Same thing happened with Jhin people thought he was garbage then he got a buff. Then players start to learn his/her playstyle and how to path/build/play him/her which leads to nerfs that slowly balance the champion out.

The only bad thing about ivern atm is that he doesn't get the gold + exp from the small krugs kills, he only gets it from the original 2.
