do people really care that much about events that are the exact same every year? I'd rather have them put 1% of that effort into developing proper content which this game lacks, instead of rng legendary encounters which is the laziest implementation they did as of lately.

Lazy implementation? It was literally a before and after in the game, I think you are one of the few who consider lazy the fact of having a legendary permanently. I think the anti-legendary group on the forum should accept that they lost at once.
