  1. Okay, just to make things clear, because I don't like talking and ranting a lot, I'll try to be as clear and polite as possible, because I know some will try to pinpoint the mistakes in what I say rather than understanding my objective. The current meta in all tiers we have is at its worst since Sinnoh was introduced. Sadly, instead of fixing our current issues, additional problems arise with every big update, whether we are ready for Legendaries or not, or if some Mons' hidden abilities released were justified or not. OU is a catastrophe; you only have 6 possible Mons to choose from out of 47. You are supposed to Wallbreak and Sweep the following: Weezing, Skarm, Gastro, Chansey, Sableye, Gliscor, and Amoonguss, and be ready for Serp, Volc, Dragonite, Breloom, Starmie, Scizor, Hydreigon, Conk, Mamoswine, Togekiss, and have answers for rain so you don't instantly lose to Kabutops or Kingdra. On top of that, the addition of Suicune and Raikou, and potentially Magic Guard Alakazam coming in next as well. The meta of OU is matchup fishing; balance is nonexistent, and it is extremely difficult to build a solid 3 by 3 team that can cover all of that, on top of the PP nerf. It should stop where it is. There are a few things I would like to highlight so it's clear to everyone, which I still do not understand to this day: Why do we get Gen 8/Gen 9 move pool/ability updates when we are still in Gen 5? Why aren't some Hidden Abilities studied thoroughly from a PVP perspective before release? Is the objective to be different, or is the ship steered in an unspecified direction? When Legendaries/Meta-Effecting Items like Assault Gear/Heavy Duty Boots get released, does the order come from the devs or TC? As an MMO community, TC, and Devs, we need to look at what's healthy for most game players and be proactive in preventing things from happening before unnecessary headaches occur. Let's look back at Gallade.

  2. I'm in favour of quickbanning Medicham and Venomoth and testing Blastoise Medicham doesn't have any reliable switch except a few niche psychic types such as Musharna/Duosion? or perhaps Shedinja, which are all either straight up unviable or extremely weak to pursuiters which are plenty in NU (tricking them could also work). 80 Base speed is a good speedtier in NU, and as it has been mentioned above you can comfortably run an adamant nature as you don't need to tie with Blaziken who just left the tier. Tons of different sets are possible. Slowbro seems to be its best check for sure and lots of bulkyoffensive/balanced teams might be "forced" to use it, but it is no miracle solution. Venomoth seems so obnoxious, I don't think NU would benefit from dropping it, it would be so good with screens potentially sweeping most offense with one quiver dance/ Ninjask can't revenge kill it, it's gone. Also, Venomoth is a sleep powder user which is one of the most disgusting moves in the game (I know it's not a proper argument but I just wanted to hate on sleep powder for a second). Gigalith and AV Magmortar are fine but that's about it. Gigalith, although unlikely, could potentially lose to 3 sleep turns bullshit (or 2 hits/miss rock blast) +gigadrain, and AV Magmortar is rock weak which is fundamentally terrible for an assault vest user. When it was tested 2 months ago I don't think the playerbase used it at the highest of its potential. I'm less sure about Blastoise, it would be interesting to see. NU has things like Mantine, Lanturn and Slowking, but shell smash Blastoise might be amazing to have vs offense, its bulk would make it fairly easy to get a shell smash. Screens support could also be a thing. A lot of bulky offensive teams use Assault Vest Eelektross already, perhaps we might see a lot of physical Blastoise then. It's good that Milotic dropped too, I guess it can help a lot.

  3. Very different mons, has priority, etc etc i get it, but I would like to remind everybody that the same thing was said about zam in the past and its sitting at 6% usage with a 44% winrate. Can anybody say with absolute certainty that that is not the case again without a test

  7. It's unbelievable how the game has deteriorated after the introduction of hidden abilities. There's no stability whatsoever, and with every event, we get more hidden abilities and Pokémon that disrupt the game further. Teambuilding has never been more challenging. This game is becoming more frustrating. You just can't convince me that it's possible to build a team in OU with six Pokémon that can handle rain, hyper offense, Suicune, Raikou, Serperior, and stall. The meta is all about match-up fishing. Furthermore, those in control, and I don't need to name them, will jump at any opportunity to introduce Pokémon like Magic Guard Alakazam with Nasty Plot, which have no real counters. In Generation 5, Nasty Plot was removed, and it's frustrating to see it return here. Take what you will from this. The way the Tier Council manages things makes their existence almost invisible. But since everyone is in their comfort zone, no one is willing to speak up because they will get silenced

  11. I think Venomoth was very good in his place and it's a pity to see him return to the tier. Considering the pokemons that are played in the tier, there is almost nothing that really comes on Medicham, with the exception of Slowbro (and even, it can be tricked) It seems a bit complicated We will see what these changes produce on the field once that they will be effective, for the moment, I doubt reasonably that these are particularly healthy I'm sharing this point of view

  12. @ChronoRike All those calcs being Jolly medicham which is WAY worse than Adamant. The main use for Jolly Medicham in UU used to be the scarf set (which guaranteed to outspeed Crobat, Jolteon, +1 Feraligatr and such). I would think most wallbreaker Medichams will run Adamant in NU as well (the set we're looking at with Life Orb) From your calcs, pure ghost and pure psychic seem to be the most relevant mons to handle Medicham as we thought Now about UU, Bronzong being gone is very worrying to me. 2nd most used mon in the tier as we speak, and a glue in stall and balanced playstyles. The latter was already suffering from recent changes and borderline unviable. Even more worrying, the viable mons with highest winrates in UU were already : Gigalith (4.3% usage, 61% WR), Quagsire (4.1% / 58% WR), Tentacruel (7.9% u, 57.7% WR), Hippowdon (7.6% u, 56% WR), Donphan (14% u, 56% WR) and a bit further away Sigilyph (5.9% u, 56% WR) all of which benefit GREATLY from Bronzong being gone. To these mons we can add the recently trending Ninjask, Ambipom, as well as older threats such as Flygon, Cloyster, Crobat, Rhyperior, Durant, PorygonZ ... Bronzong single handedly (you could add the much less used Forretress to this argument) forced specific coverage on a lot of Pokemon, such as Roserade, Ambipom, Sigilyph, Xatu, Flygon, Druddigon, Bisharp (Iron/Sucker/Psycut best set in theory without Bronzong) and so on ... It has always been one of the few mons capable of soft checking pretty much every Dragon Dancer and threaten them with Gyroball, preventing certain team archetypes to prevail. It also was capable of winning a duel against most defoggers (except the specific taunt defog roost Mandibuzz or any Heatom) and spinners to be a powerhouse of hazard control in UnderUsed. I know this change is based on usage hence fair, I can simply warn that some mons might become too centralizing or too hard to punish for most teams now that our favorite bell is gone. Rest in peace

  16. I'm totally on the same board as @ArtOfKilling. The meta became so atrocious I'm kinda glad I don't play anymore (it's probably healthier for me). I agree with pretty much everything Art said. However, I'm thinking about going actually few steps forward instead of looking back at Gallade once again- we are at the point where all tiers are broken and OU is the absolute worst tier I have ever seen aside from VGC16. Instead of nerfing and attempting to balance, I would start bringing gamebreaking mons onto the table and think about bringing back Draco meteor Hydrei + SD Garchomp. And by gamebreaking mons I mean things like Terrakion, Thundurus-T, Victini from offensive side and the regenerator bullshit from defensive (Alo + Slowpoke evo line + Tangrowth). That's just my opinion- especially when we got several events coming up soon (anniversary + halloweed + xmas + chinese new year) which can help in distributing the mons themselves. Just don't give us Lando-T yet I guess

  18. The thing is mixed Toise with Shell EQ Surf has to pick between HP Electric for Mantine and other waters (Milo, Slowking, Vapo) or Ice Beam for dragons and grass (Drudd, Altaria, Sceptile, Lilli ...) Seems like a big 4MSS to have. Doesn't seem free against balanced/defensive teams, the big question being how do you revenge it, but the issue was more or less the same in UU tbh and NU has a few decent priority users as well

  21. Did this last night just watching the usage but here are my thoughts right now of what could happen: You can definitely test Medicham to an extent. At the end of the day, its going to rely on predicts and to me it looks like we got our new Blaziken except we won't see mixed ones. tho I would opt for banning Medi and letting Veonomoth drop. Venomoth: My instant reaction was that it might get banned but that may not be the case so just wanted to show some calcs if you were curious. Milotic: is finally going to get some love. Nice mon honestly. It can range from being a massive tank and can go offensive if you want to abuse Competitive. Blastoise: 100% a test. Again we have to wait and see what will be the standard set and I'm going to assume it will have to be some mixed shit with EQ for Lanturn. but def worth testing. ED: Blastoise has to choose what to cover with his last two move slots after main stab Surf so I think we will have a good chance of dealing with this rather than the other two that may be dropped. EX for Mixed: SS, EQ, Surf, HP Electric [You hit Lanturn, Qwilfish, Quagsire, Mantine but miss out on hitting Altaria, Druddigon, Grass types like Sceptile with Ice Beam] Ex 2 for Modest - SS, Surf, Ice Beam, HP Grass [You are able to hit Grass types, Dragons, Waters eg: Quag/Slowking but miss out on doing more dmg to Lanturn/Qwilfish/Mantine]

  23. Introduction A few weeks ago I got an idea to make a team builder specific to PokeMMO. Since I have a bad habit to not get ideas out of my head until I do them, here is the result of my work so far. (Please note that I do expect it to not look as good on mobile browsers. Some improvements need to be done there.) Since this was made from scratch there are bound to be mistakes. Please feel free to let me know anything that I should fix. I am quite burned out on this at the moment so I may not add any of the bigger planned features anytime soon, but I will do my best to address quick fixes. I may need to think of a way to gather data on PokeMMO and have it in one place before starting any more projects, this was quite exhausting but hopefully some people find it useful or interesting. Link: https://pokemmotb.gamer2020.net/ What has been done? Item Explanation Save/Load Teams Local Storage in the web browser is used to save/load the teams. (I don't want to deal with accounts.) Import/Export Pokepastes You can import/export teams with the Showdown/Pokepaste format people are already used to. Only PokeMMO Pokemon Only the Pokemon in PokeMMO are selectable. I also did my best so they only have the moves they learn in PokeMMO. Only PokeMMO Items I did my best to only include the items available in PokeMMO. Hidden Power Type Selection Click on the type to change the Hidden Power Type. Alpha Toggle You can select if a Pokemon is Alpha. Evolutions missing egg moves. All egg moves should be up to date. What is planned/Needs fixing? Item Explanation Multiple attacks in one line support In the pastes you can have multiple attacks in one line to handle different attack options. This is currently not accounted for. Example: Water Gun/Surf Export/Upload to pokepast.es Seems like a useful feature. I need to look into adding this. Add Happiness field. Realized this one late in development. I should add it but I like how the page looks like right now. Improve Default Gender If a gender is not specified Male is used. This doesn't work with Pokemon that can't be Male and you then have to select a Gender. Team Analysis I want to add a tab with generated info about the imported team. Like what type weaknesses the team has and stuff like that. Make it look better on mobile The great thing about a website is that most people can access it but the issue is that there are so many mobile screen sizes. I need to improve the appearance of the site on mobile. Reported/Suggested that has been addressed. Item Explanation Nothing yet... Nothing yet... Reported/Suggested that need to be addressed. 25. I'd have to disagree. Is a big deal to exchange Trick Immunity for passive recovery. And slowbro's recovery capability was hit already due to PP nerf. ======== And seriously, no one is talking about milotic dropping?

  26. After leaving the new area of Chengdu, the feeling of using items such as gold coin talismans and money for an hour is not enough. I hope to produce props for an hour and a half or two. If a gift mall offers gold coin bonus monthly cards or holds items, it feels good to have a gold coin bonus category. Otherwise, every time a gold coin talisman is issued, it feels like time is running out.

  32. I really pushed for this new movement system and I'm very happy TC decided to implement it. This is the first cycle where 2 seperate cutoff points are used for movements and I understand if it looks like at first glance there are still too many movements and disruptions. However, I would like to point out that if we were still using the old system, we would have had even more movements. On top of everything already dropping to NU, we would also have Zoroark, Swampert and Feraligatr moving down. And on top of everything already rising to UU, we would also have Mantine moving up. We still have to deal with a lot of shitty instability, but it's still progress and better than what could have been imo.

    How to farm PP Max

Ted's extensive guide on how to farm PP Max This guide is for one character, if you wanna plant on more characters just take the numbers I will give you and multiply them. I highly recommend reading the guide entirely before getting into it to see and compare the benefits from various ways of farming it. First of all, I will assume you got some kind of basic berry knowledge, I'll try and cover as much as possible with this guide but if you feel you don't know enough about berries yet imma leave you a link to basic berry guide: With that said let's begin the guide, what is PP max and how to get it: So now that u know how to craft it let's talk about how to get each of the components we need for the craft We're gonna start with the much simpler and easier to get one: The white herb. How to get battle points: Now for the berry powder: Now we going to get into the actual berry farm, we'll cover which berries to plant, when to water, and when to pick up. These are the berries we're going to be planting for max profit: Quick note, you can check my custom strings for a faster interaction, but these strings are not beginner friendly so use at you own risk: Berry planting and watering: Now that we covered the hard work it's time to harvest those deserved berries and crush all of them unless you wanna keep some for PvP or something. How many herbs will I need approx? Time to turn the bad bois into PP max: Now just sell them or keep them for yourself if that's what you please. Now that we know how to make the entire process it's time to talk about real numbers. How much does it cost to produce/how much pokeyen I need to get started: And now for the big question, how much will I be earning? With all that said, hope it helped, you learnt something new or you enjoyed it, if you still got any questions feel free to post your doubt and I'll be glad to help. Happy farming, Ted is out for now ^^.

  41. Special thanks to @Robombol for promotional artwork 中国用户,请访问此链接 HeartGold/SoulSilver The Johto region is now available, featuring a new storyline with several bosses to challenge This region requires a HeartGold/SoulSilver ROM to function. Players who have already installed these ROM files for visual changes don't need to do anything. For Johto, disobedience works separately from your badge count. While badges will increase your disobedience level along your journey, other key storyline events can too. You'll receive a notification when your disobedience level changes and you can always check it in your Trainer Card. To start this region's adventure, create a new character or visit the Ferry Captain in your current region Apricorns can be found in this region. These can be used to create several new classes of balls: Moon Balls may be crafted for $1,000 + a Yellow Apricorn. These offer 4.0x catch rate for species trees which can be evolved with a Moon Stone. Fast Balls may be crafted for $1,000 + a White Apricorn. Love Balls may be crafted for $1,350 + a Pink Apricorn. They offer an 8.0x catch rate for encounters which are of the same species tree, but of the opposite gender. These don't work against genderless species. Level Balls may be crafted for $1,350 + a Red Apricorn. These offer a 4.0x catch rate for targets which are the same level as your active party member's. Voltorb Flip is a minigame which can be found in the Goldenrod Game Corner Players who win Level 8 of this minigame will receive an exclusive reward Special encounters can occur when using Headbutt on trees in Johto. Once disturbed, these trees will need to be left alone for a while before a new encounter can occur. Mt. The National OT Dex requirement only applies to species which are normally visible. It does not include special monsters which are time-limited, such as Shaymin, nor overworld legendary events.
