Returning it to 1.5x was the result of a 5-1 tier council vote in late

If I remember correctly that vote was due to the unexplained buff from 1.3 to 1.4 which made calculations unviable. I genuinely think TC members agreed for the reset back to 1.5 not because they preferred it that way but more off how does 1.4 make sense. I think the nerf to 1.3 was fair, but the reset back again to how it was when it dropped while we still didn't get a decent answer to Gallade is what doesn't make sense to me.

We'll be introducing some more answers to Gallade with the raid update

    252+ Atk Sharpness Gallade Sacred Sword vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Tangrowth: 76-91 (36.7 - 43.9%) -- 99.9% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
I assume it's Tangrowth nothing else would be able to check it as good as Tangrowth does.
Gallade won't have any mon that can completely shut it down that's what people need to understand due to the versatility of move pool Psychic/Fighting/Dark/Grass/Ice
alongside the Sharpness boost to Slicing moves ex:
    [Night Slash/Leaf Blade]

    252+ Atk Sharpness Gallade Leaf Blade vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Slowbro: 112-132 (55.7 - 65.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
If Slowbro is one of these answers I dont think it's an answer as much as a hit and go check. Which opens the door on how people would say Slowbro is strong and broken, to me the Dugtrio stalls are ones who will benefit from having Slowbro, but if Dugtrio wasn't there I believe Tyranitar would be unlocked and do a nice job handling Slowbro.

I think there has been some misunderstanding. I didn't want to claim that Qwil is not a strong pokemon in NU. What I meant is "...I really don't believe it to be too strong (for NU)". I simply believe that it isn't banworthy.

These calcs show that there is more offensive counterplay. These physically frail pokemon with no bulk investment require quite a bit of chip for them to be in range of +2 adamant jet. Which means that when you play, you can't overload them with many tasks if they are your only speed control/revenge killers, There are also other faster pokemon for offense that need a lot of chip to be in range, not including sceptile as you have already mentioned it, like Tauros, Scyther, Froslass can troll it a bit (deny setup, wisp, dbond) or kill if offensive, Sharpedo with EQ or just special, Rotom Fan, Braviary denies it entry, Drapion, and Sawsbuck and Gardevoir if you're feeling spicy (there are more but less viable/used). It also needs to be careful around blastoise as it can be set up fodder for it if it isn't +2 or if Gunk misses.

There is less counterplay for more balanced builds, as it is to expect from a SD mon, but still other than slowtwins (which require a lot of chip) and quag/ferroseed, you can use druddigon (glare/phasing/eq), physdef lanturn trades, defensive qwil (twave, taunt), skuntank (though flinch chance if you're slow), Ferroseed/Musharna but you're already on the low usage side.

I quite disagree with this. Qwil can set up safely in front only of specific mons, such as Hitmontop, bronzor (only if lucky), Audino (usually accompanied by Quagsire), Physical/Mixed Houndoom and Hariyama. I think i got them all, but please do correct me if I missed any.

I invite you to play with Qwilfish yourself so that you can understand its weaknesses better

I understand that all of what you just mentioned are considered faster than qwilfish and can phase it out, but you’re forgetting that this is a valuable argument if we are talking about a 1v1 position not a 6vs6. I’ve played qwilfish multiple times myself. It isnt a wallbreaker nor a mon that should be bought early game. It’s a mid to late game cleanser and bringing it early to the field defies its purpose. Also with black sludge it somewhat  gains survivability to be brought once or twice in certain positions not necessarily to sweep but to intimidate for example and switch out until its time comes. It needs support too not like its a mon that can do the whole job on its own and I’m not ashamed of saying this the amount if times I lost almost win games while facing qwilfish was disgusting due to the scenarios where it has all boxes checked for it to sweep correctly. And you do know that you have to make sacrifices sometimes because you’re obviously not countering or reacting to it alone but to other 5 mons including it.

can setup vs escavlier/all fighting types that get locked ir don’t have super effective moves/bronzor/golbat/ any intimidated mon which is either locked on a move or is outside a 1hko range from qwill after intimidation and is slower.

And yes im not saying ban it but atleast consider some nerfs or gunk shot removal or sd removal or whatever. I know it’s not gonna get touched anyway but im just if im the only one who thinks it’s just too much lately or not

Adjustement/ Complex ban are only reserved for pokemon that need to get ban from OU.

I'm curious about the idea that it's reserved exclusively for Pokémon that need to be banned from OU. It seems like if such a rule exists, there might be instances where it's not strictly followed. I've noticed some situations where the same individuals involved in creating these rules sometimes seem to deviate from them. It could be interesting to explore how these rules are applied consistently. "Coughs in Gallade and Shaymin"

Well the burden of proof is on you, so if you want a discussion about Qwilfish to be started, you should start it.

About Qwilfish, I really don't believe it to be too strong. There is plenty of offensive counterplay and, while there may not be many (in number) defensive counters, those that exist are quite solid and easily splashable. SD can't be set up freely, there are specific pokemon Qwil sets up on, which makes it easier to plan around.

This is not meant to be a personal attack at all, but you may have this opinion because the teams you use have a big Qwilfish weakness, more than it being overall too strong for the tier.

I really didn't have the energy to answer this but reading the replies that people think Qwilfish isn't a strong mon in NU currently is not true.

Go ahead explain to me why Qwilfish has this win percentage if its not strong in NU currently?

If you want to counter it you legit have to either play balance/stall Quagsire which is a mon that doesn't fit offensive playstyles or even Slowbro if chipped can be in a +2 gunk shot range. Gunk Shot gen9 move?! if it wasn't there probably this would've been a different discussion

what are the checks? Qwilfish Impish vs Qwilfish SD? who wins that one?

Only legit answers that gain safety without specific items are Ferroseed/Quagsire/Sceptile anything else can be threatened with SD and setting it up isn't hard, and you can do it against many mons, and let's not forget the amount of mons that can be in good range of +2 aqua jet. Any other scarfer can be in range of it and die. Gunk shot is a no contact move and avoids rocky helmet aswell.

Forcing players to use a specific playstyle/teams to feel safe against it is overpowered.
    +2 252+ Atk Qwilfish Aqua Jet vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mismagius: 91-108 (66.9 - 79.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
    +2 252+ Atk Qwilfish Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Rotom: 76-90 (60.8 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

No hard feelings everyone is entitled to their opinion

While im agreeing with the first part of your message, the second part of your post has nothing to do with Draco Meteor Hydreigon in OU. UU shift will always be related to what happen in OU and it shouldnt be an argument at all when we need to discuss about something in OU. Keeping draco meteor on hydreigon will put Empoleon in OU? Probably yes, but it's how tier works and it wont influence our opinion about keeping DM hydrei or not in OU.

No it definitely has nothing to do with deciding to keep it in Draco or not, but for it's the longest time UU seem to have stabilized and to shape up. The butterfly effect of Draco Meteor is just a beginning of making things to shift and change again. If Hydreigon didn't get Draco I doubt Empo would be even mentioned beneath this topic, and trust me I couldn't care less about what happens in UU

  7. After numerous thoughts and considerations I believe Draco Meteor has no place in MMO especially Choice Specs damages. It's just absurd and insane hitting everything on big damages if it's not named Chansey/Blissey/Empoleon. A scarf/life orb Draco Meteor can be somewhat handled with AV Mienshao/Tyranitar or "Steel Resistances", but the specs is just huge damages that you can't recover from. Most players prefer immediate damage with Specs rather than setting up and going for 50/50's.

Also something that some people might not be keeping an eye on is the slight increase in usage of Empoleon in OU it's currently sits at 3.09%. Give it another month, and more players would recognize Empoleon as a huge answer to Hydreigon and it will rise up to OU.

Empoleon is a core mon in UU and it going back to OU will cause to UU.

If y'all want to savour some headache from the future with UU Shifting and mons dropping to NU due to team changes and usages I think handling the core problem "Draco Meteor" would be the best outcome. not nerfing not removing nasty plot or any of these ideas

You'll have to settle for 200 PvE tweaks in the next update before any extremely simple PvP QoL improvements, sorry 🥰🥰

Really though, Caio (surprisingly) nailed it. We don't even have a weather counter. Good idea, it just falls upon deaf ears...

I mean it's clearly obvious that PvE will always be prioritized since it has the largest scale of players.

It has been asked for, for sure, devs just don't listen.

Gotta pray a hero emerges from the dark and makes one instead

  9. Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this topic has been discussed in the past, but in my opinion, I think it would greatly improve the PvP experience in the game. Some might disagree from the perspective that this would make our PvP similar to showdown. My response to that is scrolling through hundreds of players spectating the game and leaving while trying to count Roosts, for example, or any move in a long stall game, can be extremely annoying and misleading. This is sometimes due to the confusion of everything being written in the Battle Tab in yellow and orange.

I'm not sure if the devs can add this as a feature in the future or if it has to be a tool made by a knowledgeable community member, but either way, whoever does it is much appreciated. Thank you.

  10. With all honesty, since @Azphiel and @AwaXGoku expressed their disagreement with the buff decision, and while @Axelgor and @Lumiere are open to a testing phase, knowing that this decision is being forced from the devs, I would still like to hear the thoughts of @Huargensy and @DoubleJ

I honestly can’t blame any of the members of TC for this decision, as it has been stated in this thread that it was forced. We are waiting for a reply from @Rache on the motives behind such a decision.

  11. Okay, just to make things clear, because I don't like talking and ranting a lot, I'll try to be as clear and polite as possible, because I know some will try to pinpoint the mistakes in what I say rather than understanding my objective. The current meta in all tiers we have is at its worst since Sinnoh was introduced.

Sadly, instead of fixing our current issues, additional problems arise with every big update, whether we are ready for Legendaries or not, or if some Mons' hidden abilities released were justified or not. OU is a catastrophe; you only have 6 possible Mons to choose from out of 47. You are supposed to Wallbreak and Sweep the following: Weezing, Skarm, Gastro, Chansey, Sableye, Gliscor, and Amoonguss, and be ready for Serp, Volc, Dragonite, Breloom, Starmie, Scizor, Hydreigon, Conk, Mamoswine, Togekiss, and have answers for rain so you don't instantly lose to Kabutops or Kingdra. On top of that, the addition of Suicune and Raikou, and potentially Magic Guard Alakazam coming in next as well. The meta of OU is matchup fishing; balance is nonexistent, and it is extremely difficult to build a solid 3 by 3 team that can cover all of that, on top of the PP nerf. It should stop where it is.

There are a few things I would like to highlight so it's clear to everyone, which I still do not understand to this day:

Why do we get Gen 8/Gen 9 move pool/ability updates when we are still in Gen 5?

Why aren't some Hidden Abilities studied thoroughly from a PVP perspective before release?

Is the objective to be different, or is the ship steered in an unspecified direction?

When Legendaries/Meta-Effecting Items like Assault Gear/Heavy Duty Boots get released, does the order come from the devs or TC?

As an MMO community, TC, and Devs, we need to look at what's healthy for most game players and be proactive in preventing things from happening before unnecessary headaches occur. Let's look back at Gallade.
