The purpose of this thread is to provide players an easy-to-understand compendium of sample strategies of OU Pokémons.

Notes:
- This only contains information about sets that I thought would be useful for new players to use.
- These Pokémon strategies are basic and correspond to probably the most standard things that are used in OU.
- Remember, EV spreads may vary depending on what is most suitable for your own team.

Any kind of suggestions are welcome as it was quite a tiring job and I definitely missed some stuff.

Welcome to the General Thread of the second season of PCL hosted by @Quinn010 and Co-Hosted - if you are intrested dm me co host is allowed to play. The PokeMMO Challenge League (PCL) is a team-based event where the best competitors face each other weekly to claim a grand prize. Players will be auction-selected by one of six managers of the season and integrate a team that will aim to win the second edition PCL crown. Once the teams are formed, the competition begins.
 
There are two phases to the event: the regular season and the playoffs. Based on their performance during the regular round-robin season, each team will head into the playoff’s single elimination bracket with some advantages or disadvantages.
 
Each week, managers will submit a tier-based lineup of players that will face an opposing team’s lineup. The PCL tiers are: Random Battles, Monotype, Catch and Battle, Untiered, VGC, Losers game.

KaynineXL: Pathetic season from u tbh, you begged and begged me to sign up as a manager to make your season interesting, and then when I try to make it interesting you get butthurt and ignore me for 6 weeks. Nobody gives a fuck about your dumb excel spreadsheet, nobody used it and it was a dumb idea, but you got all butthurt until I gave you a fake email. For real the most boring host. Pablobacas: Cheating firedog. The most pathetic cheater manager I have ever seen in the 10+ seasons I have played. I hope you know you are only in playoffs because you cheated a weak system. Quinn: Admittedly, you won the draft. We had a lot of the same targets but I backed out because I knew the NORE clowns wouldn't give AF if they played for me. One of the few managers I respect for playing the draft well and having a solid season.

I know full well I had no fkin clue who most of the players were and my draft was shite, but your suggestions to get you some teammates were just ass. Godxebec rofl, Behemoth clowned hard during the 1 game he got for me too... then u tried arguing because he is top of UU ladder with a 55% win rate he should play. Like buddy dont ever manage. Also I definitely overpayed for a guy who can potentially go 4-3
 
Sargeste: I'll be honest, I thought you were gonna do well. Slap you in UU and NU and watch you shred people as a beginner in PSL. Boy was I wrong. You played like a fkin clown most weeks. My biggest mistake this PSL
 
Aerun: 2 credits, 3-3 record... honestly not bad. One of very few shining lights for me this PSL... you had some clown ass throws that cost us a playoff spot though
 
Mathew: We all know you got coached in your LC win, otherwise thank you for being a willing bench player, keeping wrath on a leash and general memery.
 
Minaccia: I should have let quinn get you, the writing was on the wall when I, a predominantly doubles player slapped you around before the draft in DPP over multiple games. I dont know where you get off calling yourself a good DPP player, because you got lucky with your wins and destroyed with your losses, some of the dumbest plays I've ever seen.
 
GodXebec: I admit, I wasn't going to sign you. The plan was to draft myself at the end but wrath insisted you were good. Well well well clownxebec you can't blame RNG for your horrific record. Your team builds are a joke. Your winrate is a joke. And as a doubles PSL manager I should have just signed myself, we would be in playoffs if I had.

xSparkie: Nice of you to show up towards the end of PSL, you turned it around after a few close losses at the start of the season. Just a shame you started winning when Minaccia started losing, so you two clowns cancel each other out
 
Wolfangt: For a 15 credit player, you weren't value for money. You had a few good wins but just generally got outclassed by other players, nearly had you traded before the other managers wised up early on. Lovely guy tho

LCPL is a team-based event, and these teams are formed by managers. Managers are selected by the hosts of the event. Players can sign up to be put on the auction list that managers use to bid on players to fill their teams. Once the auction is over, the competition starts! Every week the seven LCPL teams face off against each other in a Round Robin style. The 6 best performing teams then face off in the Playoffs for a chance to take the grand prize.

The format for LCPL is as follows (ban list for each MMO tier in the spoiler):
Doubles: Bringing back the meta of Arena Trapping and Scraggy boosting. But in a doubles format:
OU: Our current metagame, for better or worse.
UU: Tired of seeing the same mons every duel? Welcome to uncharted territories for us all.
Recording
All PokeMMO matches must be recorded in video format and uploaded to YouTube, for Showdown the Replay file is enough. Deadline of providing a recording will be two full days after a week ends. Example: Week 1 ends on Sunday GMT 00:00, then the deadline will be Tuesday GMT 00:00. In case this requirement isn’t met, the match will be VOID.

 
Discord
I (YettoDie) will be the owner of all 8 teams their Discord, this to prevent hidden channels. Both the Manager and Host will have all remaining privileges. Smartypants managers deciding to create a separate Discord channel, try me :).

How it works:
PokeMMO's 'Grandmasters Invitational' series will give players the chance to accumulate points from regular automated tournaments over the duration of 3 months.
 
A leaderboard has been created where the top 16 point earners will be granted invites to the finals tournament.

The Leaderboard point collecting period will start on the 1st of February and end on the 30th of April.
Rules
Leaderboard points are obtained from automated tournaments only. This includes OU, UU, NU, Doubles, Community Combats and the leaderboard finale west/east tournaments. No points are gained from staff-run tournaments & player made automated tournaments. The higher your leaderboard position, the stronger your seed in the final (for example, seed #1 will play seed #16). Places 17-32 will be used for reserves, and again, the higher your position, the stronger your chance to be selected. Multiple accounts/characters can claim a spot on the leaderboard but only one character will be invited. Players will be informed via in-game mail when they obtain points and if they manage to get an invitation. In the event that there is a points tie to an invitational spot, the player(s) who secured the points first would claim the spot.

PokeMMO's Xmas Holiday-themed Event has returned for 2022! Santa Holiday Man is seeking assistance from players to help quell the Elfbot Rebellion. Find him in: Castelia City Vermilion City Slateport City Hearthome City Twist Mountain is a coop event designed for 2-4 players. Each player brings 4 party members, defeating as many enemies as possible together. The longer you last, the more prizes you get. Earn Xmas Presents and Holiday Man's Presents containing exclusive rewards for PokeMMO's Holiday Special 2022. Players who achieve Hard-mode difficulty inside the instance can receive special Secret Prizes. The Top 50 players on the Highscore Board will receive an exclusive at the end of the event: the Starlight Bobble Hat
 
Lost Presents have been spotted throughout the world. Collect them all for a chance to befriend a special Holiday Alpha! Swarms have become more frequent for this event! Keep an eye out for new Alpha Swarms and Holiday Swarms featuring rare species. PokeMMO's Holiday Special will end on January 5th, 2023 12:00AM UTC+0. Players will have 1 day to finish any ongoing instances, and the high score board will be finalized on January 6th, 2023 at 12:00AM UTC+0. After the high score board is finalized, players will be automatically mailed their prizes.  
Features
 Lures Lures are special items which attract more foes in the overworld. They're effective up to 250 steps and are available in all Marts after Badge 2 of your character's region. These items increase encounter rates slightly, only attract foes which are stronger than the normal foes in the area, and allow you to encounter more foes at the same time. Some species are now Lure-exclusive encounters. These are: Starters, Togepi, and Rotom species trees. Consult the Dex for where to find these species, and other rare encounters.   
Gift Shop
Several new Limited items have been introduced during this event:  Glistening Blue & Purple Wings are now available for a limited time  Legendary Blue & Purple Robes are now available for a limited time
 

 
 
 
The  Thick Winter Coat has been released. This seasonal item is available for a short period, and will return next year
 
In addition to these Holiday-themed items, some new permanent gift shop additions have been introduced: The EXP Reamplifier is an item which splits experience and EVs among all healthy party members. This account-bound item has infinite use and may be toggled on or off at any time while out of battle. See the description in the Gift Shop for more details. Premium Lures are a class of Lure. These items are slightly more effective and last slightly longer than normal Lures found in Marts. See the description in the Gift Shop for more details.
