On 4th September 2016, Teams Renaissance and MastersxDivision united together to become more competitively-diverse and to offer the opportunity for their respective members to start anew. Since its formation, TheUprising has already soared up the rankings to become the 4th most successful team in PokeMMO history, with a total of 4 Team Tournament wins and dozens of individual competitive accolades. 128 man tournaments are standard now due to the large amount of sign ups we are getting in game for the standard tiers. Recently I hosted a 128 man Doubles with a shiny Larvitar prize and it failed to fill. However if you would like to see 128 man doubles that is something we are happy to accomodate. What you dont do is post in a staff member's event thread declaring they are a "shit host" or a bad staff member for their choice of prize. These CMs do not have to host tournaments and I definitely would not blame them if they stopped due to the recent hostility they are recieving from certain members of the community. I understand and appreciate those posters who are declaring their unhappiness without making it personal. But for those who are chosing to be completely insulting to lower staff, this is not something I am willing to accept. I will refer you back to my previous post on the matter, you guys want better prizes which is fine. But this is something that we as lower staff do not decide and its the higher staff that give us a "budget" to stick to. I am happy to bring up the points you have all made but if it doesnt change please do not target staff who have no control or power over the situation. Additionally I would appreciate it if players directed their complaints to the event suggestions thread or if someone would kindly make a GD thread as it is easier for discussion to be held in one place.

Yeah the gard set is entirely made to stop Chansey, it works well as a general wallbreaker though, but running a particular set for one pokemon and running a particular pokemon just to counter another, are two different things. The thing is, I was able to find something to punish Chansey, but nothing that punishes anyone for using Lax. I'm just spectating the OU tourney, and Walpayer body slam para'd Takens' incoming Rhydon and then revenge killed with a surf. He was running a curse / surf / body slam / rest set. Takens also had a Skarmory as a Snorlax switch in, which got para'd and then parahaxed twice in a row and in the end couldn't revenge kill a blaziken because of this para and only set up one layer of spikes. Running 2 pokemon to beat Snorlax and still got crippled. Another thing people overlook is how Snorlax's body slam para affects other pokemon in the bigger picture because they are almost rendered useless if they get parahaxed. There have been so many OU games where Snorlax and its para has been the match deciding factor. If anyone is up for it, watch Frags vs Dreico in the finals of "The Star Of The Show" or watch my match vs Maekaay in "Take it Slow-Bro" tournament to see how a body slam para ruined a haze milo which couldn't recover and thus lost.

Is it possible to make it optional? Like if the player doesn't want the shiny, then he can go for the higher yen prize instead. EDIT: Maybe yen+RP as the alternative prize would be good, because I know I want some pc expansion :)

Tbh it would be nice to see doubles getting more officials with these lower tiered shinys for 64 man tournaments instead of dumping them into OU just for someone to cry over winning a undesirable and unviable shiny for OU. I know these shinys would likely suffer from the same problems if they were to be placed in doubles but I would rather see doubles get some tournaments (albeit some have recently popped up but for the most part they are rare to see) and for OU to get some better prizes for these tournaments in the process. I'm unaware of how shiny prizes are distributed but im sure there are many prizes worth a 1st place prize for OU over rhydon/machamp/dodrio especially when you factor in that the drastic prize difference with other tiers, sure OU is popular but I would see this as an incentive to make better prizes for tournaments more likely to fill.

How long are you gonna pick those worst possible "comp" shinies and rotate them until the end of time? This is getting really ridiculous. It seems like you have about 4 OU and perhaps a few more UUs you're willing to rotate as your prize pool for officials and it is getting really tiring. If you're so adamant about not having too valuable shinies as prizes because shiny traders could get mad, you really really should sit down and rethink your prize policy for officials. Scratch the shinies altogether and really.. really sit down and have a conversation with the community of what would make them to get hyped about an official. (Like, a real conversation not the Off Topic kind of where it's just Noad being the only one trying to find common ground with the community.) I know I'm just gonna sound like a broken record but I kinda hope at some point someone realizes that competitive play is your only endgame content and when the hype for the only endgame content is currently this bad, well you kinda have a problem. It doesn't even need to be a higher prize necessarily. It needs to be something that makes your community to be looking forward for those tournaments. e: I just noticed and I'm fairly surprised something like Sneasel was given for upcoming UU official. I guess the problem with that is that the 90% of the tournaments you have just get overshadowed even worse by having your 15th Rhydon/Dodrio shiny prize which everyone just complains in the thread and the whole feeling of the tournament is ruined. I think the whole shiny comp prize - policy should be rethought. I must say I personally think seasonal events like Summer Ball were fairly good at having some kind of a 'hype' with the event series going. Instead of having dozens of tournaments where everyone complains about the prize make one that has a jackpot.

snorlax is flexible yes, but can it take all 8 moves? like a surf snorlax can beat rhydon but wont beat cm bro or a curselax 50/50 can beat cm bro 1v1 not even for sure it depends on paralysis but curselax wont beat rhydon now those are just comparison between curselax and surflax and for the record those 2 different builds beats 2 different sets while both lose to a cb metagross. there are many counters and gb your reasoning is actually the irrelevant one saying blazi, hera, medi beat ttar but ttar is uber. iirc ttar gets 1 dd and those pokes lose to it 1v1 but 1v1 curselax with 1 curse against those, i doubt its over. there is a difference and you know it. i think most of you can find a way to beat snorlax. its not actually like "this poke is strong it cant be dealt with" it is more like "this poke is strong i dont wanna deal with it" so majority of players are try a get rid of it

Sorry man, I can see that you're eager to contribute here but your arguments and reasoning for wanting snorlax banned don't really match with how things work. I'd suggest giving this a read before continuing to make posts here on comp alley: Specifically, the focus of this discussion is whether Snorlax is too strong for this particular OU metagame. Waxing poetic about the original intentions of gamefreak when they hatched this fat monster is all in good fun, but it has absolutely no bearing on our unique metagame and how snorlax does, or doesnt, fit into it. Consider for example the legendary birds, like Articuno and Moltres, in the gen 4 metagame. While their base stats are incredible, they both suffer from a crippling weakness to Stealth Rock (50% damage upon switching in). This is an example of how the particulars of a unique metagame can dictate a pokemon's effectiveness in the tier, and how comparing a pokemon's situation in another metagame can often be irrelevant Likewise, you can talk about base stats and abilities all you want, but as long as theyre in a vacuum they are pointless - there are many pokemon with high base stats that aren't nearly as good in practice as they may appear on paper, and vice versa. I'd suggest including some calculations ( http://pokemonshowdown.com/damagecalc/ ) with your argument to back up your claims, they are usually pretty convincing.

That part isn't entirely true. It depends on what Bliss' status move is and whether it is CM set. I've beaten Chanseys with a Wish / CM / Taunt / Psy Gard, non toxic less Bliss / Chanseys lose to 252 hp / speed growth jolteon and CM slowbro, while toxic Bliss loses to Growth Venusaur and Chansey loses to Haunter as well, which was quite common earlier. The thing is none of those spakers can actually beat Snorlax because you can't run a set up special sweeper vs Lax, you need specs, similarly you can't beat Chansey / Bliss with a specs special attacker. The difference between Lax and the other fat blobs is that the latter don't have any sort of offensive pressure and you can work your way around them with wish+cleric support to heal your switch ins, but Lax just outright shuts that down.

Science! Added a bow because they're cute I think it's worth noting that we have more colors to work with than just blue. There are two reds, a pink, white, and room for one more color in this. Since the sprite is overwhelmingly blue right now, maybe we can redesign the outfit to include more colors? Kind of like Jiggly/Wiggly with the blue? @burningscarlet That dress design is really nice!
