  9. Hello, this isn't exactly a reply about you- more like a general explanation about how the recruiting works and what can be a reason for the player to not be chosen for a staff member position. So please, don't take it personally or as me telling you that you are not accepted. First of all, the requirements that we put for recruitment are just entry requirements. They don't guarantee for a player to be chosen -sometimes I get 'but I have 500 hours already" messages but the reason why at least 500 hours is required is the experience and knowledge about the game that the player has acquired during those hours. We might also decline a candidate that was known for toxic or very impatient behaviour in the past and there is no visible sign of changed behaviour. The experience of players differs. One is more solo-play oriented, the other is a social person but without really a bit of knowledge about the game itself. Some things also come with time. When the player meets the requirements and messages us, we then check the player. We see if there were any punishments and if yes then how serious they were or when they have been given. We then check the activity of the player in general, to see if the application has sense and we don't get players who will join our team and not be here too much, if at all. However, there are also few reasons why someone is not accepted. One of them is the simple fact that we could've recently accepted a lot of staff members and need to make sure they are properly aided first. A situation like this happened not so long ago, as an example. We don't usually consider our team "full". It doesn't hurt to have more than one person in a timezone/language but when we get a lot of people for a certain position, and the candidate is not considered fully known to be a good choice, we simply choose to wait and see that person more. A lot of candidates contact us only to be nowhere to be seen a few days/ week later, when not chosen immediately. Life happens but we don't want to waste ours and their time. Our priority is to make all staff members properly aided in all fields, including mentoring and general help. Lastly, we are forming a team. We spend a lot of time together and we aim to help the community and each other grow every day. We aim to bring people who we believe will be helpful and fit for the role. Sometimes I get messages like "I wrote to you last week and you haven't accepted me, and XYZ got accepted now" and yeah that happens too. Sometimes those accepted candidates were left before the decision as well and were simply accepted later. To summarize- a player doesn't necessarily has to do something wrong. It might be that he/she is just simply not active enough for us to consider bringing him/her to the team, or not known by us enough to immediately see it as a good idea. Being rejected from joining isn't always final as well, and certainly doesn't mean that the player is not good enough, or considered worst than the staff that was chosen. I speak from my perspective, but I'm sure other staff members would agree- any help that you, players provide is considered needed and makes that community as fantastic as it can be. You don't necessarily need a badge to do so. However, we do appreciate all of you who contact us to become part of a staff team. As always, I will remind anyone reading this long message that I am always open to questions about the staff team, requirements, and any info you will possibly need.

  10. I can't believe I need to keep repeating this but some people clearly do not get it. Things do not get banned solely because they are strong. We do not ban "Earthquake" from the game because it is one of the strongest attack in the game, we don't ban status ailments from the game because they have great effect on the battle. Things get banned when they decrease the level of competitiveness of the game. One-hit-KO moves aren't banned because they are overpowered, even with average luck with OHKO moves the lack of momentum you get from doing nothing often outweighs the occasional KO you get from OHKO moves (at a time when you would have done significant damage with your regular moves anyways). OHKO moves are banned because a player with literally no skill involved decided to just hope for luck rather than play positionally, and that is what we aim to encourage in competitive Pokemon. (Same goes to Evasion being banned to a large extent, even though this one is far easier to abuse and set up unstoppable game winning sweeps). The bottom line is that we do not remove things from chronological order that are the strongest, obviously. Things get removed from the game when the autonomy of the players are taken away - meaning that you cannot affect on your faith with the choices you make in the battle and rather are a passenger in RNG dice race. Saying that "paralyze/Serene Grace/Scald is strong" entirely misdirects the conversation because the argument for banning hax items never was that they win more games than they lose - the same way that was never the argument for OHKO moves being banned. The argument was - and forever will be - their uncompetitive nature and the fact you cannot and you shouldn't reasonably prepare for them. Maybe you could try to address this argument for once? Edit: Even Smogon banned King's Rock from BW kek

  11. Long time no see! Some people might remember me whether its for my themes, my rematch guide, decent rng in catch events, or otherwise. I played very regularly for 5-6 years. I took a long break playing other stuff, but I wanted to come back and get into this again. Anything new I should know? I stopped playing pretty much right after I beat Sinnoh when it released and bred a few of those new mons. I don't even know if the rematch guide is still relevant. I hope it is bc a bishh is broke lol Looking forward to playing again! Also, I'mma need a team to join eventually if anyone's interested in having me.

  16. I thought I would not answer you anymore, because you are ridiculous and hard-headed to understand, but since you mentioned me, because you probably ran out of meme answers, yes, I have a 6 walls team that I have not used for months because under pZ, you can check the replays if you are such a fan of me, I play offense in uu. Do you know that pZ nasty knocks down the whole team, right? I myself said in the first comments that I put in this forum that I played every style of game, from offense balanced and stall. Is there a problem? The guy from the SS sent me a message asking me for a team cake, and said he liked it and well played, he knows well that it is a form of play, you can't understand it? Why do you keep making a fool of yourself? Stop comparing an item of luck and that stopping it is not in your hands with something that if you can stop using your head and building well, luck should not be a deciding factor in a competitive game and that is what you want to do, stop crying because you feel bad and they end up wallowing you, you have a brain, use it to differentiate luck and skill in a game (Since you are a fan of mine, I put you ss of my teams that I usually use)
