We deal with excessive/foul comments, but nothing should be immune to criticism, including religion. If players are expressing their opinions in a reasonable manner (with the exception being things that are inherently excessive/foul, which isn't the case here), I suggest blocking them if you have difficulty handling views that oppose your own. "I'm offended" doesn't mean "it's offensive" - if we start issuing punishments over the most minor of things, it wouldn't be a particularly enjoyable place to chat. Some amount of freedom is necessary to keep the majority happy, which is why we don't solely cater to the incredibly thin skinned. The first one is mild. The second one was fine in context. Leaving out the other part of that message is extremely dishonest. The third one was dealt with immediately. If you're going to complain about apparent racism (which isn't actually racism), it's not wise to express similar views in the same thread. Player reports belong here in the future.

There was a really interesting post on smogon forums during the XY OU meta that was about accuracy moves. It used the example of Charizard-Y and the choice between fire blast and flamethrower. It was a pretty detailed thread and listed 40 or so calcs that basically concluded fire blast was needed to ohko most of its checks. I wish I could find it again because it went through most of the discussion you guys are currently having. My thoughts lie mainly in the middle, because I think its really situational. A lot of the time you don't need to go for the move with less PP and more power to get the most out a pokemon, and sometimes, like in the case of XY Zard-y, you do. I always thought Pokemon was like one big game of poker where you just try and bend the odds in your favor. Sometimes you can make the safe plays and play the cards, and it will work against lower skilled players most of the time. But other times you have to go for the riskier bluff in order to bend the odds and make the unfavorable positions favorable.

Yeah id agree 100% that different situations can call for different movesets. I do think our mmo meta leans a lot more heavily on high accuracy moves than showdown metagame which has always puzzled me though.

You can get custom HP. Forgot to add that. But just to confirm, yes you can choose hidden power.

Four matches to go with about 7 hours left of the first week. Three of those matches are important to determine the outcome of shiftries and salamences. I recommend everyone to finish their matches even if it doesn't affect the results of the week, since there are possibly awards down the line for best player, attendance, etc.
