i may be alone in this but i do not think changing the move sets and power of moves for tiering reasons is the right thing to do here. it falls under the logic of why complex bans are bad. lets limit this move for all pokemon so we can use this pokemon instead of maybe having to ban one or two pokemon. and it is maybe for the reason nothing is uber in gen 5 atm. their are too many changes to be certain at this point. even with 90 power outrage, salamance might end up getting banned anyways so lets not fall for the slippery slope. their is also the argument that arbitrarily choosing which generation a move behaves as is confusing to players, but that alone i dont think is enough imo.

SUP So, I usually rock the Bunny Moniker on forums and stuff, but some of yall might've seen me in game as Hotot ( which is a type of rabbit) I actually played Pokemmo a verrryyyyyy long time ago, but I don't remember the email I used or anything like that. I wasn't involved in the community or anything, which is something I'd like to do right this time 'round. It's super surreal to see that such a small project has evolved so much, and even has legit character customization now. What a time to be alive. If ya see me in game, gimme a shout. I'd like to think I'm somewhat friendly albeit with a verrryy low tolerance for people with really bad attitudes and occasional pettyness. Other than that, I'm wholesome I swear! I'll probably be banging my head on the forums from now on and tryina have an active community presence, so I look forward to annoying all of you with puns and inappropriately timed wisecracks. I also can be found on Final Fantasy XIV, Warframe and Mabinogi sometimes(all of which I've played for 3+years). I play an fluffload of Terraria, Starbound and Minecraft too, feel free to strike up conversations about any of that! One small, teensy tiny request is that you don't add me in game right away! Posting on this account for credibility? :^) It is certainly in the interest of the game's health and longevity, specifically for more casual players, to aim for symmetry between PvE and PvP. However, I'd argue that the existence of an Uber tier and the aforementioned symmetry are not mutually exclusive. I feel like an elegant and simple solution is just to raise the difficulty of PvE encounters to suit the strength of what would otherwise be classified as ubers in PvP. One such way of doing this is by creating PvE encounters that aim to defeat strategies which would be generically powerful. I would turn to Hearthstone's PvE encounters to demonstrate this idea. Many of the PvE encounters in Hearthstone that have been recently have very specific conditions that urge a player to come up with certain strategies to beat the encounter. It is nearly impossible to use a generically powerful PvP deck in these PvE encounters because they have conditions which do not exist in PvP settings (in other words, the AI is cheating). Additionally, some of these PvE encounters have "obvious" solutions, and the designers predicted that by implementing ways to specifically punish those easy solutions, prompting the player to become even more creative. I think this example is particularly transferable to Pokemon because Hearthstone is a card game which has very similar components and pacing to Pokemon; it is a turn-based game which requires the player to navigate encounters with a predetermined set of tools (deck in Hearthstone, team in Pokemon). One concern with this approach might be that it doesn't "teach" players PvP, but I would argue that although my suggestion implies the potential introduction of mechanics that do not otherwise exist in PvP interactions, Pokemon PvP is based around a few core concepts that could be emphasized in PvE contexts similarly even with the addition of mechanics or with design choices that specifically target obvious solutions. Ultimately, PvE interactions are always soluble while PvP interactions are not because PvE is inherently less dynamic than PvP. No matter what, people will always find optimal strategies to defeat PvE interactions, so trying to achieve symmetry with PvE and PvP is pointless. One has a static state while the other is dynamic. However, urging players to come up with new and creative ways of defeating PvE encounters is what makes them exciting and engaging. If a player could use a generically powerful strategy that they derived from PvP, I would argue that it reflects poor design, whether we are talking about ubers or not.

You kind of debunked what I was actually thinking about dreams being an alternate plane we can only access subconsciously (or with certain substances, alternatively) with the fact that you DO see other people who aren't experiencing the same dream. Unless In this other plane we can generate company, but that's a far stretch imo and a theory I'll think about. As for dream eater, that makes sense why it doesn't work on those types. However there is also an incredibly neat thought that I've been dancing around since I was a kid as to whether or not our "reality" is actually our fantasy. In which case, dream eater would be SUPER fucking mean where it just took your "reality"away and left you "dreaming" then that would just kill it on impact. Again, there are some thoughts to go into that since we actually only exist as our brains piloting a body that grows and creates other brains inside of another brains body with liquids that one brains body naturally produces (birth). Our bodies only serve as a tool to maintain the survival of our brain. Being the most important, what's to say our reality is actually just an existence to keep us alive but our brains actually "exist" when they're most active, not when our bodies are most active? And THAT'S why we can't access our dreams physically.

It is Mariah ~ Not sure how long it has been, I gather about 4 or so years perhaps less, so I doubt many of you remember me & after reading I likely will be banned again (being I did not go through the proper channels before posting this) & I am okie w/ this outcome I am not trying to cause anymore trouble than I already have during my time as a member of this community! I posted this merely to say hello & to apologize! I wanted apologize specifically for being so cruel to so many ppl, especially Sophie (EmoDuck) & BestFriends, both of whom I would go out of my way to constantly berate & harass anytime I was given a chance! I also wanted to apologize to all the people I've lead to believe I was their friends who I later just screwed over for my own personal gains & as well all the nameless complete & total strangers who's experiences I've made within' this community unbarable while they were just trying to enjoy the game. I also wanted to apologize to members of the current staff & as well to former staff, specifically to Kudasai. I gave you so much shit & you deserved none of it, alll you did was ban me for blatantly disregarding the conditions Hisagi gave me for my appeal I tried to twist the rules against you & remained a constant annoyance to both you & Kyu who as well was just doing what he is supposed to do. I would also like to apologize to Noad, we were friends at one time infact you were one of the first people I've met within this community & ever since you became staff on behalf of Guyver I was a complete uguu to you & that was very wrong of me because you never done anything to me personally, & you deserved none of the grief I gave you.
