After 100 hrs total I encounter this random shiny while on the way to an exp farming spot in the Great Chasm. Encounter counter shows 179 encounters, I just installed it today but having only done two storylines and nothing else I'm sure my encounters are only at a few hundred or so not sure. Very lucky!
