Hi guys ! Today I decided to start a new PokeMMO adventure. Starting with 0$, I'll try to get 100 000 000$ (pure cash), using many methods. Every week, I'll post here a recap, showing every single $ I spent and earned. I won't use alt accounts, so there are methods I won't use, such as Storyline Alt Run. Maybe I will try to use methods from here : And many others methods. _______________________________________________________________ Here are things I own right now, and pokemon I'll use : 30 Days Left Donator Status Ye, I sent all my things to an alt, starting with the less possible. I don't know how long it will take, and I don't really care, the main goal being to enjoy the game ! Well, see you next week for the first recap :) PS : Feel free to ask anything you want to know about it ! :325 points

So like halloween and xmas events are like the single coolest thing in this game people who are inactive for months on end will log and grind this shit 24/7 if we had more week-long periods kind of throughout the year, it'd be swag. personally i want to see valentine's day, though easter might be easier to design / make more sense as a 'main' holiday21 points

Add the winners' usernames to the System Messages
Zymogen and 5 others reacted to WolfgangDamien for a question
I thought it would be kinda cool if the system messages included the usernames of the winners of official tournaments. Heres the current system message: Doing something simple like changing it to "... Congratulations to the winners: First place, Username1! Second place, Username2! And Third place, Username3!" I myself dont usually have time to watch the tournaments, and never really see who wins. I just think it would be a neat little addition.6 points -

A change like this wouldn't benefit players who are working through a bracket on their own. Big teams can easily have one of their members scout the next opponent, just count every 2 downwards. Every alternate pair will be matched up with each other, so it's not like you don't know who you are going to face. Thus, the player playing alone may have no idea of what team his opponent could bring, but his opponent already has a counter team since a teammate has scouted for him. The only people who will benefit from this change are those who are in big teams and have people who can scout. At any rate, doesn't the current system encourage players to use different teams and Pokemon? If people didn't have the ability to scout, they would only run teams they are comfortable with. Moreover, the person who has been scouted can easily change the whole structure of his team to avoid being counter teamed completely, which could in fact, give an upper hand to the person who has been scouted. The fact that people are complaining about being scouted means they aren't creative enough, or ballsy enough, to create different kinds of teams. The main point being that the current system provides an opportunity for solo players to scout their opponent. If that opponent happens to be in a big team, it would even out the playing field since it is likely the person in the bigger team already has scouts on them. On the other hand, the system proposed offers no solution to solo players, and in fact only gives incentive for bigger teams to have people ready to scout. Edit: I have a suggestion, for those who continue to be concerned about the scouting issue. Often times there comes a player who likes to write down the sets and gender of other people's comps, for future reference. Though it may not seem like a big deal, in major tourneys it would let the person who has scouted take an accurate guess as to what the set of the pokemon is. Perhaps censoring the gender when in a PVP battle could provide a more competitive and unpredictable battle system. Though this may be tough to implement, and may not be worth it, I personally feel it's a "step forward in the right direction" as Craig has mentioned before. Just a suggestion at the end of the day tho.6 points

Nuevos Eventos- New Events
Shallos and 4 others reacted to Trainerpika for a question
Translation: Well, I'm not of much involved in the forum, but I've always wanted to make the following suggestion: Implement events that happen throughout the year to allow the game becomes more interesting, there are currently only Halloween and Christmas. What I mean is something that lengthens the story a bit, I think the correct term would be "sidequests" I think most players agree that raising and racing is fun, but an event or secondary mission it is also . PokeMMO not ask that kind of WoW or something becomes so, only a few missions that give you one more reason to play this game.5 points -

If the Battle Interface gets a make-over at some point, I believe having the player sprites included would make it look a lot more personal, as you can see the opponent you're playing. Resizing them could be considered if they do take up too much space, but having the sprites showing during the duel would also make it more obvious who is playing against who and add that personal touch to a duel.5 points

The fact you can literally watch a good bit of the game, and get a good understanding of your opponents team within the 10 minutes timer is a big flaw in my opinion. I suggest the replay system of a tournament should be allowed once the tournament is finished. That is all. EDIT: My bad, I mean the replay system, not spectating lol.4 points

With DS working on the new custom battle ui sprites, Tyrone suggested that the Players' Battle Sprites stay in the UI for the duration of the battle (possibly having animation for withdrawing and throwing pokemon). That way we can enjoy the sprites beyond the few seconds that they appear at the beginning of the battle. I personally want this so that I can showoff my Labcoat for the duration of the battle. Pros: - Aesthetic - Gives more value to vanities Cons: - More work on the Battle UI - More sprite work for DS (especially if he adds in withdraw and throw-out animations) - Doesn't actually add to in-game content and has little to no bearing on player retention. - Unless DS adds NPC sprites to it, there would be an inconsistent Battle UI (meaning that we would likely have to have two different Battle UIs, one for NPCs and one for PvP)4 points

I had the amazing privilege granted to me by the one and only RNG of winning the last ever DPP Round of the Smogon Tour. http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/season-22-week-9-dpp-ou-3-won-by-deepbluec.3585757/ (don't read description below the replay link if you don't want spoilers :) ) R1: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208344 Used a stall team made by tamahome, had a really good matchup and my opponent couldn't do anything about it. R2: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208392 Got lucky with Metagross hitting itself with confusion (ban dynamic punch) and even more lucky with TTar vs Suicune but I think I would've been able to pull it off. The team I used was an offensive team I had seen Tesung using, but not sure if it was made by him. R3: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208417 Haha finally a team I kind of made myself. I built it around an existing core in the RMT section, with Lead Rose + Scarf Tran + CM Jirachi + Offensive Rotom. CroCune proved to be absolute monster it is in this match. R4: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208431 This was a team a user Philip7086 had made. He's probs one of the best builders out there and he has a similar team with Scizor being one of the wincons but Agility Empoleon instead of DD Kingdra as the other. SD Scizor saved my ass and thank god for that heat wave-less Zapdos. R5: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208464 HONOR is another fantastic builder and player. It's the same team I used vs XPLOZ in PSL and was made by a user Jimmy Turtwig. I got incredibly, incredibly lucky with Suicune not getting poisoned vs Tentacruel and props to him for being so cool about it. It was really good to have a lot of smogon users shouting out my name because they needed me to win so that one of their friends (Finchinator) could make playoffs. R6: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208486 Played my mentor mael in a round robin session. He wanted me to use a crazy ass team because BKC (a DPP God) was recording and who wouldn't love some spotlight? Hypnosis Gengar completely threw me off and you can see how bad my memory is because in the end I brought out Suicune vs Gengar when I could've brought out Raikou. Smh at myself but luckily the one turn sleep didn't bite me in the ass. R7: http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/smogtours-gen4ou-208492 I have no idea who this guy, but hey he made it to the finals. Sub Kingdra was a big surprise but I had a bit of luck in this one as well. It's the team I used vs Gunthug in last season PSL, for those who can recall :) All in all, it was a fantastic experience and it was great to see a tutor (mael) and his tutee (myself) tearing it apart. Unfortunately I don't play BW or ORAS so I wasn't able to participate in those tours, but for those of you who do, I'd definitely recommend playing it because it's absolutely worth it.4 points -

Kanga wasn't op at all since LO and specs as it can't wall manec and struggle facing haunter. Kanga is great vs stall as it can't be outstall thanks to rest + early bird. It's actually pretty easy to beat it's being offensive. And paradoxically, I think banning Kanga avantages stall. NB : i'm talking about the stall version3 points

For me the problem lies with the grind it takes to breed comps. A person with 6 comps has a very, very low chance of winning a tournament because no team is perfect or built to handle everything, which is why you need to have different teams which have a better chance of winning depending on what your opponent likes to run. Scouting works both ways, so there's nothing stopping you from changing your team because you can't tell me that your team is rock solid and that after watching your opponent's replay, there was nothing in his team that could pose a big threat to you. Again, the problem lies with people not being able to build different solid teams. If your opponent is solely focused on counterteaming, then he's very well likely to forget to run something to handle a very common threat in the tier. There are also variations in counterteaming, where people run pokemon to either break the opponent's defense, handle the offense or even both. When that happens you're massively restricting yourself and I've heard players say that they've lost because they counterteamed too. The reason people go for cteaming is because it's the easiest approach to get a win apart from running confusion inducing moves (pls ban). Building a solid team with having the better matchup 90% of the time is what makes a good player and playing through having a worse matchup is what makes a better player. Scouting helps you know what sort of playstyle your opponent likes to run, which allows you to better understand their mentality and what kind of plays they make. Like Gazelli said, the proposed system makes it easier for players in bigger teams to be prepared while solo players will have it more difficult. The current system of tournaments makes it fair for both players to be prepared for each other, but it's the access to a larger no. of comps which gives the more experienced player the advantage. The best way to approach this would be to randomize the bracket since then you'll be forced to run a well built team.3 points

I´m done with this pointless discussion. Already said my opinion, its given , period. Anyway, been scrolling through this and I found something fun. Lemme see if I understood it. If you want to place jolteon on your team you are doing it wrong, if you want to add vaporeon, you are also doing it wrong, If you need some Porygon2 to wall some noob that teambuilds wrong and uses jolteon, you are also doing it wrong, if you like offensive starmie and wish to find a spot for it on ur team, you are doing it wrong. Let´s proceed, I want a cool arcanine on my team. Nah, I´m doing it wrong, that gives lax a chance to switch in and body slam away. Hm... let me see what I can use in ST (Snorlax Tier). Oh I see, slowbro was awesome to wall some shit. ... Damn, forgot snorlax comes in and body slam away, I guess Im doing it wrong. After excluding half of OU mons, I realized specs charizard should be op on my team, but nah. Why? Cause im doing it wrong. Want me to continue? I can... You are just proving my point. You can´t teambuild in this ST without a huge overcentralization on the same. Everytime you pick the said 1/3 of the tier, u tend not to because you know snorlax can come in and cripple something. PS: probably my last post, unless something funny shows up. I don´t want to repeat over and over again.2 points

Confusion thread
Suneet and one other reacted to BurntZebra for a topic
Well I watched the match and that really didn't prove anything. So he used swagger twice, snorlax hit itself two times out of four turns (snapped out on second turn of confusion), and just made snorlax a lot stronger vs milotic/rhydon. If anything, that match shows snorlax is the bigger constraint on the OU tier. It's a lot more likely haze milotic is for curselax, not removing attack boosts from snorlax. Swagger jolteon is pretty much exclusively for snorlax, as other special walls don't have the base attack to care about taking confusion damage, and jolteon has better tools to deal with other special walls (wish+growth for chansey, shadow ball for gardevoir, etc). Rhydon is a pretty nice wallbreaker and also has the added benefit of switching in vs snorlax pretty easily. The main thing that won the match was pursuit on rhydon which weakened snorlax a lot more than the 5 turns jolteon used vs snorlax.2 points
