  4. I like the thought process of wanting to spice pvp with new stuff. But I think adding new pvp categories that require farming is in general a double-edged move. People almost never run out of OU comps to breed, let alone UU or NU. The grind is practically infinite, and they already have such a high bar to enter the comp scene. So if a new category takes away grinding time from the primary formats on top of that, it's not necessarily the healthiest addition. Good additional formats, imo, are the ones that do not require grinding at all, things like randoms, metronome cup, (arguably doubles where you can use your OU comps to an extent), monotype format, stab format, freaking--bandstorm, 1v1 ... you get the idea. Reusing existing comps in new ways will breathe life into pvp, but making people grind more is not my recommended solution. Not to mention catching wild pokemon with good ivs already has plenty of incentive, since they're used as breeding materials. If you're still intent on this idea despite these criticisms, you could always try hosting an unofficial tournament with this ruleset and evaluate the community's reception to it.

    PokeMMO Vanity Index

    PokeMMO Vanity Index Have you ever wondered what are the names of all the vanities out there on PokeMMO? The goal of this guide is to provide you a clothing brochure so you can easily find the vanity that you are looking for. When constructing this guide, I made sure that you can use "CNTL + F" or the "Find In Page" feature for easier pinpointing. This guide's pictures were made using @BlueNose's Dressroom website. However, the website is no longer in operation. The good news is now @squickGianno has added the Cosmetic Showroom once more! Thank you to @YIBU and him for making this happen! Feel free to try out this fun website yourself: https://pokemmo.eulify.app/tools/cosmetics As for the format order of how the clothes are listed, I went in order according to how the Dressroom website has listed the clothing. For the future Fishing Rod vanities, I added a section on Fishing Rods since this section is listed in your Customizations Window in game. I hope everyone enjoys exploring through the PokeMMO Vanity Index!

  12. The idea is essentially, some wild Pokemon could have a very low chance to hold wear-able cosmetic items for your character. Some examples being: Squirtle holding blue tinted sunglasses, Mr. Mime holding a purple handbag, or even a Pikachu holding a baseball cap with a very similar hat design to Ash's. (Edit: Heck you could even make a cosmetic that can only show up on a shiny, allowing shiny hunters to flex ever harder haha) To avoid bloating the cosmetic market I would also suggest that these unique cosmetics aren't trade-able. This would offer a collection challenge, alongside earned cosmetics outside of the regular purchased items. This could also be engineered to bring some attention back to Pokemon that are hunted far less than others.

    Player Profile

    I don't know what many will think of this suggestion, but i have thought about player profiles, when we want to add a person we go to the friends menu and below we select add friend, but it would be nice that when we want to add them, it gives us information about their profile, something where you have achievements, like if i managed to stay in the ranking for a season, if you've been playing for more than 1 year, how many hours, etc. i understand that most of the information is in the user file, but you can only see it yourself, maybe if the person who wants to add you could see it, it would be something unique, what do you think?

If they are in matchmaking dont show me any of their matches. If they are in an officiall tournament replace thier name with "BLOCKED PLAYER". Just erase them from my sight. I dont even want to buy any of their trades or OT mons on gtl by mistake. If they so happen to win a tournament or contest please don't show me their name in announcements.

  17. After some major fiddling around I have some interesting results to report. I setup the game exactly as I had it on my phone (S22 Ultra) on another Android device (Galaxy Tab A7). Importing a music mod did work on the Galaxy Tab and the music was playing so working mod. However after reinstalling everything on my S22 Ultra. The same working music mod on the Tab A7 did not work on the S22 Ultra. Import was successful just non working music. Also this issue is not isolated to a single music mod. I've tried several music mods and all have the same result. Support did get back to me and verified that the mod imported successfully and they werent sure why it wasnt working from the client side of things based on an error log report I sent in. So now I think we've narrowed it down to device/android version territory. Galaxy Tab running Android 10 works but S22 Ultra running Android 12 does not.

  18. I've seen them in the past and do love the idea. I've been considering doing one but there's a lot of planning required. Also there's more moderation required with the checking of teams and the players have to put in quite a lot of effort so the reward must be worth it. Anyway, I have a lot of new/reused stuff coming soon so keep an eye out... I would love to pull one of these out though. Maybe Whenever I need some inspiration on events, I always check your old threads haha. One of the goats of fun and unique events.

  20. The brokenness of legends doesn't only affect pvp but also balancing the economy. With everyone using legends things like gym runs and e4 rebattles become effortless. This cause a massive influx of cash eventually leading to that cash losing value. It is the same reason why they wont let garchomp have swords dance, shedinja's ability fails after a few turns or hydreigon doesn't learn draco. Its an attempt to stop people from beating high level npcs too easily. People might argue gyms are already broken or too easy cause of the typholosions strats but i dont expect that to stay like that for too long. I wouldnt be suprized if they nerfed typholosions some how next update. Dont get me wrong though I want to have legends too but there is simply no way to let people have OP legends permanently without either breaking the game or fraustrating people ( the Zekrom treatment ?)

  23. 2 months ago, a few of our more attentive players noticed that March 29th 2022 would be the 10th anniversary of the forums coming online. As a brief history lesson for everyone, the first public test of the game started a few weeks later in April 2012, then the "alpha" (now known as PokeMMO Epsilon™) was released in June 2012. While originally we were just planning on a large content update to commemorate the date, maybe throw in some massive tournament or something, we had the brilliant idea to instead make a one-time event outside of what we call "event season"- the period of Halloween/Christmas/Chinese New Year where we normally don't permit large, breaking changes so as to not interrupt the events by leaving you with an unplayable video game. "Get hyped" we said, because it'd be good. Then, despite our better judgment, we doubled down by not only giving ourselves a deadline to come up with something and get it out, but a public deadline. Several in fact, and we've managed to blow all of them in a fantastic fashion. Today marks the date of our 4th deadline being missed, and I'm happy to announce that we're commemorating this feat of project logistics by releasing the Torch & Pitchfork Seasonal items. These items will be available until the next update releases. We expect that to be Soon™ish, probably around Two Weeks™, but we're giving ourselves some leeway so we don't need to make more announcements about announcements. When we get there, this will also be an unusual update process. We'll be breaking it into a 3 part series: The major, fragile changes will occur before the event. This will be our launch of the open beta iOS client, general changes like moveset updates, bug fixes, and a large suite of scripting changes to help us support future regions. A few days later, after we're sure that the game's not completely busted, the event will start. Finally, after the event ends, a new permanent feature will launch. We'll keep that one a surprise for now. Until then, See you Soon™!

  24. PokeDex (PokeMMO Version) Troubleshooting Credits: Thank you @LeZenor and @YIBU for trying to help me with this PokeDex Guide. Number 63 (abra) was giving me quite a bit of some trouble. As of the time of making this guide, I had to split pokemon data into sets of 25 pokemon per post with certain exceptions. Thank you @Deviluke for cleaning up the Guide's extra posts and @SecretDjinn for moving this guide to the Guide Tavern. Thank you @Rynner for your contribution to the Burmy→Wormadam wild location and evolution line. Thank you @JuliusMarch for showing me the Mobile "Find in Page" feature on the mobile devices. Thank you @ty76hj for giving us an early look into Johto Locations. I added them into the guide. Hello, welcome to the PokeDex Guide for PokeMMO! People asked me where to catch certain pokemon for their Dex, so I decided to make a guide to refer people to (not to mention, you also need to at least see all the pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex in order to be given the National Dex in game which can let you access areas that would of been gated off otherwise). This guide would like to make life easier for those who either need to document a certain pokemon or for a Breeder who would like to have quick hand knowledge of what Egg Group a pokemon is in. Here is how I plan on applying the information: Ie: -------------------------------------------------- Beta Concept: 304. Pokemon (Egg Group) New Concept: I would like to thank @YIBU for consulting me on a better way to document the Dex information. So now this Dex project is a joint venture! - 2/25/2020 Also, thank you @JuliusMarch for showing me the search option on mobile devices! - 4/22/2021 Note: The exterior will remain the same, but the interior (or the Spoiler of the Guide) is going to be quite different. -------------------------------------------------- To make life a bit easier, I would like to list all the Egg Groups so you can copy and paste them into your CNTL + F search tool on laptop or if you are on mobile, copy the egg group in your clipboard and click on the three dots to the top right of your device, then click on "Find In Page": Monster Water A Bug Flying Field Fairy Plant Humanoid Mineral Water C Chaos Water B Ditto Dragon Cannot Breed Genderless Note: Pokemon in the "Genderless" Egg Groups can breed with themselves as long as they are in the same evolution line like Metang and Metagross. I wish everyone well with their Dex Completion or Breeding Projects. For anyone that wants more detail on how to Breed here on PokeMMO, then you can either check out the Guide version of the process or my self help video that I made with @Lin about the topic. If you would like to see a list of Pokemon based upon their respective Egg Group, then feel free to check out the Pokemon Egg Group Index (PokeMMO Version). Feel free to check out the ItemDex Guide for the available item list for a pokemon and Egg Moves for certain Pokemon can be listed in the Egg Move Index Guide. If you would like to know Swarm information, then you can check out the Swarms in PokeMMO Guide (2nd Edition). If you would like to know the different Phenomenon Locations and Types, then feel free to check out @MightyBoxer's Phenomenon Locations Guide. If you would like to know the mechanics of Lures and Pokemon Lure Locations, then feel free to check out @MustangCZ's Lure Guide. If you would like to know more about Shaymin, then feel free to check out @Edwardinho's Shaymin Guide. If you would like to know more about Suicune, Raikou, and Entei, then feel free to check out @Damian's Legendary Beasts FAQ. If you would like to know more about all the Legendaries, then feel free to check out @Amitai's Completing the PokeDex: Legendary Pokemon Guide. If you would like to see only the Encounters in each route, then feel free to check out the Pokemon Encounters for PokeMMO Guide. If you would like to see the Experience Types for each Pokemon listed, then I have a Pokemon Experience Level Index for PokeMMO. For an entire list of all the Abilities and what Pokemon can have them, then feel free to check out the PokeMMO Ability Index. For an entire list of the Pokemon's Base Stats, then feel free to check out the Pokemon Base Stat Index for PokeMMO. For an entire list of all the Pokemon Evolutions, then feel free to check out the Pokemon Evolution Index for PokeMMO. For a list of some useful Items a wild pokemon could hold, then feel free to check out my PokeMMO Item Dex (2nd Edition) Guide.

  25. Johto will happen eventually. Probably. Soon(tm). But the continuity issues are still a factor (unless you just want to ignore them) and the same goes for Black/White 2. Both Gen2 and the Gen5 sequels take place two years in the future from their respective direct predecessors. Some won't care about that, but for others, it's a continuity hole that will cause them to literally lose sleep. But you see, the problem contains the solution: Time travel. In order to port to Johto from any of the existing regions, instead of getting on a boat, you enter a time machine and travel two years into the future. That way, all story inconsistencies and differences between the two Kantos are accounted for. If you start in Johto, then you just time travel back in time once you get at least four badges. Simple as breaking all the known laws of time and space. This also opens the door for the BW sequels down the line if that is content the devs would wish to pursue purely for PvE content purposes (which is mostly the reason Johto would be included anyway, as we already have gen 2 pokemon). You could also travel by boat between Johto or Future Kanto to Future Unova. The original gen2 games already had a time machine feature that let you communicate with past games, so that concept can just be repurposed to preserve continuity. Problem solved.

  28. That pretty much defeats the purpose of getting legendaries in the first place ?. Whats the point of having them if they arent going to be used for pve and you cant use them for pvp as you so rightly pointed out that there is no uber tier on pokemmo. They handled this legendary situation brilliantly. OP legendaries should be borderline unobtainable. People should have to have accomplished something beyond special to pokemmo to be able to get them. They should have contributed to the point that we find it acceptable for them to go brainless in gym runs or e4 runs. Take this guy for example. You can read that post or ask the guy yourself to find out exactly how he earned that. ( he got rewarded that pokemon as a special thanks )- this is the only way and should forever remain the only way to get OP legends And even then not everyone should get them to the point of making an ubers tier. So no OP legends for you ?

  38. With Kanto cleared it was time to move on to Hoenn. Once I moved in to my new home in LittleRoot Town I went and introduced myself to the neighbors. On my way home I heard someone screaming for help coming from route 101, so I did the reasonable thing: I went to eat dinner because I was hungry. Once I had a full belly I went to solve the screaming crisis and grabbed the treecko sitting on the floor and saved Professor Birch from his zigzagoon attacker. After being his savior I was given the treecko as a reward and after easily defeating May, me and Greenbean started our adventure. CH 1: After the great success I had with encounters in Kanto I was excited to see what pokemon I would find in Hoenn. Sadly when compared to Kanto the encounters from this adventure were very disappointing. After helping Wally take 2 seconds to catch a Raltz and saying hi to my "Dad?" I made my way to Rusboro City. The trip there was very uneventful, encountering mainly zigzagoons (including one named Poptart on route 102) and poochyenas and a silcoon in the Petalburg Woods where I also saved a mushroom enthusiast. I did however manage to find a nincada named Kit Kat on route 116. Although Kit Kat would be nice on the team he would be a liability for the first gym so was put safely in the PC with the rest of the reserves. With Greenbean being the main pokemon at the time it didnt take him long to evolve into a Grovyle and easily defeat Roxanne and get our first badge. CH 2: After beating the gym we fought and defeated may again using Poptart, rescued a guys kidnapped bird, and was sent off as a delivery boy. The guy who's bird I saved now owed me and offered to drive me around the waters in his boat, which we quickly used to get to Dewford town. Once there we completed our delivery in Granite Cave. We also found Beetroot the Zubat there too. With this delivery completed we made our way back to Rusboro City where we were rewarded for our delivery with an exp share. With Beetroot still a low level Greenbeen again easily defeated Brawly and earned us our second gym badge. CH 3: With badge number 2 secured, we went to Slateport and liberated the museum from team aqua, and continued on to Mauville City. On the way there Poptart evolved into a Linoone, and Beetroot into Golbat. Once evolved Beetroot single handedly defeated May's team on route 119. Originally I would have liked maybe an aron, but when preparing for the fight with may I realized that an aron would have been the death of me. Beetroot was the only pokemon at the time that stood a chance at taking on May's combusken. All other pokemon on our team and in reserves were weak to either fire or fighting. After Beetroot mopped the floor with Wally we took on Wattsons gym for our third badge. Greenbeen and Poptart easily won this badge for us. CH 4: On our way north to Fallarbor town we bumped into a maril we named Blueberry who then evolved into an azumaril. Once we passed through Fallarbor town we made our way to Meteor falls where we bumped into team magma and then looped back to Mt Chimney and defeated Team Magma and their leader Maxie. With this victory we went to Lavaridge town for our fourth gym battle against Flannery. Her Torkoal did a lot of damage due to its drought powering up its moves, but once the sun faded Blueberry was able to easily defeat her and earn us our fourth badge. CH 5: With this new badge May gave us some goggles to go into the desert where we got Artichoke the sandshrew who quickly evolved into a Sandslash. We made our way back to Petalburg City to face our father for our 5th gym badge. While clearing the trainers in the gym we made sure to avoid the "1 hit KO" room, for reasons I think we can all understand. Although we had a team of five (Poptart, Greenbean, Beetroot, Artichoke, and Blueberry) I was very concerned. Although most of my dads team is easy to deal with, slaking hits like a truck. The fight started off really well, with Greenbeen taking out his vigaroth and catching Slaking mid swap for some free damage. Slaking was in the red, but managed to land a critical hit facade and killed Greenbeen in a single hit. Artichoke came in to finish the fight to get us our fifth badge but the damage was sadly done, Greenbean was gone. CH 6: With surf now owned we went up north and found a Swablu we named frosting on route 115. We also restored power in New Mawville for Wattson and found Cranberry the voltorb while where. We also caught Colgate the wingul while surfing through Dewford Town. We then made our way east and liberated the weather institute from team aqua, defeated may one more time, and made it to Fortree City. It was around there on route 120 we managed to find an absol. This absol and frosting looked like this could be the turning point with our encounters.... but then poptart crit it and killed it.... so no absol for us. Regardless we evolved frosting into an altaria, and Cranberry into an electrode and defeated Winona. Originally the plan was to use Frosting to sing her team to sleep and use ice beam we taught him from the abandoned ship, but after missing 5 out of 6 sings and taking way too much damage, Frosting came back and Cranberry came in to defeat her team. and with that we got badge number 6. CH 7: With our new badge we continued east and went to Mt. Pyre to defeat team aqua again. Sadly when fighting the last trainer in the tower at Mt. Pyre their wobbuffet was able to mirror coat and kill Blueberry. Wobbuffet truly is the bane of my existence and in came Colgate (now pelliper) as our new water type. With Mt. Pyre cleared we learned of team magmas hideout and went to deal with them there. Once nearing the end of the hideout we fought a magma admin. This was a disaster. Artichoke was able to defeat his Camerupt, but the burn left behind sadly killed Artichoke. After this Frosting was sent in to allow the rest of the team to heal, but was killed by a critical hit ice fang from the admin's mightyena. The rest of the team was able to defeat the admin but we had lost 2 great members and realized we had to do some leveling before we were ready to face Maxie up ahead. Once trained we faced and defeated Maxie but were forced to sacrifice Fritters and Pomegranite, two tentacools we had caught on route 106 and route 122. Once we released Groudon (whoops) we made our way to Lillycove where we defeated May one last time and entered the team aqua hideout. We cleared the hideout and retrieved the masterball, but an admin was able to prevent us from getting to the submarine by killing Colgate. With no idea where the submarine went we made our way to Mossdeep city for our seventh gym battle. As this was a double psychic battle I needed some pokemon to deal with them. We flew back to Petalburg and used a super rod we got in Mossdeep city to catch Lobster Ravioli the corphish who evolved into a crawdaunt. we also caught Chowder the Sharpedo on route 124. While leveling Chowder he was killed in a random trainer battle..... so in came Star Fruit, another sharpedo we caught on route 131, but when fighting the gym's second trainer's kadabra was killed in 1 shock wave..... so in came T-Bone Steak, a duskull we caught at Mt. Pyre. Once evolved into a dusclops, T-Bone Steak and Lobster Ravioli went in to fight Tate & Liza for our seventh gym. Although we had the type advantage this gym was tough. As it was a two vs two fight it meant that one pokemon would most likely get targeted, and with T-Bone Steak and Lobster Ravioli being really slow I had to be really careful. However once into the fight it wasn't looking good. Immediately T-Bone Steak was burned due to a fire gem boosted heat wave, and then his defenses lowered due to a shadow ball. Once T-Bone Steak was swapped out for Poptart they immediately focused on Lobster Ravioli, who was able to buy time using protect. In the end I had to swap pokemon to constantly change the enemy's targeting, but both Cranberry and Beetroot were killed after being double targeted by psychic. Their deaths were not in vain as we sadly claimed our seventh badge. CH 8: With the last gym in sight we stopped at the research station in Mossdeep and together with Steven defeated team magma (with some close calls) With dive now available we found the stolen submarine and faced Archie. Lobster Ravioli was able to set up some swords dances and able to defeat him, but did have some close calls. With Archie defeated, Kyogre awoke (double whoops) and started chaos with Groudon. We made our way to Sootopolis and learned of Rayquaza who we went to go have this mess sorted. Once Rayquaza silenced the fighting all three pokemon left and we were good to fight the final gym. Although we were at the final gyms doors we had to work on replacing our lost members to deal with this gym. In came Lemon Drop the Electrike from route 118. But sadly while training Lemon Drop was killed due to a Breloom landing a critical bullet seed after a long battle. With no more electric type and grass types countered due to ice attacks, we went into Juan's gym with Cruton the Golbat (from the Seafloor Cavern), French Fries the Peliper (from route 107), Lobster Ravioli, Poptart, and T-Bone Steak. This gym ended up being incredibly tough due to my lack of preparation as many pokemon on Juan's team ended up knowing moves I wasnt expecting, mainly close combat which prevented Lobster Ravioli from setting up swords dance and sadly crited Poptart. By the end of the battle we lost Poptart, Cruton, and French Fries. With this last gym badge we were able to make our way to the Hoenn League. CH 9: With the disaster of the last two gyms I decided I wanted a full and prepared team before entering victory road. After thinking long and hard on a team to deal with the elite four, and then taking an even longer time to level them we ended up with this: Smoked Brisket the Torkoal from the Fiery Path, T-Bone Steak the duskull from Mt. Pyre. Kit the Ninjask from route 116 (who split from Kit Kat into Kit the Ninjask and Kat the Shedninja), Fun Dip the Sabely from Sky Pillar, Ice Cube the Walrein from Shoal Cave, and Nachos the Sandslash from route 111. Although Lobster Ravioli was still around and won many battles, his low speed and weaknesses caused me much stress during our fights and ultimately decided not to use him on our final team. With this team we easily defeated Wally one last time and made our way through Victory Road. We did have one close call with Fun Dip after a critical gem boosted earth power left him on one hp. In the end we made it to the Pokemon League. Once everyone was up to lvl 58 we were ready to face the elite four. First up was the dark type member Sidney. Originally Kit was planned to set up a swords dance and single handedly sweep his team. However plans change, and after almost dying multiple times from a single hit, was swapped out. In the end Smoked Brisket, Fun Dip, and Kit were able to defeat him. Phoebe the ghost type member was next, but after T-Bone Steak used willow-o-wisp to burn her dusknior and weaken its attacks, Nachos came in, set up three swords dances, and was able to one hit KO her entire team. Next was Glacia who used ice types. Ice Cube and Smoked Brisket were able to deal with most of her team but then in came her walrein. This fight wasnt tough, but it just ended up taking so long. Walrein's defenses were too high to one or even two hit KO, while also having strong attacks preventing Kit or Nachos from setting up swords dances, not to mention the constant rest/sleep talking she did. In the end T-Bone Steak won by stalling out all of her moves using her pressure ability. Finally it was the dragon type member Drake. Not much to talk about here, Ice Cube + aura beam + nevermelt ice = 1 hit KO his entire team. Finally came Wallace and his water types. Smoked Brisket was constantly swapped in to trigger a drought and weaken any water attacks and Ice Cube had learned toxic who was able to take care of his milotic and wailord. Gyrados came in and T-Bone Steak was able to burn him, which provoked Wallace to swap him out for tentacruel, so in came Nachos. Nachos was able to defeat tentacruel but had a very close call with death. When ludicolo came in out went T-Bone Steak again to burn him and then swap out to Kit. But Kit ended up getting hit by an unexpected ice beam mid swap and killed in one hit. T-Bone steak came in to hex the ludicolo to death. Finally came wiscash who T-Bone Steak easily burned and also hexed to death. And with that we were the champion. CH 10: With the league defeated we went home and were invited to go to the battle frontier. While on the boat we happened to find some leftovers to go with our T-Bone Steak, and eventually made it to our final destination. Once at the battle frontier we got our last encounter: Waffles the pelliper. We also attempted to catch a smeargle in Artisan cave, but after failing to sketch due to T-Bone Steaks slow speed, refused to get caught and struggled himself to death. and with that our Hoenn journey was completed. Although this journey started way better than our kanto adventure, we had terrible luck with encounters and had chaos occur near the end. Overall Hoenn was way more stressful than I would have imagined and will probably take my time before attempting Sinnoh next. Survivors: Smoked Brisket, T-Bone Steak, Ice Cube, Fun Dip, Nachos Reserves (in order caught): Licorice, Twizlers, Strudel, Cotton Candy, Kat, Popcorn, Vegemite, Pastry, Molten Lava Cake, Leek, Rocky Road, Bear Claw, PB and J, Tilapia, Boysenberry, Lasagna, Wine (since the original name grape is not allowed?), Radish, Lobster Ravioli, Pork Belly, Angel Hair, Rib-eye, Tomato, Parsnip, Short rib, Ribs, Tenderloin, Oyster, Rock Cod, Ring Pop, Carmel Corn, Waffles Losses (in order): Greenbean, Blueberry, Frosting, Artichoke, Fritters, Pomegranate, Colgate, Chowder, Star Fruit, Beetroot, Cranberry, Lemon Drop, Poptart, Cruton, French Fries, Kit Thanks for reading. 43. Kanto is basically done going by frontsprites, due to a great effort by @laGashetaHardcore. A lot of decent moemon need backsprites. Here are some moemon that frontsprites need litter or no work. I have added link in the OP to sprite collections which can be raided for backsprites. I am working on Growlithe myself. These frontsprites are not final though so another source could be use. Another sprite appears in the old thread if preferred. Krabby is good. The latest hitmonlee is pixelly. Hitmonchan needs work but not a redesign Kadabra is far too low in quality. Zero stuff exists for mega-starters. That's what's left to Kanto. Here's where I got the mega-beedrill sprite if someone wants to play with that.
