  1. I just couldnt let iJulian take credit for best dubs without winning a single game. Even more if they just bring a team I made against me in game 1.

Got rnged again but justice was made. I legit lost g1 vs Zigh and g1 vs Titoo but walk away with 6 fat L's. Hope rng on this game gets improved soon cuz its hard to believe that throwing a 10 side dice and getting a 10 more than half of the times is fair.

    1-1

  2. Well say whatever you want.

I have put time in organizing, creating stuff, discord, matchmakings etc to entertain the ones who wanted to play. I had criticism that I accepted, had to deal with players crossing deadlines and various activity calls being impartial etc. Just like any other TO.

But I have not said a single insult to anyone and I wont accept you to do it with all your intention trying to degrade and hurt capitalizing on the frustration. You did it that way bc you thought you couldnt be punished for it, and it turned out like this.

  3. @Xigbar vs @PoseidonWrath

7/16 matches played for week 2 close to the deadline. Reminder that you can and 'should' schedule and post your games on discord. https://discord.gg/mqDXnR

  4. From now, non invitees are allowed to apply as fillers, in case players decline their invitations.  Deadline Friday.

Desde ahora, jugadores externos pueden aplicar como sustitutos, en caso de que otros jugadores declinen sus invitaciones. El viernes se cierra el plazo.

  5. And so, everyone who received an invitation entered the cave and sat around a strange table set in a shabby way.
Between a low uproar the evening began, with the attendees enjoying their cup and their lava cookie, until someone asked the question.

Rendi: tf are we doing? Is this not supposed to be a reunion to discuss a tournament?

Mysterious Host: (still munchin ') is NOT exactly a tournament, it is a challenge, a test of courage and a great risk.

DoubleJ: by risk, will you not refer to a health risk? - Asks while flexing his doctor's diploma -

Mysterious host: Hmm could be. The test will start with 5 Swiss rounds, in which people will face each other matched by their results. This means that at the start of round 2 there will be 16 people 1-0 and 16 people 0-1; at the beginning of round 3 there will be 8 people 2-0, 16 people 1-1 and 8 people 0-2; at the beginning of round 4 there will be 4 people 3-0, 12 people 2-1, 12 people 1-2 and then, BAM, someone dies.

    Nagahex: Boludeces! (Bullshit!)

    WESTKH: 这 家伙 说 什么

Julian: I'd smash a hot ... wait wrong phrase.

gbwead: (torching his baguette as if it were a cigar): and why would I want to die for a shit tie ... erhm format?

Mysterious Host: Well, not literally die, but every person whose record passes the 3 defeats will be completely out, and with it his run will have died.

Nahwel: I think uhh things in life, I think uhmm I get out of here.

DoctorPBC (snapping his fingers thanos-like): and then what?

Mysterious host: all people who after the fifth round have not come down from the X-2 (16 players) will have qualified for the (best of three) knockout phase. The results 5-0 and 4-1 in the winners bracket and the others in losers. With all this understood, the session is up; who feels strong may accept the challengue and who doesn't... I guess can run for the hills with Nahwel.

RealDevilLegend: Donde está Zigh? (Where's Zigh)

AlejandroGB: He keeps trying to get his Snorlax through the door, let's save him effort.

  6. Third 8 invitees bump.

Edit: This took me an extra while just to get home and aswer theese questions.

I'm curious what your guidelines are to pick players? Hall of Fame looks to be playing a big roll.

I've checked PSL and World Cup results, researched thru a lot of threads (tournaments etc), computed all automated tournaments with comp. prices and talked to some people about some names they'd recognice as worth inviting. That leaves me with some 'big old' names people told me they were a must, staple players in the PSL scene and consistent/motivated players. I've also checked every request for entering the tour even after I had made the first list, just to see If I skipped anyone important.

    Spoiler

    Automated_tournaments_from_team_preview.

Thats roughly every Doubles automated tournament since Team Preview exist. While this doesnt prove anyone worth inviting you can see whos either interested enough in practicing vs other players or can tolerate Doubles enough to go in for the prices. This was made with a simple algorithm that punctuates getting two second places slightly above than a first place, plus counts up to T8 when 64 players tour and up to T4 when 32. Heres the full list of players in case anyone wants to figure it out.

  7. Welcome to the first Cave of Origin Invitational.

    57-1f.jpg

The end of the Doubles meta as we know is closeTM.

In an effort to spice up the doubles scene and step up the game, I'll be releasing this invitational tournament, to give invested ones an one last chance to compete in a high caliber environment prior to the Sinnoh meta shift.

The initial bracket will consist of 32 invitees drawn from the strongest and most genuine players that will clash in a Swiss Format qualifier, then face in a best of three Top Cut to take the crown home.

Invitees will be revealed in spans of 12 to 24 hours from this post's release in groups of 8. Each invitee will be provided with a week to accept or deny its participation. Confirmation of assistance can be done in public or private.

[If any spots are open after the 4 reveals + its confirmations, people will be allowed to aplicate as fillers, with whatever they want to give as reason or accomplishment]

The creation of a Community Discord will come along the tournament, to keep the tournament interesting, and generate content.

    https://discord.gg/F8Qrkek

All matches will be screenshotted (or recorded if possible) for commentary and/or analysis purposes, such as 'match of the week', discussion about matchups and stats gathering.

The mechanic to spectate battles will be the same as in PSL/wcop, but posting 'playing in 10' in the #scheduling channel on discord and @everyone tag.

    En Español:

    Spoiler

Pricepool will most likely be low since I dont have much to give, and the winner should take everything home. Ill accept donations.

So let me get this straight, you quote me just to bark at me and didn't anticipate me being a jerk in my reply. Dogs are pretty naive creatures, but cmon what did you expect?

My point is that the only thing you can do to reply is be a jerk since you can't answer with facts or feasible statements. Idc if you bark back at me, but since clowns are such crowd pleasers I guess you had no other option even if you still make the absolute ridiculous.

I guess you bash on dubs bc your tier -kid- council 'powers' cant affect it, I almost feel sorry for you.

  9. 8 minutes ago, gbwead said:

You shouldn't speak about common sense if you don't have any. I'll try to explain what is obvious to some many and yet not to you. It's not a problem that some teams get advantages for accomplishing more. The problem is that no one knew at any point that there was this kind of advantage to fight for. The fact that, all of a sudden, tie breakers will be different this season is a surprise to everyone and it's unfair because it's a surprise. You can unjustifly cry about RNG as much as you want, but that has nothing to do with the tie breaker.

You might have a point here, but the thing is that we don't make rules either and I dont think we would be less favoured if rules were like last year, we dont really have weak players in any slot.

    9 minutes ago, gbwead said:

I said he would play all 3 tiers. Doubles is not a tier, so he would actually only be playing 2 tiers. I guess he had little faith in himself.

Oh yeah the good old 'ohshit I really looked like a clown and I have to resort to straight offending players and utilizing my mental paranoia' to even attempt to answer.

    11 minutes ago, gbwead said:

Oh you might not have realised, but you actually didn't start playing this game yet, at least not competitively:  all you do is focus on a joke format only very very few individuals care about. I understand that you only care about this shitty format, just like dogs only care about chasing balls and returning them to their masters. You may be a dog, that's cool, but since I'm not really a dog person, I'm fine with the fact that when you look up at me you can only see a clown.

A little more of being a jerk and trying to look special and eccentric but in reality still being the clown we all see.

    Spoiler

Man I play this game, sometimes I even enjoy it. I played mons for a LOT of years, I've played and grinded singles formats since I was 13 or so in late DPP, BW1. I've been in the hispanic and smogon scene quite a lot of time in the past. Pre ORAS I had spent a shitton of hours learning different 'tiers' and whatever you want to call it, knew how to handle different playstyles in the one dimensional world of singles and really theres nothing you can teach me. I even have a great and kinda known match vs Reyscarface (https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen7ou-274038) in HPL IX, after I came from my retirement in late oras. At that point the only thing I took seriously was VGC, and believe me, when you have to play such shit formats as some of the VGC ones for money and travel awards you learn to appreciate a quite good, young and almost balanced doubles format. Can't ask someone whos still in the cavern to have an actual taste for formats or a root to his words, but also can't leave you in ignorance and feel okay.

  10. In the first place I believe here should be some people with enough common sense to see that is kinda fair for teams that sucked less in regular season have some sort of advantage in picking tiers. In the second place, I didnt watch any of the matches of my team from finals mainly bcs I was busy and also dont want to get mad at losses, but as I heard in discord some key rng went the other way in sm and lc games, so hey maybe just play the tiebreaker and dont act like uguues before even starting.

Aaand last this is just for @gbwead, he has opened his mouth countless times in this last week only to shittalk our team or manager, saying that he would play all 3 slots and all kind of nonsense bullshit, just to find out that Zhiko picked for his 2 players with most wins in formats that (surprise) he doesnt even play. I dont know if you'll ever get tired of looking like a clown, but to add insult injury all I heard from you since I started in this game is that you play for people and you arent even playing this PSL but yet you insist on taking the lead on every accusation against us, get a life srsly.
