Porygon has never had hordes. It is more accessible now than ever since it occasionally has swarms. Tyrogue had 3x hordes with machop on Jagged Pass in unova for a brief time in 2016, but then they were removed a month or two later. We thought they were gone entirely but then in 2017 I found that they had moved to being mixed in very randomly in zorua-style hordes in Firey Path in Hoenn. They remained there until Sinnoh came out (in 2020 iirc). Firey Path had one Tyrogue mixed in a 3x horde with Machops per every 10-20 hordes. At the time if you wanted to hunt Tyrogue, it was quicker do just do single encounters using repel trick in the old Torchic spot on Rt 112. I got extremely lucky and found a 2x31 tyrogue from one of those mixed hordes in 2017 As for Heracross, as far as I remember you are correct, they were in Pattern Bush

Hi, i´ve been watching the UI REDESIGN CONCEPT of Starnacle and i have something to say, i wanna hear your opinions at respect (Sorry if my english is bad) PokMMO´s interface looks so old i´ve been thinking in how good it would be if PokeMMO´s Adminstration Team asked Starnacle for getting the Concept´s base files to refresh the game giving it a facelift with a new interface, new backgrounds in battle like his theme, more quality in general, the game begins to look like 2015 UI, and he said he did the concept just for fun, he tryed to evolve it to a theme but did not succeed I think it´s ok for Starnacle to give that idea, so, the admin team could improve a lot PokeMMO if they do that, we need an updated and remastered game, the game needs that to get a new life, a new UI, some changes in-game like: -As i said, the redesigned game UI -The possibility to choose the color of your choice from a palette of colors -More clothes to buy in the Pokemon Shops ( Like more types of bags, jackets and hats, bc a big % of free clothes are so simple and nobody use it) -More SFX like when u find an item -And some changes like fix the overcharged GTS having usless pokemon at a cost that does not deserve it, putting a limit And we can have more ideas, I want to hear your opinion, the main thing is redesign bc it can make the game get a new life and feel better for everyone.And Starnacle´s design was amazing and a surprise for all of us, i really hope the Admin Team take that idea so serious. I need to Agree on Unnefable's point. I don't compete on many tours, to be honest my participation on PCL is my first time on a Team tournament, and probablly i will not be selected on World Cup even if i enter. But for players that play many tours this massive amount of events can get they tired. And it's not just for Players that it gets pulled. We, who host events, have to schedule behind the scenes and have communication to make everything run smoothly. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, good communication can help reach a favorable solution for both sides. For example, Clorokina and I were hosting a PokéMMO event on Showdown, using the QuinnW server. But he warned, I think a week before the event starts, that he would take a vacation and wouldn't be available to activate the server for 3 weeks. In order not to harm him, and also knowing that doing it in the MMO itself would be unfeasible because many players don't have time to Grind money and build teams, we decided to postpone the tournament and we're waiting for QuinnW to return. Unnefable went through an unforeseen situation as well. Planning to host the World Cup, he saw that the windows to host at the time of the announcement were few, but the communication prevailed again. The Kaynine event was no longer going to interfere with the World Cup schedule. Talking to QuinnW, he pushed the PCL to take place a little earlier and not interfere with the World Cup. Unfortunately, when there is no communication, it complicates. As was the case with TCL. The hosts didn't even care about the amount of events and just stuck the TCL in the middle. Result: The TCL will overlap with World Cup. If teams plan to boycott the tournament, even if I don't play I will show support. After all, what the TCL Hosts should have done was communicate with whoever was organizing large events (World Cup, PGC and PCL) to see when it would be good to host the event. In this case, if there were no unforeseen events, a good window would be in November after all the PSL 15 has not yet been confirmed, and even then it could be carried out after the TCL, if they communicated with Gbwead (Who hosted the PSL 14 and even if he didn't were the PSL 15 Host, he would know who it was.) Edit: the boycott on TCL already started. A team, i don't remember which team was, since the message of him was simply deleted, i don't know why, that if I record correctly, have a guarranted spot, simply reject the invite and make it public.

Agreed, no staff-enforced rule is needed, anyone should be able to host regular events whenever they want. If it's a one time tournament or event it has virtually no impact, the problem comes from long-form events e.g. PSL. The current problem is one brought on by a lack of common sense, we can't have half a dozen long-form events that both require a significant portion of the community being involved in them and ingame prep time. That has a bunch of repercussions, none of which are positive: forces people to dodge events they otherwise might have enjoyed, lessens the hype significantly for all the events, breeds a culture of "first come first served" when it comes to hosting (which we've seen with world cup v. psl teams). As for a solution, a revamp of the unofficial tournaments section would be a good place to start. Where moderators could prove useful would be in keeping a pinned & locked thread updated with current & future events (fairly certain the current calendar only includes officials & CN community events? Hard to tell if it's just not being updated with unofficials). I'm not sure about what to do with people jumping on an event finishing to host the one they had been planning on hosting, I guess communication between hosts & the community at large is key there. Seeing a general thread popping up out of nowhere feels wrong. When PSL happens and it's hosted properly you know who is hosting it and when it starts, I feel that's a model that has worked and see no reason to deviate from it.

Don't get me wrong, seeing all these unofficial tournaments hosted by the community is great. Only issue is that this is getting way too disorganized now. It's not great to have plethora of major events going at once - it hinders the experience for both the events going on previously and also the new ones. The problem is that there is no organization between different tournament hosts and people just release long tournament series without really discussing until the main thread of the event is released. That's why I'm suggesting we should open (preferably pinned thread) to unofficial tournaments where people can share their ideas of a tournament they wanna host and community members can give feedback whether they are willing to participate in it and when would be a good time to start the tournament series. Hosts for different events could also potentially set up a concrete yearly calendar about events so it doesn't get so clustered and confused like it is now. Also, something I really think this community should get rid of is the "first come, first serve" basis for major events. It almost feels like whenever a major event like PSL ends, people are instantly rushing in with a new event after it just so that other people won't manage to host their events in time. I think a proper community wide discussion thread would help out here massively. Tell me what you think.

Even though I'm relatively new in the community I've been hosting events for a long time and one of the things that brought me to PokeMMO was the existence of the World Cup and PSL type events. I think that community organized tournaments is a great idea and the best way to keep a community alive and kicking aside from the "Official" tournaments organized by staff and automated tournaments. I've talked about this issue of coordination between hosts with many of you here and it was one of my main concerns before even launching the World Cup. I think there should be a calendar with 2 main events "set in stone" PSL and WC, have them every year around the same time, same format type (always some space for innovation but type of tournament format not talking about tiers or anything) so that people can prepare ahead, plan ahead. For example....last year when I started playing my whole goal was...play in the World Cup next year, for 1 year I grinded and was fully focused on getting ready to play the WC this year...After a year of training...where is the WC? I started asking around...when is the WC coming? Who is hosting the WC? No one was talking about it...WC is a meme tournament...no one cares about the WC...then I saw gasai's post about it... WC vs PSL Teams ... and that is when I decided to start digging around talking to people and when I decided to host the WC after talking to previous WC hosts and with gasai and then RDL... So before even announcing the WC I checked that K9 event would be finished before that, I thought that Quinn's event would as well even though I should have made sure and talked to him before hand and already apologized to him for it, clearly my bad but again this would be avoided if there was a calendar I could consult or if there was a discord/forum of some sort where I could debate it with the other hosts or some sort of host council team like it was mentioned previously. Then came the VGC season 0 but since it's a smaller event and there is a space bettwen WC sign ups and WC start it won't really interfere except perhaps in terms of donation gathering. Multiple tournaments always means less donations available to go around. Now with this whole TCL (weird new name variance...again a deviation from what already exists) coming in at the same time of the WC it just seems a bit disorganized and clearly not working towards the best interests of the community but it is what it is...for now...but like Orange said...it clearly puts the issue of tournament coordination in the spot light. Also important, and in order to bring more professionalism and credibility to the tournaments, we should have a set of rules that could be "set in stone" for the tournament hosts to work with...host participation for example is a hot topic! Can the hosts participate in their own events? This was also one of the points I heard from other people I talked to and something I discussed with RDL as can be seen below. As the current host of the World Cup I'm looking to set things up for the next world cup host and i'm relying heavily on the previous WC hosts having them all in as my council. I'm very grateful for all their feedback and experience and would never even think of doing this without their support. We should be able to create a template for new tournaments hosts to base their templates on...it will make life easier for the hosts and also for the community. This suggestion from Quinn is also something I believe would be a benefit of having a centralized host council or whatever we want to call it. If people don't respect the hosts because they don't care about the tournament they can just troll it for the shits and giggles while creating a bad environment for the ones that really want to enjoy the event. For the WC i've created a WC Master file with all of the information from previous WC's for organization purposes and I'll pass that along to the next World Cup host to help him along. Again, this could be done for major tournaments and have the smaller/new type tournaments be worked around them in the calendar. This way we give the community both stable well established tournaments and fresher new types/format tournaments a chance to pop up.

I don't think I necessarily support a rule. Anyone should be able to host events whenever they want. However, if someone is going against the general consensus of the community whether their event should be even organized right now then they shouldn't expect a high amount of community participation and also not to expect their event to be considered all that legitimate by the broader competitive community. But anyone can and should be allowed to host their casual event whenever they want, I don't think we can really object to that.

I get that you would have to disqualify people from the tournament they were not allowed to participate in and warn them not to do it again because there is a rule for that - but disqualifying someone from a victory they had achieved before completely legally is a very serious punishment. And the problem here is that disqualifying someone from a legally obtained victory isn't just a procedural decision anymore, it is clearly a punishment. How on earth does intent not come into play when you are deciding when and how to punish people? I know some people might argue "you are supposed to know you can't play qualifiers if you already qualified!". Except in competitive circuits of many different games you actually can, official Pokemon circuit included. So for the sake of appearing in any way as a credible tournament hosting organisation, please revise this decision like you did about Queest vs YuoZ.

Just wanted to make a post to elaborate on the group stages ending, as its about a week and a half away. Just given there is the possibility of some weird stuff occurring with ties in the standings and there being 19 players. There is a chance that we get a couple 3 way ties. It could get pretty weird depending on how things go in the final week. I am using the following as a loose guideline for everyone to try and have something to aim for. 3 wins - You win the group, get 1m, move to the final tournament with a possible bye round 1 2 wins, 3 way tie - You split 1m with the other 2 in the tie, guaranteed to play round 1 2 wins, 2 way tie - Head to head record wins the group and 1m, both guaranteed to play round 1 2 wins, no tie - Guaranteed to play round 1 1 win - Regardless if there is a tie/no tie, you become a reserve for the final tournament. Depending on numbers you may be required to play an elimination game against someone else, win the elimination to make the final tournament 0 wins - You are out Given I cant guarantee how the standings end, I am waiting until after the final week to guarantee anything further.

I have no vested interest about this, I know neither of these people but this just seems wrong. For a good while, reading forums hasn't been a must to participate in PvP play so I think it's unreasonable to punish people for not having read this clause on a forum thread. There was no malicious intent with this either, if people were trying to be deceptive they would use alts to play other qualifiers but these players used their main accounts so they clearly weren't aware of this rule. I don't understand why this rule exists to begin with, in previous seasonals if an invite holder won another qualifier the invite went to the next reserve. But if you must have this rule you have to have this enforced in the in-game client, preventing people with an invite from even queueing to the tournament.

If that's gonna be a thing eventually, can we have a rework of the subforum to separate PVE player-hosted events from PVP ? Or include them in a way where they are separated and deserve their share of visibility instead of just a mess of a section. I feel like having "Unofficial Tournaments" be only for... unofficial tournaments is already a step-up in organization.
