Alright, I don't know about you but I'm hyped about the upcoming Little Cup series. It's nice to get this ball finally rolling and introducing new, maybe a bit more 'fun' than competitive tier to the game but a tier nevertheless. I do acknowledge there's plenty of questionable stuff whether they are exactly healthy to the Little Cup metagame that could have their own discussions but I made this thread because now we're talking about such an enormous force that it makes the whole gameplay borderline playable.

 

And that is..

 

 

DeepSeaTooth makes Clamperl in every sense of way ridiculous. You literally do not switch in against a DeepSeaTooth Clamperl, this is a one guaranteed KO machine every time it gets a hit off. Because you cannot know whether Clamperl is speed invested of bulk invested getting 2 KOs with it is more of a rule than exception.

 

And here's the most relevant part of the whole thread, calcs. Note that Clamperl doesn't even need SpA investments which makes this ridiculous.

Dear Tier Council, please ban this immediately because your word counts and I at least want to see an exciting tournaments series whether it gets big or nah and your calls affect on the tierlist of the upcoming event.

 

P.S. I used to run DeepSeaScale in previous events and because it's enough vulnerable from physical attacks I don't think it exactly needs an instaboot but I just wanna demonstrate with the calcs that this is ridiculous and pls ban. I would have posted this on a "LC Tier Discussion thread" but no such thing exists.

Usually I'd agree with "ban Pokemon, not item" but because LC has so low amount of Pokemon I can honestly see it as a better option to ban items instead.

What you dont seem to take into consideration is that even tho clamperl is really strong, its also incredibly slow.

9 speed with neutral nature and no invest, 13 speed with timid full invest.

 

there are only a handfull of pokes that are slower than that, that are actually viable.

 

With TOOTH it is almost certain to take out 1 poke guaranteed, but even that isnt always true.

I can think of another few examples regarding Clamperl, and dont get me wrong, it is a strong pokemon for sure with TOOTH.

I use clamperl in OU.

It's surprisingly physically defensive. I use it to fuck up cb meta and shit. (As long as it doesn't lock tpunch)

It doesn't matter if it's slow. It's a fuckin physical wall. Shit doesnt die. Defenses are great.
