  4. First off I'd like to thank Onraider for hosting and Parke for helping, I've known Onraider for a bit over 2 years now. Through that whole time Onraider was one of my best friends in the game. My favourite memory has to be winning our first Team Tournament with OpTic. To set the stage here I joined OpTic at a low point in the year with them losing multiple of their main members. I was quickly thrown into a position where I was playing TTs for them and starting when I myself wasn't confident. This quickly became the past with us in just a short few months making Team Tournament Finals. This was the spark we needed to go on a tear of making Finals three months in a row but sadly failing to finish it out in those three months. At this point we felt like we were on top of the World sky rocketing up the overall rankings each month but the seed of doubt was there whether or not we could finish out and finally win one. Well this was all silenced the very next month. We went on an amazing run with players like Edstorm going 2-0, Kuramush going 2-1, Onraider and Halott killing it as well, and of course the dubs player in Yjos, TehKharma and I. I seriously can't thank everyone enough that were in that OpTic roster. This single experience was the greatest experience I've had in my PokeMMO Life. We ended up going to win Team Of The Year which was the cherry on top of it all.

Although I completely agree that this would be an amazing addition to the doubles metagame, the trouble is trying to convince the developers to code for an item that would only affect a minor metagame, as you say, with only a few niche options in singles.

So aside from satey goggles, my question is: should the sleep clause be reconsidered altogether given the increase in viable grass types?

Personally? Yeah I think it should be. Safetly Goggles would be nice but I think the current meta is fine without if we remove Sleep Clause. The increase in viable grass types, with Taunt and Sub being ever more popular I think it'd be fine. The meta would obviously take a bit to settle down from such a big change but overall I still think it'd be fine. Sorry for taking awhile to get back to you had to think about it.

  6. Well time to revive this chat. I'm here to discuss the possibility of adding "Safety Goggles" to the game and removing Sleep Clause from the Doubles format. I currently feel like with where the meta is at this would be a good addition. Currently there is more than enough Grass types circulating (I.E. Serperior, Rotom Mow, Amoongus, Ludicolo to name a few) that there is adequate counter play to Spore and Sleep Powder (The main forms of sleep in Doubles). As well this would increase the use of Sun which is currently pretty poor into the meta and add more counter play into Trick Room and even Follow me style teams. Also with the addition of "Safety Goggles" it would really only effect the Doubles meta game aside a few niche option in singles. Would also add a much needed shake up to the current stale meta game in Doubles.

  7. Okay now with the first MvA of OpTc is over I can announce the winners!
Round 1 - Magma won with a total score of 35! A lot of 31s were caught this event xd (Aqua had 24 points)
Round 2 - Aqua strikes back with 5 total bonus numbers! Just barely beating Magma who had 4!
Round 3 - Magma kind of beat down Aqua here having a score of 29 against Aqua's 16!

Total Score - 2-1 Magma Wins!!!
GG Everyone it was fun hosting please give me feedback on the event and tell me if you liked it! I would love to host this every other month or if we get enough support maybe monthly!

    Rules

    • There are 3 clauses, and the winning team will be determined by winning 2 out of 3 clauses:

      Spoiler

      Clause 1 - Having 31 IVs in a Stat

Players will submit all of their valid catches, these are pokemon that have at least 1 x 31 in one of their stats, each pokemon submitted will earn their team 1 point. The team with the most perfect stats will be awarded the round win.

      Clause 2 - Bonus Numbers

I will assign each team 5 Bonus IV Totals and for each bonus number a player submits, there will be 1 point awarded towards their team. For example, Aqua has 104, 108, 110, 113, 119 as their bonus numbers. Each player will be able to submit one of each number to score a point for their team. The team that catches the most bonus numbers will be declared winner of Round 2.

In the event of a tie leading to a round win split, I will ask members of each team to submit the opposing team's bonus numbers to me to subtract points from the opponent.

Clause 3 - Highest IV Total

In this round points will be awarded for the 5 highest Total IV submissions from all players.

      for example:

      Aqua = A / Magma = M

      A - Pinkwings - 160 - +10
      M - Ploegy - 155 - +9
      A - Zane - 153 - +8
      A - Dumbcas - 147 - +7
      M - Baldyads - 144 - +6

      M = +15 / A = +25

Aqua wins Round 3 in this example.

In the unlikely chance that there is a tie, I would then use the next 5 highest submissions I received to try to break the tie.

The team that wins 2/3 rounds will win the event and the prize money to be split between the members of the winning team.

Ideally the event will be held stupid time but can be rescheduled if it clashes with another event.

    • If teams are too lopsided I will even them out through random selection

    Team Prize

    3M + 10 Shiny Charms

    Rules

    • You need to find another player to be your partner to register.

    • You can come up with the team's name for this event and report to NecasInTrouble or BaliAds. Otherwise, the default name (i.e. No.01) shall be given.

    • In case your partner is missing at the time of event, you shall be grouped together with another player and your team's name will be combined/replaced/renamed.

    • If there is no player to group with, you can play solo.

    • To win 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places that are sorted by high to low, your team needs to the one that submits the entry earliest and reach the furthest in the race track per time. If solo racer is among top 2, the racer can only get 75% total prize.

    • The Bonus Prize will be determined by highest total combined IVs of all Pokemon submitted by 1 team. (Prizes will be split between teammates)

    • You must return with your partner to Lake Verity to submit your entries per route. Once both players have submitted the host will tell you you're free to go to the next route. You may fly back to the closest town to the route you were on. You may not start catching in the next route until BOTH players have submitted their entry. (This is to help stop cheating and submitting at different times for you and your partner)

    • Entries need to follow the racing track pathway shown on the map above.
    • Both team members need to submit two entries total per area (one entry each member) that have at least 230 IV total before going to the next area. In solo case, the requirement is two entries total per area with at least total 210 IV.
    • If one member of the team manages to catch a shiny, the team can move on from the current area and skip 1 area regardless of its IV. Example: Moving from Rt 201 to Rt 204 without Rt 202.
    • Submit entries on Normal chat at Lake Verity (for hosts to see entries ) to proceed to the next area. No other chat will be accepted.
    • Players can enter the event with only one account/character.
    • All Pokémon must be caught within the event time and at the correct area location.
    • All Pokémon must remain unchanged (untrained/unevolved...).
    • You must be the OT of the Pokémon.
    • In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by earliest catch time of the final latest entry given by a team member. The latest entry from the duo will be used for time evaluation.
    • If a team is stuck in a route for more than 10 minutes they may proceed to the next route in question just let the staff know. You must submit your highest catch still. (This is to not mess up your chance at the bonus prize)
    • If there aren't enough players 1 of the hosts may take place in the race to help even teams or anything else.
    • Any attempts to cheat such as submitting an invalid entry will result in disqualification.
