  1. Until we find a healthy balance between offense and defense in the metagame (e.g. Bringing back potential stuff like Swords Dance Garchomp, more legendaries, etc) and also not dropping overpowered stuff like Lucario in the past (UU) and recently Medicham (NU), I'll be against adding more regenerator mons in the near future.

People need to remember that this meta isn't complete and works completely different to Showdown.

Hi people, i dont have such a large time playing pokemmo, but i have never seen dittos price to get down like i have seen yesterday, Can someone see if there is some kind of botting in Desert Underpass? Is this the correct place to ask this? If not where i should? Thank you in advance. Also im a dev, i know more than 14 programming languages, if need help with bots i can tell you how to ban them forever.

Ditto are extremely common at Route 47 in Johto, quite a lot of people are around that area so that could potentially be a factor?

  3. It's still early days but already within the first few days, Medicham has become the highest used mon in NU (the new Blaziken) with over 60% win rate (this was significantly higher before). From what I've seen, the most dangerous set is the Life Orb one with Close Combat/Drain Punch, Psycho Cut, Thunder Punch and Ice Punch. It's not only extremely difficult to predict the moveset it's going to use, but also whether it's running Life Orb or Choice Scarf.

I saw someone say that with Life Orb you're vulnerable to continuous recoil damage + additional chip from Rocky Helmet, but both players are forced to overpredict like a game of chess to ensure it's correct. Not only that but Medicham can comfortably regain that damage back from Drain Punch. There's also the Bulk Up set which I've personally not seen much, but can also be a dangerous sleeper.

Of course we should encourage creativity to adapt to changes, but I've seen players running Wobbuffet and Dusknoir, even fully defensive Mismagius, stuff that would barely be viable in the general meta.

Gallade was a similar wallbreaker with great offensive pressure, but it had to use Swords Dance to utilise its full potential against stall teams, whereas Medicham already has a great ability with Huge Power.

I feel that Medicham forces you to restrict teambuilding heavily, especially when you also have to consider Blastoise (another Pokemon I've seen cleaning games but that's another issue) and potentially Milotic.

I'll spectate more ladder and tournament games especially the shiny officials where more experienced players play to make a final judgement, but as it stands there's no doubt that Medicham is too strong for NU and should never have dropped down in the first place (we can blame the weather meta in UU for that), and therefore I think Medicham should be quickbanned.

  4. I would like to thank you for your transparency and better late than never, I definitely would appreciate more of this type of communication in the future. I think by making huge announcements like this, it gives players more time to prepare for the meta changes and make the appropriate investments to purchase/upgrade their Pokemon.

Anyway, if you guys look deeper into this - readding Draco Meteor to Hydreigon, slightly increasing the buff back to Gallade and also some additional power creep shows that the devs are keen to implement regen Alomomola, Slowbro/Slowking and Tangela/Tangrowth but want to try and find the reasonable balance between offensive and defensive gameplay.

Having said that, I'm sure we'll also get the legendary birds and other stuff soon... but Heavy Duty Boots should definitely not be added anytime soon.

@Imperial Venusaur was a peculiar pokemon to evaluate and we needed some extra time, then usage changed everything. If it ever drops again, we'll probably vote unless things are drastically different. We are also taking into consideration where Ninetales drops to eventually, but that's a slow process.

I completely understand about Venusaur since Gigalith was restricting it from the main concern of Chlorophyll, although the standard set seemed pretty strong in the tier (definitely A+ at least).

I was more curious about stuff like Venomoth.

Stronk, but not broken. Looking forward to it naturally moving to UU by usage regardless. Praise be to Ninetales.

Genuine question and not having a dig, how come the members of Tier Council would rather wait for something to rise by usage instead of voting on it even after enough time has passed? Venomoth is a good example, despite having enough time to evaluate it people left it and it rose to UU, now it's dropping back to NU we still don't know whether it's staying or getting banned to BL2.

  7. The spike in players is probably because of the implementation of Johto, alongside people being on summer break and others coming back because of the news of legends, new HAs etc.

The spike will probably drop around end of September/October, then rise again for the event seasons and drop off again from there. I'd say in general that November-February are probably the busiest months since that's when we have event season and PSL.

Yea they do. Sun and Rain would be decently viable if these mons dropped, not saying gamebreaking or instant banworthy but definitely would have a big impact

To be honest it will likely be a huge weather war between Sun vs Rain/Sand. I just feel sorry for Empoleon at this point especially with it also having to deal with Porygon-Z/Yanmega/Sigilyph amongst other things.

This is the real problem ! We waited 6 month between Shaymin and Suicune and I dont see how we can deal with it without dropping other legendaries and/or some broken HA.
If we assume we get legendaries at each "major" event we can potentially at the end the year get 2 new legendaries (with entei + raikou that might probably come without new update).

I dont see which combo of legendaries can come into the game and stop suicune without breaking the tier themselve.

I agree and I think there are a few fundamental problems I've witnessed:

    • The fact that we have an incomplete meta, meaning that when a legendary comes it either sinks into oblivion (Shaymin) or it becomes too strong for the top tier because we don't have other legends and tools to balance it out. If we get legendaries slowly, it'll take a long time for this 'meta' to be complete, but at the same time, how legendaries are being implemented is not cost-efficient for many competitive players and you'll likely need to spend between 10-20m for perfect comps (I think sweet addressed this issue on another thread)
    • The fact that if something is implemented (Sharpness Gallade), a large section of the community complains because it ruins their playstyle (6 wall stall) and teamcores, but when something just as potentially 'broken' drops (Suicune), that same group tells everyone that they're making a fuss and need to adapt
    • People claiming that releasing Regenerator Slowbro/Slowking would be healthy for the metagame in its current state because of its 'offensive' pressure of Future Sight and Teleport when we already see how centralising Amoongus is and we don't have the tools to heavily pressure these regen mons
    • MMO trying to be niche and implementing gen 8/9 mechanics in what was supposed to be a gen 5 metagame, although making room for many opportunities in the PvP scene, also making the meta completely unpredictable and unstable

Things will definitely smoothen out, but these will probably be the common occurrences.

AV rade isn't even considered here tbh, this is a specific Mon, with a specific set who can't even do her work 100% of times, it loses vs 2 atk cune, loses vs cm rest cune if she switches into a cm, and has difficulty to break vincune in 1v1 , it really deserves a suspect lol, the only 100% counter until now is taunt jellicent, until someone start to run 2atk cune w hp grass

Obviously I don't know what goes on in the background, but they added Raikou and Entei in the Pokedex so I'm pretty sure they'll be introduced fairly soon - Raikou will probably help balance Suicune out in OU.

We'll most likely be seeing more stuff added, and at worst if Suicune is proven to be too broken (I think people will adapt), they'll probably nerf it by removing Calm Mind like they nerfed Garchomp and Hydreigon.
