What goes on behind the scenes, in this case the frequency of warnings, is not visible to the public nor is it up for debate. Warnings are issued and/or posts are hidden when something said is found to be in violation of the rules. We have no intention of entirely abandoning the concept of leniency - being too strict may have the somewhat ironic effect of making the forums less welcoming to newcomers. At the end of the day, this is not a game/forum targeted at children, so does not require authoritarian moderation. Warning points and bans are issued when they are actually needed, not when somoene steps slightly out of line - hiding the post is enough in most cases unless the person is a repeat offender. With that being said though, you may find that the "bullying" will drastically decrease over time if you stop responding to it and attacking the people who disagree with you. We will not be restricting people from expressing their opinions when they dislike a suggestion as long as their posts follow the forum rules - criticism is an important part of any feature discussion and should not be seen as a personal attack. If a post is directly targeting you in a negative way however, please report it and do not respond to it, as doing so will only make things worse.

I recall asking dev's opinion on the matter before making the post. Which is the answer I obtained. My mistake was believing that the original fundraising plan (donations) was permanent and I had no reason to believe it would not be the case. I had tried those surveys while playing Runescape three years ago and the experience was awful. That bad experience likely added to my negative reply at the time. I'm still against the use of such services, but was probably overstepping my bounds by claiming it was a shared vision alongside PokeMMO devs. I was wrong

Egg moves should remain breedable only. Disregarding a canon game mechanic such as that, just to cater to lazy players is silly.

There was a suggestion made almost a year ago about introducing a new way of earning RPs through Monetized Survey Completion, this was the feedback it got from Staff, quoting Tyrone who was a GM at the time (June 19th 2016): "These online survey's raise funds by selling user information to third party companies. PokeMMO will not be selling or sharing their user's information with any other parties to generate funds. This suggestion goes directly against the vision of the game, where donations of players ensure the longevity of the game and not third party companies or advertisements." As you can see, things have changed: So my question is, what made devs change their opinion about this? iirc most if not all of these surveys ask for stuff like people's phone numbers, credit card info, or to install some shit in their computers (welcome malware).

Alright, I'm going to explain why 'Grandfathering' in new content is generally a bad idea. By introducing new content into the game, we do a couple of things: Inject new goals into the game, so that players who have previously succeded at hitting the previous ceiling now have further goals to hit, thus giving them a reason to log in and play (In addition to PvP of course) Give the economy a (positive) kick, as every player is now after the new materials - this gives players further reason to trade with each other, have money change hands and allow people to convert their time spent farming into cash. By allowing those players who are already at the high-end to 'upgrade' their comps to the new standard without participating in the economy/content mentioned would be a mistake in design at best. Less trades will be taking place, less money will exchange hands and most importantly; less 'mons will be sunk. As I've mentioned before on previous occasions, breeding is essential to keeping the economic balance of this game - and it does this quite well, as for every 'good' 'mon brought into the game, another is brought out of it - this encourages the constant flow and demand of new 'mons within the market. It is not like 'hardcore' players (as you describe them) lose all of their progress up until now - they can breed their current comps to get a great head-start on their new ones. This is more than can be said for most MMOs with the introduction of things such as newer equipment/levels. The IV Ceiling/Nature boosts is not something that is going to be changing, you will always have that consistent benefit ahead of everybody else. This seems to be something that is disregarded whenever the topic is brought up. I think you're greatly exaggerating the drop in value here, whilst Moves and Abilities are part of what makes up the value of a 'mon they aren't the only deciding factor, and IVs/Nature play a rather large role in that. In an update where everybody is after new breeding material, this isn't something that will be a problem. If these new moves are so crucial to the meta game that they (and to quote) "Screw up your comps", then by definition it is worth rebreeding if that is the only way to obtain them. Despite what some might believe, we have no desire to have you grind/breed some more because we think it's fun to watch - by participating in the new content this way you are helping the game on a wider scale.

See, the thing about these offers for "free currency", is that they hardly ever work. You can spend an hour or more on a survey, and upon completion, you'll find that you didn't get the promised reward. Applies to other minor offers as well. I'm amazed that @Quakkz managed to get anything from these offers. To be fair, you're warned that providing false info will lead to the reward being revoked/not provided, but I can see why you wouldn't want to provide real info. As Tyrone said, information sent is reviewed by the company conducting the survey, and, if the information is correct AND has value, it will be sold and you'll get a small incentive. Naturally, someone would want to provide false info to get their reward quicker and without any of their own info sold, but a company won't gain any profit from a survey with all 5s chosen to an address like "420 nou street", so they don't sell info given, therefore you get no incentive. It's worth noting that I have tried with legitimate info and STILL not received any RP, as, according to SuperRewards support, "the company did not report completion", when I even provided screenshots of progress/completion. Even non-survey offers do not provide RP upon completion, from what I have seen. @Desu I suggest you find a different party to work with for this trial, I have looked around and SuperRewards is seen as a scam service, which can taint the image of PokeMMO. While SuperRewards themselves may not be the ones scamming, they are still associated with shady companies, which end up giving everyone involved a bad name.

Well you'd be wrong if you don't think that every existing player isn't going rush to use these tutors over breeding anything again. The loss on the amount of things that would have been sunk/put into and taken out of the market is rather large. What you're asking for is essentially "Pay a little in game money and/or a few items to skip to end game". And not only is that bad for design, but it largely increases the gap between newer and older players - as anybody joining post-tutors will have an even bigger hurdle to catch up on. You can view it that way if you want, though I don't think it's fair to say that we don't care about our playerbase when it is the primary focus of every design decision we make. I replied to your thread because I (personally) care, and feel that an explanation would go a long way. Older players still have an advantage, they don't lose all of their progress and it is not the same thing as wiping your PC boxes (an example you used above). They can still use their current 'mons to aid in the breeding of their newer ones - and that is already a huge leap over anybody who would have just started.

Since it's free and you can cancel your free trial before they charge you and ez free RP for a tenth of the time trying to attempt the damned surveys. after trying it myself and reading the feedback i would rather see it being removed too. i feel like those shady websites could damage the reputation of pokemmo in the long run

I do really think that there should be another alternative to obtaining egg moves without having to rebreed the same comps. It's just stupid and saying that "you can sell your comps now" basically means to remain comp-less for an uncertain amount of time because we have no idea of when we're going to be hit with the update. No one is definitely going to buy the current comps post-update either. I didn't spend hours and hours of grinding just to do some more especially when the current breeding system really doesn't make it easier like how it was in 2015.

So you are aware, this does not actually save you time. Pokemon in the breeders stop breeding and will never produce an egg while you are in another region than where that particular breeder is at. So, while you are in Hoenn any pokemon in the Kanto breeder will stop working to produce an egg and vice versa.

Its to a ridiculous level and you guys let way too much shit slide. People dont learn any sort of lesson from just having posts deleted. You guys need to enforce a strict WP policy. You flame, derail a thread, bully you get a warning point. That simple. You want people to feel welcome here on the forums. As it is right now. Its toxic as fuck.

Posts tend to get hidden when threads devolve into personal attacks, insults, and general flaming. Even posts that aren't inherently bad replying to hidden get hidden. Low effort posts/rule breaking posts also get hidden. Some examples: Moderation is a required aspect of forums.

Sure, players will be behind, always, but that doesn't mean we should add things to make it even harder to play catch up.
