Good evening fellow players! I would like to make a suggestion that is going to blow everyone's minds! A PokeMMO stock market! Some people might wonder how it might work. Let me describe what shares we are trading and how could work.....
The "Stocks":
Spoiler
1. The "stocks" I was thinking of are teams in game. The stock price in game goes up when the team has team mates that win tournaments or if the team itself won the monthly team tournaments.
2. If the team feels like it is competitive, it can send an application to the "Stock Exchange Link" and a moderator can approve a team under his/her discretion.
The "Investors":
Spoiler
1. If the investors feel confident in the stock (just like in real life), you can purchase shares in that stock or team. Investors can also sell their shares if they lose confidence in the team they had invested in.
2. It's the team's decision, but if they want to, they can pay out a dividend once every 5 months. The team's leader can put aside money in the "Stock bank" so that way, the dividends can be paid out. If the team's leader cannot afford the dividends, then the stock is not going to have any.
It's kind of like GTL's layout, but a bit different...
Tabs:
a) "Stock Exchange": The team's tag and the price per share.
IE: "AURA" = 50k per share; "LYLE" = 40k per share; "RISE" = 45k per share; etc
b) "Your Shares": How many shares you have in that team and you can sell them.
AURA 100 Shares Sell
If you click on the "Sell" button, and a window like this would pop up....
(credit to RufusMcCootur for letting me pop up the trade window)
Instead of "Trade, it would say "Sell" and just like in the trade window, you can click the middle box and type the number of shares you want to sell.
c) This tab is only accessible to team leaders: "Stock Commands": There are a lot of choices that the leader can check mark....
1. "Enable Dividend" = When the leader check marks this option, he/she can set the percentage that is going to be paid out. In the stock market, when a dividend is issued, the stock dips in value temperately and then once the dividends are paid, the stock goes back up.
2. "Stock payment for team mates" = When the leader activates this feature, it is going to pay each team mate 15% of the stock's earnings to the team. Just like enabling the dividend, the main downfall of this feature is that the stock price is going to dip a little.
3. "Remove from Stock Exchange": If the leader of a team in the market is not that confident in the team's overall performance, he/she can remove the stock from the Stock Market.
d) If your a team leader and you don't have your stock listed yet: "Team Applic." I would suggest a question with a text box and then a submit button. If the reason is good enough, the staff member appointed to keep this operation working would put you up on the stock exchange.
1. Wouldn't the stock market defeat the purpose of grinding for in game yen?
Answer: I do not think this is the case, in fact, I am going to theorise that grinding is going to go directly into overdrive. Don't be surprised if people breed like crazy or plant a ton of berries so they can make in game money so they can invest it into the PokeMMO Stock Market. The best part is that people can lose a lot of in game pokeyen, so people would grind even further to recoup their loses.
2. Who would you suggest to lead this section?:
Answer: If I had to suggest someone in the staff lounge to lead this department, I would pick either @Munya, @XelaKebert, or @Ronax due to their ability to crunch a lot of numbers together. As of right now, I would like to pick @Munya due to his status. He is the only Global Moderator in the bunch, so I feel that he can focus on the PokeMMO Stock Market. I have to say, I did not have a chat with @Munya in a while, but from what I can gather, he is quite intelligent and he does not have any ties to anyone in game so I feel he would not be biased.
3. What is the point of an in game stock market?
Answer: If a competitive team needs to purchase resources for his/her comps, I would feel that this is a good way to do it. Investors in game want to make a buck and so do the people in charge of the stock. I feel that this is an inadvertent bond between the stock owners and the shareholders.
I am not sure if you know this about me, but I love to see how companies are doing in their stocks. The Stock Market is quite an interesting place to explore if your into a lot of number crunching. I would research the stock prices of big companies like McDonald's (this stock in my view is like Russian Roulette), Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google's stock name), etc to see how they are doing. I have to say this, if you cannot handle the Stock Market, I would advise you to consult a stock broker in your area. To me, the Stock Market is kind of like a mathematical playground with a ton of numbers going up and down. When I am well versed in the ins and outs of the stock market, I want to buckle up and go on the ride. To me, the Stock Market is a fun place, but it does come with its side effects. You win and you lose. I feel that the stock market would be an excellent money sink for people on PokeMMO and also a good way to get rich in game. People can grind so they can throw more in game cash in the market place. I can see the millionaires of tomorrow doing this sport.
