon from sweeping with only a turn of setup. Combined with Arcanine's Extremespeed, weakened special sweepers are no longer the total terror they once were for most attackers. 2. Metagross and Swampert. Both of these guys have huge advantages as teammates: they're not defenseless blobs and they both have good resistances to common special attack combos. Weaker sweepers like Starmie can't do a lot to specially defensive or bulky variants, and regret taking a Tpunch or EQ to the face. Additionally, neither is extremely vulnerable to Dugtrio. Metagross can Agility on a Dugtrio Substitute, ruining the Sub sweep, live a CB EQ and hit it hard with Meteor Mash and/or Pursuit it out (if it smells fear). Swampert's bulky enough to live pretty much any Dugtrio attack and can also run Roar to prevent Dugtrio or other Sub/Salac users from being a total pain in the ass. 3. Choice Band. It goes without saying that CB itself is a huge asset because it allows many Pokemon to hit blobs like Blissey for tons of damage without having to take a turn for setup. CB Heracross, for instance, is strong enough to break almost any check (assuming it predicts well) without thinking twice. While it's also weak to Dugtrio, predicting exactly when it will come in isn't as easy as predicting a special wall. 4. Gengar. With its ability to annoy the shit out of special walls, Gengar is often enough of a threat to not even need a Dugtrio. It can sub up while you shit your pants in fear of its wide array of attack options and then Disable Tbolt/Ice Beam on Blissey to give a Teammate a free switch in. It can Taunt a Blissey that tries to Softboil up after taking a focus punch and then proceed to chip away at it. It can Sludge Bomb Ludicolos to death and Wisp pretty much anything else (except Arcanine) into submission. 5. CB Dugtrio: this deserves a special mention. While it is an absolute pain in the ass can can quickly clean up weakened sweepers after they kill off on of you weakened pokes, CB Dugtrio can also open the gate for something equally scary to get into play. If Dugtrio kills your Metagross with EQ, you can just send in Gengar/Aero/Gyarados/Heracross and either Pursuit trap it, hit the switch in hard, or set up and proceed to sweep. If Dugtrio AA traps your Heracross, just press Endure and laugh as it has to run. If it uses some other move (pursuit on your Gengar, maybe?) you can quickly ruin its day because of how underpowered that move is. So, like Gunthug said, it's not like CB Dugtrio doesn't cost you anything, in fact, I've won more than a few battles recently by having Dugtrio pick off a weakened poke with EQ and then using DD Gyarados or Aerodactyl to set up/sweep late in a game. Because of this, we aren't seeing Dugtrio Sub-trap teams rule the meta (yet). We're also not seeing CB Dugtrio sweeping on every team or watching it consistently dismantle teams enough so that something else can sweep reliably. What I see is a few teams using Dugtrio with moderate success, but it's not "too good not to use" like it used to be in the mandatory Special Wall days. Because of this, I just don't see how you could say it's worthy of getting the boot. Of course, this all could change, but I'm just not seeing it yet.

  39. RIP me, tournament distracted me from submitting my team hahaha. Oh well, gl guys! EDIT: Just for kicks Assessment: This appears to be a well-balanced line-up of pokes without any overly dominant options jumping out at me. There appears to be priority, options for late-game sweeping, and also a bit of bulk stashed in as well. Unfortunately the only water-type is our mandatory option Whiscash. Here’s to seeing Whiscash played in a wide variety of ways with a lot of pokes carrying HP Grass to slow it down.
Whiscash “KittyFish” Nature: Adamant Ability: Oblivious EV Spread: 252 Attack / 4 SpDef / 252 Spe Held Item: Leftovers - Dragon Dance - Earthquake - Waterfall - Bounce Explanation: Whiscash is the only water-type in this list so deciding on his moveset was fairly tricky. I could use him as a bulky wall or go for the full-on sweeper. After analyzing the field it appears only two pokes resist Whiscash’s dual STABs, Earthquake and Waterfall, and those pokemon are Breloom and Bellossom. Unfortunately for them Whiscash can also carry Bounce, which after one Dragon Dance, OHKO’s both (apart from 252/252+ Def Bello). Another positive to this set is that after one Dragon Dance an adamant Whiscash outspeeds the entire tier. (+1 Spe Whiscash = 168; Max Spe Arcanine = 161). Whiscash’s high bulk also prevents it from being readily stopped by most priority, so if you get a Dragon Dance, you are looking at a potential sweep. Things to avoid: One hellaciously bulky Bellossom with Giga Drain or really anything with a Grass-Attack prior to using Dragon Dance. Bellossom “GetSSOM” Nature: Modest Ability: Chlorophyl EV Spread: 4 Def / 252 SpAtt / 252 Spe Held Item: Leftovers - Giga Drain - Hidden Power Ground - Sunny Day - Protect Explanation: Ok so everyone and their mama will have a Dragon Dance Whiscash, this is known. The only move that reliably hurts Bellossom is Bounce, but fortunately for us it has both really low PP and also a “charge up” turn as the pokemon “Springs Up”. I can switch in and continuously use Protect on the turn that Whiscash attempts to attack. This will effectively PP stall the Whiscash until he is forced to either switch or attack me with a resisted Waterfall or EQ, at which point I can just Giga Drain, killing it, and recovering my health back. Sunny Day is there to use on the turn that Whiscash springs up, allowing me to outspeed it with any consecutive turns if the Whiscash is only at +1. Hidden Power Ground offers a coverage attack against my more common switch-ins that might fear me running a SunnyBeam sweeper set with my use of Sunny Day, Arcanine and Blaziken. Blissey and Grumpig will be commonly brought in against me as well, so if I see them I can bait them in with my Bellossom. Things to avoid: Fat, specially-defensive monsters that I can’t do a thing about. Priority attacks that will inevitably where me down. Medicham “NoRegard” Nature: Jolly Ability: Huge Power EV Spread: 252 Attack / 4 Def / 252 Spe Held Item: Lum Berry - Fake-Out - High Jump Kick - Fire Punch - Double-Edge Explanation: Ok so this guy is merely here to hit and run. His priority option Fake-Out may secure a chance at a OHKO with the ever impressive High Jump Kick. Also along for the ride is Fire Punch to hit those grass-types and also Double-Edge to really scare a Grumpig switch-in. Definitely need to watch out for priority users that can wear me down. Things to avoid: Priority. Something faster. Breloom “BringerofDoom” Nature: Adamant Ability: Natural Cure EV Spread: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe Held Item: - Fire Blast - Toxic - Rest - Heal Bell Explanation: No ghosts, and only two pokemon that resist your ever impressive STAB Focus Punch. Ok, ok… I can’t resist. 252 Spe with an Adamant nature beats any of the provided walls allowing for the effective use of Spore. After your opponent is asleep, simply Substitute and wail away at anything that switches in on your Focus Punch. Fortunately FP also has a chance at 2HKO’ing Grumpig, so it isn’t the most reliable option without any decent recovery. Mach Punch is there to cover any Flailing Zangoose or an Aggron that may attempt to break a Substitute. Substitute also provides additional coverage against Bounce, acting as a pseudo-stall move until you can no longer Sub anymore. Things to avoid: That damn Grumpig with Max bulk. May we punch it to the depths of Kyu’s TeamSpeak. Arcanine “TooFast5You” Nature: Relaxed Ability: Intimidate EV Spread: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe Held Item: Leftovers - Flamethrower - Crunch - Morning Sun - Hidden Power Grass Explanation: Coverage on everything with the bulk to go with it. The name will keep Endure/Sub + Salac abusers at bay while I toss around my amazing coverage. Morning Sun helps with longevity and lets me get a hit on pretty much anything at least once. Intimidate is a god send against a few of these heavy hitters. Things to avoid: Choice Band Earthquakes and Armaldo. Blaziken “SpeedBoost” Nature: Adamant Ability: Blaze EV Spread: 252 Attack / 4 Def / 252 Spe Held Item: Salac Berry - Superpower - Blaze Kick - Endure - Reversal Explanation: Just like with Breloom, there is no ghosts or significant immunities for my Reversal abuse. I will carry Superpower and Blaze Kick for coverage until the time to Endure and Sweep arises. I debated running a mixed set with HP Grass + Fire Blast, but looking at the list it just doesn’t seem necessary. Superpower + Blaze Kick have insane power packed behind STAB and an impressive attack stat. With all the priority around this might be difficult to pull off, but against the right pokemon I’m guaranteed at least one kill solid kill. Things to avoid: Zangoose that can outspeed and hit me, then Quick Attack kill me if I decide to Endure. All them priority pokes.
Summary: A high octane offensive team that abuses wall teams and forces players to run priority. The idea behind this is simple. I use my appropriate resistances to scout my opponent and then either sweep with DD Whiscash or Reversal Blaziken. Everything else has the ability to hit everything in the list with a powerful attack. This match will either end in 5 minutes or… it will end in 5 minutes.
