Event Suggestions & Feedback

Strych

Question

As you all know, we enjoy running events. We try to come up with as many new and exciting ideas for them as we can, whilst also attempting to cater to our broad player-base.

Have we run a particular event that you'd like to see again? Perhaps one that you didn't like so much?
Do you have an idea for an event that you'd like to see happen? We're interested in your feedback and ideas, so feel free to post them in this thread.

Please keep ideas within the realm of possibility. I realise "if X is implemented, Y could be a great event", but lets try to work with what we have.

Note: This thread is for the discussion of official events (like those posted in PokeMMO Official Events).

Requesting at least one Doubles event, one Standard OU event, and one Standard UU event every two weeks. This will help to develop consistency in officials and develop a better meta for the team tournament.

Right now it's basically pray your team is dominant in OU or get lucky in Doubles. We need more Doubles events to see the meta develop. Same for UU after it really gets rolling.

Okay so we have:

UU tournaments - one is a 64 man because some players have been asking for a few of them to be run:

A Clefairy Cup - apologies to ThinkNice but a regular gift shiny Clefairy will have to do(pls forgive ;-; ):

OU tournaments - we haven't forgotten about those:

https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/51861-standard-ou-tournament-7th-march/

A masters tournament for you to all bring your best competitive game:

We do genuinely read every post in this thread and take what you guys say on board. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to post in here because it helps me to improve my tournaments/events so that they are as enjoyable as they can be for you. Even the negative feedback is appreciated because we all need to know where we have gone wrong sometimes if changes are to be made for the future.

So please continue to use this thread so we can see what you want when it comes to events. :)

didn't even see it was 64 man when I saw all of them posted. I never really liked 64 player tournaments just because they take forever and I kind of doubt there are 64 people who have actual UU teams as well but who knows. should be interesting anyways

Opinions on 64 man tournaments seem divided at the moment, some really want them and others really don't from conversations I have had in game. I am hosting one later in the month to see what everyone thinks of it because we haven't had one in a while (link here: https://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/51973-uu-showdown-sunday-29th-march/).If I get a nice turnout and everyone seems to enjoy it I would not be against hosting more or maybe even make it a regular thing like my Oceanic, who knows.

Unfortunately as much as I would love to let everyone who wants to play in my tournaments, time plays a big factor preventing me. On top of that, what if 100 people signed up? I know the likelihood of this is low but it is still something we need to consider. Some of you also currently seem to want time clause abolished too and that just wouldn't work out if we had huge unlimited brackets on top of that.

To summarise, I am personally not a fan of having no cap on participants but I can host more 64 man tournaments if there is desire for them and providing the one on the 29th goes well.

Posting brackets in the op would be great, I dont like relying on the kindness of others.

Yea I don't know why the staff stopped doing that. Itd be nice. :)

I will start making the bracket prior to the tournament (but wont add the participants obviously) and post it in the OP when I post the events. Yell at me if I forget o/

With being able to vitamin up to max evs, and being able to know some exact iv's at low levels if you breed right, that should clear some of the complaints I recall from last time.

except currently it would cost 249,900 yen per poke to ev. also maybe we should wait till we finish tiers so people will have the time and money to invest on little cup?

also not getting DQ'd for time clause would be nice.
