Since joining the team and starting PokeMMO one of the coolest things ive seen are big team events, so I decided to create one :). Date Signups Close Tuesday August 8th 2023 Captains Named August 9th 2023 Teams Drafted August 10th 2023 Event Begins August 11th 2023 Time 4 AM UTC | 6 AM CEST | 12 AM EDT Time Converter Here Location Anywhere and everywhere Duration 1 Month, ending September 11th at 12AM EST Scoring 1 tile of bingo board = 1 point for team Poosh/Undel will also be giving away 2 100RP Vouchers for each shiny caught that has a encounter rate of "rare" or rarer. Rules Teams will be split up into sizes of 11 Each team will have a month to fill up as much of their bingo card as possible. 1 Shiny can only be used for one square. (For example a shiny Combusken can only be used as a; Fire Shiny or a Fighting Shiny or single encounter shiny, or a new entry into the shiny living dex, not all 4) When you receive the shiny, you must choose what square you want to apply it to, and cannot change it after. As a passionate shiny hunter, it would it be nice to have a section in the Pokédex for shiny version. Similar to the alpha section, we could have one for shiny so we keep track of what we have seen or caught

It was supposed to be in July or August so I guess we will have it before Johto I really love the Devs of PokeMMO but I understand why so many players complain about the lack of communication. It's ok to be late, we are used to delays now, but just a little message from the devs from time to time would probably help the game to grow and keep its active playerbase

I'm personally a huge fan of how the implementation of the current ability patches give players a reward for completing a regional dex. I'd love to see more (smaller) rewards for completing specific 'things', like for example; Getting all ribbons on an OT pokemon. Finding all overworld/itemfinder items in all regions. Battling and defeating all NPCs at least once.

I think this is great example: "got my 2nd OT shiny after 55,521 encounters" "3rd OT Shiny after 1,605 encounters" my poliwag took +- 220k encounters, while my smeargle took 7 single encounters before hordes. Don't get discouraged and do other stuff to not get bored, it will come one day!

PokeMMO World Cup 6 Discord Server Tournament Schedule 20 or 24 teams selected (>=24 teams sign ups) 16 teams selected (<24 teams sign ups) Captain Nomination | July 23rd, 2023 to August 13th, 2023 Anyone can apply to become a captain by filling the following template by replacing gbwead with your name and Canada with region in the world you want to represent (a country, a state, a territory, a province, etc.): Warning! I do not want to know if the place in the world you want to represent is a country, a nation, a city, a region, a province, a state, a territory, etc. Any sign up that deviate from the template in any way will be rejected and removed at my discretion. Potential captains will be interrogated by me or another member of the World Cup Staff to get certified. List of captain's obligations: Managing the funds of their team: captains will have to collect funds for their team Selecting a roster for their team: captains will have the final say on who is accepted or rejected from their team Submitting weekly lineups for their team Assisting players scheduling their duels Being active on Discord Campaign & Funding | August July 23rd, 2023 to August 19th, 2023 Captains will have to collect donations from members of the community. Captains will also need to keep track of who donates and how much they donated on a private discord channel or private forum message between World Cup Staff and the captain. Players can only donate to one team. A team need to get a least 3 donations from players having played in previous world cups for the region represented by the team. The PokeMMO Master file will be used to verify the representation of the 3 mandatory donators. The number of spots are limited based on the number of signed up teams to ensure only the most motivated teams get selected and indirectly maximazing donations. Teams Selection | August 19th & 20th, 2023 On August 19th, 2023, all teams will yield their collected donations to WCSIX. Teams must do so before 11:59 AM UTC in order for their donations to be receivable. If more than 30 unique teams sign up, only 24 will be selected. The 22 teams that donated the most will be the selected. Out of the remaining unselected teams, the 8 that donated the most will be split into two qualifiers tournaments (4 easterner teams will compete for one spot & 4 westerner teams will compete for another spot). The teams that do not get selected at all will have their donations returned. If there are 24 to 29 unique teams that sign up, only 20 will be selected. The 18 teams that donated the most will be the selected. Out of the remaining unselected teams, the 8 that donated the most will be split into two qualifiers tournaments (4 easterner teams will compete for one spot & 4 westerner teams will compete for another spot). The teams that do not get selected at all will have their donations returned. If there are 23 or less unique teams that sign up, only 16 will be selected. The 14 teams that donated the most will be the selected. Out of the remaining unselected teams, the 8 that donated the most will be split into two qualifiers tournaments (4 easterner teams will compete for one spot & 4 westerner teams will compete for another spot). The teams that do not get selected at all will have their donations returned on August 27th. The Qualifier tournament for East will be held on August 20th at 10 AM UTC. The Qualifier tournament for West will be held on August 20th at 6 PM UTC. Notes: If two captains represent the same World Region, only one captain can be selected (the one that collected the most funds). The term "unique teams" refers to a World Region represented exclusively by one team. Previous World Cup winners will be favored in the selection process with a x1.5 booster to their donations and x2 for the Defending Champions. For instance, if Team USA East Coast has collected 14M and Team China has collected 10M, Team China will be selected over Team USA East Coast because Team China is a previous WC winner (10M x 1.5 = 15M). If two or more teams donate the same amount of money, the team that was created first will be favored. During the qualification tournaments, the only eligeable players for his team will be the captain and the 3 mandatory donators. The format of the qualification tournaments will be a Bo3 in (i) OU, (ii) Captain Choice (OU/UU/NU/Dubs/LC) and (iii) Captain Choice (OU/UU/NU/Dubs/LC). List of previous WC winners: Brazil, France, Belgium, China and Argentina. Example for 24 sign ups: Players Registration | August 20th, 2023 to September 2nd, 2023 Once the teams have been selected, a player registration thread will be opened. Players will only be able to register for one of the teams selected. Once a player signs up for a specific region, the captain of that specific region will need to reply to the sign up by stating whether or not they accept or refuse the player in their team. Players do not have be Italian in order to be in the Italian Team, they just need to be accepted by the Italian captain. Be wary of which captain you choose to support during the campaign and funding process, they will have the final say regarding who ends up in their team. The amount of players per team is unlimited. Exception: Players that have contributed as one of the 3 mandatory donations will be automatically accepted. Captains, be wary of who you choose to accept donations from. At the half way point of the player registration, if a team is at risk of not getting at least 6 players in their roster, that team will be replaced by the next top donator team. Group Stage 24 teams selected | September 3rd, 2023 to October 8th, 2023 The 24 selected teams will be divided in 4 pools of 6 teams. Each week, teams from the same pool will face each other based on the weekly lineup submitted by their respective captain. At the end of the Group Stage, the top 3 teams of each pool will advance to the Quarter Finals. At the end of the Group Stage, the last 3 teams will be eliminated. CRITERIA 20 teams selected | September 3rd, 2023 to October 8th, 2023 The 20 selected teams will be divided in 4 pools of 5 teams. Each week, teams from the same pool will face each other based on the weekly lineup submitted by their respective captain. Teams that have no opponent from their own pool for the week will face off against teams in the same situation from other pools. Based on their performance in these out of pools face offs, teams will earn points difference (2nd criteria in Group Stage) and the best performing pools will get manager choice during the knock-out stage. At the end of the Group Stage, the top 3 teams of each pool will advance to the Quarter Finals. At the end of the Group Stage, the last 2 teams will be eliminated. OFFPOOL MATCHES CRITERIA 16 teams selected | September 3rd, 2023 to October 1st, 2023 The 16 selected teams will be divided in 4 pools of 4 teams. Each week, teams from the same pool will face each other based on the weekly lineup submitted by their respective captain. At the end of the Group Stage, the top 2 teams of each pool will advance to the Quarter Finals. At the end of the Group Stage, the last 2 teams will be eliminated. CRITERIA Knock-Out Stage 20 or 24 teams selected | October 8th, 2023 to October 29th, 2023 Top 2 and top 3 teams of each pool will be placed in the first round of 8 teams single elimination bracket. The top 1 team of each pool will advance directly to the second round of the same single elimination bracket. The winner of the single elimination bracket will win World Cup 6. 16 teams selected | October 1st, 2023 to October 22th, 2023 Top 2 teams of each pool will be placed in the first round of 8 teams single elimination bracket. The winner of the single elimination bracket will win World Cup 6. Prize Distribution 1st Place will get 70% of the prize pool & the title of World Champion. 2nd Place will get 20% of the prize pool. Community members that record duels will get 10% of the prize pool. The Prize pool for WC 6 will come from donations (possible to donate at any time) and teams funding (August 6th, 2023 to August 19th, 2023). I appreciate it and everyone else comments as well during this process ? Once I complete the theme, I will also be looking to have different color versions as well similar to what the original thread owners wanted to achieve.

It's pretty evident that the game suffers from a severe lack of content. To spice things up for a bit, I'd like to propose adding an achievement system. Give players short/ long term goals with a reward system if they are able to meet them. Also give players cool badges for each achievement they complete so that they can show it off in their player profile. Now that is a nice segue to my second suggestion which is Player Profiles. The upside to having player profiles are numerous. People can advertise their ELO ranking, their completed achievements, their PokeMMO services with a redirect to their shop on the forum, a small description about themselves, mutual friend list if your friend looks at your profile, your affiliation (team), and so many more. These are just off the top of my head. These QOL updates would definitely be welcome by majority of the player-base. If anyone else has any suggestions based on this topic, feel free to suggest them below. :) Cheers.
