Hey everyone, I am here today to celebrate the retirement and long lived story of @BaliAds He has asked me to host a 50M tag tournament in his honor (Don't ask my why on such short notice). This tournament with be a 5v5 tag format. Tiers are OU, UU, NU, Dubs, UT. To register either post here or DM me on Discord @necasintrouble.

(Please make sure when challenging doubles you chose the Ubers tier)
Bracket will be made 5-10 minutes prior to event start and randomized

Activity Wins
If a player has failed to show up by 10 minutes after the last duel starts you may whisper me to get an activity win

You must register at least 5 players (One for each tier) and at max 6 (Allowing for 1 substitute)

I'm genuinely annoyed that some posts have been removed and someone actually received warning points without prior warning on this thread for something pretty mild for PSL standards and just in general. It definitely doesn't warrant a whole week ban from forums. What @MathewMatposted was legitimate criticisms for the sake of the integrity of the event given that the actions of Doc jeopardised entire seasons in the past. This is the main thread announcing this season's PSL where we discuss the new host and the event, so I'm not really sure how that constitutes derailing in all honesty. Can't we not share our concerns without the risk of receiving a warning point because a certain someone can't stand the fact that we won't look past actions they've made in the past and continues to this day to take no accountability whatsoever? That's ridiculous, we might as well not have a thread in the first place. Beside, these decisions to ban Doc were made public and were done by previous hosts which are players, this is common knowledge for anyone that isn't an outsider. This is no account ban, there is no digging dirt on anybody here, no one is revealing private information. 
 
So which is it ? Drama or no drama? Or does it not apply to you? Rules for thee and not for me? He brought you drama but you shrugged it off and told staff to remove it. Or are you gonna argue that it was against some forum rules? Worst things have been said on other PSL threads in the past. Staff have always shown some leniency in this regard. This is extremely mild in comparison.

● What's your goal in Pokemmo? My focus is on shinys and PvP. I collect shinys to upbreed and use them in PvP. A big goal is to make a viable all shiny PvP team. Also I want to win some tournaments (never got further than SF, but haven't participated much lately too). The ultimate goal is to get No. 1 in OU, UU or Doubles, lets see if i ever get close.
● Why do you want to be part of lava? I've grown more and more in my PvP skills over time and gained a lot of knowledge, but I was pretty much the only PvP player on my old team. I want to see what it's like to learn from ambitious, talented and better players than me and grow and interact in this environment. Also I am really interested in getting in touch with some of the best PvP Players in the game which i recognize from various tourneys and stuff. I love debating with other players and analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of teams and builds. I believe this can help me take the next step and become the excellent player I want to be.
● What can you contribute to lava? I have experience from playing intensly in all the tiers, watching VGC Content on youtube and investing countless hours in teambuilding. I do have a couple people i talk to about PokeMMO PvP and bc of that I am sure that i can contribute to teambuilding with creativity, thoughtfulness and creating funny moments with others while at it. I want to accompany others as they grow, be part of their journey and eventually support the team in team tournaments and other great events.

How do you propose the host ensures no tweaking can be made to the disconnecting player's team in that 1 hour period?
Because that's the whole point of the rule, not allowing that.

Dear @Rache,

I believe you are mighty and wise, so the decision to buff the Sharpness Boost from x1.3 to x1.4 is unlike you. Here are a few reasons why this decision would be imo a mistake:
 
1. Unnecessary
Players are completly fine with Gallade falling in usage in OU or remaining in Uber. There is no purpose in rocking the boat for no reason.
 
2. Inconsistent
When Wobbuffet (previously Untiered) gained Tickle, it became Uber. Devs nerfed Shadow Tag and Wobbuffet fell to untiered. 
When Gallade (previously NU) gained Sharpness, it became Uber. Devs nerfed Sharpness and Gallade remained OU.
 
Why make a custom change to Sharpness in order to buff Gallade who is already OU, but not make a custom change to Shadow Tag in order to buff Wobbuffet who is rotting in untiered? If you chose to let Wobbuffet rot in untiered, you should follow the same logic and let the chips fall where they will when it comes to Gallade. 
 
3. Inauthentic
We have a few nerfs, adjustments and changes in PokeMMO, but most of them are done with the attempt to stay true to the original games. We have a lot of abilities and items that buff dmg in this game, but there is no buff in this game that can give a 1.4 boost to anything:
x1.5 boost: Hustle, Torrent, Blaze, Overgrow, Swarm, Choice Band, Flare Boost, Guts, Technician, etc. x1.3 boost: Life Orb, Sheer Force, etc. x1.2 boost: Expert Belt, Miracle Seed, Mystic Water, etc. x1.1 boost: Mucle Band, Wise Glasses, etc. You can look at every single Pokemon game and there is no such thing as a 1.4 boost, so this would be unprecedented. This would open up the door to infinite amount of possibilities in the future when customizing nerfs and it would ultimately make the game unrecogizable. Buffing the Sharpness Boost to 1.4 would be the first step in alianeting PokeMMO for the original games.
 
4. Disrespectful
When something gets banned, nerfed, moves up, moves down, players deal with it, adapt and move on. What's done is done. However, Sharpness was just nerfed a few months ago. Why buff it right away? Why reopen this wound? This is so dangerous because we could end up with a situation where Sharpness will have to be nerfed again. Players will have to constantly readjust based on every change and this is very costly, but also all the usage gathered will be put into question everytime a change occurs. What if Sableye rises to OU during the month Sharpness gets buffed to 1.4? What if it drops right back the following month when Sharpness gets nerfed to 1.35? This makes the game unpleasant for the players and corrupts tiering data which makes the job of TC harder.

With that being said, I implore you dear @Rache to not go forward with this change.

Making custom changes to the game to balance an ability that shouldn't have been introduced in the first place is simply unacceptable.
What's more stupid is the logic behind this, so if the pokemon drops to UU it should be buffed to remain at OU? what the fuck.

This is the most riddiculous thing I have ever seen. There is no dmg mechanic in the history of pokemon battling that gives a 1.4 boost:
Sheer Force x1.3 Life Orb x1.3 Hustle x1.5 Choice Band x1.5 Expert Belt x1.2 Torrent x1.5 Guts x1.5 etc. There was absolutely no reason for Sharpness to be added in the first place and now we're going to bend over backward just so this ability stays as relevant as possible. We're going to make shit up now? If that's the case, you're not prepared for the upcoming backlash. Imagine 1.4 is too strong of a boost, what next? We're going to go for a 1.35 boost? What about a 1.37 boost? Or even better a 1.3867556 boost? That would be so neat. Cmon this is insanely dumb.
 
Regardless of if you think Sharpness should be buffed or not, you can't possibly consider making such an absurd random change to the game just for the sake of annoying everyone. No one is asking for this, so why bother? What's the point? You're going to open pandora's box for what? People will start asking for custom nerfs and buffs all the time now. What's going to be next, you're going to nerf Regenerator to 31% instead of 33%?
 
Absurd. Unecessary. Oh and how the hell are we supposed to calc anything with a 1.4 Sharpness boost exactly? I rather have an authentically broken 1.5 Sharpness boost than this degenerate buffoonery of a change. I can't even believe for a second that a TC member suggested this because no respectable pvp player would ever consider something so outrageous. I'm not going to name anyone because I don't want to get in trouble, but you all know who I am thinking about and I got nothing nice to say about that person when it comes to their competence...

The process of TT
 
Team Tournament will be held in the same way every month:
 
a) The thread will be open with the date of the tournament and registration
b) Registration will start on Thursday before the tournament. Check the timezone converters.
c) Registration will end on Friday before the tournament. Same time as the start of registration so if it starts 8 pm GMT Thursday, it ends Friday 8 pm GMT
d) The bracket will be shuffled and made visible on Friday, after the end of the registration. Information about where matches are going to be held will be released either on Friday or Saturday.
e) On Saturday, before the start of the tournament, teams will be able to claim they are ready to fight on Discord, forum, or in-game.
f) In case of team is unable to play, the reserve spot team takes their place- or the opponent gets a Round 1 bye.
g) In-game team call will be held on ch4. Only captains need to be there, playing players can safely be on ch3 if that's where their match is going to be

Notes :
Disconnecting during a match will result in a DQ. Do not block the Staff running the Event. If you disregard requests for you to unblock staff members then you will be disqualified. Once your match is called you will have 10 minutes to report to the table. No time extensions will be given. Teams must have 3 players for each round. If team is registered, but fails to have 3 players, 1st reserve team takes its place in bracket.  All matches are done with standard 1 hour setting Please listen to staff members instructions during tournament. The behaviour of ruining the event for other players on purpose will be met with a yellow/red card system of penalties, as explained in the main thread HERE

I shouldn't be surprised because a lot of things seem to be difficult for you to understand...
 
But how do you not understand that he isn't against having an entrance fee for the tournament but against that the host is contributing absolutely nothing to the event from their own pocket? And honestly donating nothing is even fine if you do it every here and then but you're spamming these events non-stop and contributing absolutely nothing besides establishing a tournament series no one gives a single fuck about. I'm surprised the staff hasn't told you to just stop already.
 
Do not compare my events to yours. I've donated at least a million, usually much more to every single event I've ever hosted - whether it is an automated tournament or unofficial event. The participation fee in automated tournaments was done by me so that the limited 32 spots wouldn't be taken by some absolutely random "just beaten elite 4" player. But I still donated a significant sum to the event which you can see if you are able to do any kind of math.

Why are the 2nd and 3rd headlines centered when the 1st isnt? This is outrageous. The freaking 3rd headline is not even the same size as the others. Disgusting.

Ngl I think GB did a great job so far. Haven't seen a WC with that much investment at all. 
 
The buy in option is not necessary at all, you can just decide to not buy in and go for the qualifiers, like some big regions did (rip China south) The price pool is the biggest for WC AFAIK. 
 
GB is one of the most invested players in this game and served the community for many years.

To be honest, I wouldn’t even reward any points for anything under semi-finals.

If you really do have no clue then perhaps the best course of action is to refrain from making a post in the first place. Their criticisms is also fair and well-thought-out, although harsh in some cases. You may disagree with them which is fine, but don’t go around and pretend everything that has been said was done in bad faith. If you didn’t bother to go through everything they said and/or try to understand then that’s on you and ignoring that on purpose makes you come off as dishonest and hypocritical. I’m pretty sure their biggest concern is more about preserving their legacy rather than the actual reward itself
