*African Nations refers to the alliance between all countries within the continent of Africa.

**LATAM refers to the alliance between the following countries: Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile & República Dominicana.

***Central America refers to the alliance between following countries: Nicaragua, Panama, El Savador & Costa Rica.

Based on the donations received, the first 14 teams selected are:

1. Argentina

2. Ecuador

3. China North

4. Brazil

5. Mexico

6. Spain

7. Cuba

8. Belgium

9. Australia

10-12. Canada

10-12. USA

10-12. Venezuela

13. Peru

14. Colombia

 

The 8 following teams have not been directly selected, but will be invited to compete in one of two qualifiers tournaments:

  1. Germany / Time Zone UTC+2
  2. China South / Time Zone UTC+8
  3. Vietnam / Time Zone UTC+7
  4. Central America / Time Zone (UTC-6 / UTC-5)
  5. South Korea / Time Zone UTC+9
  6. Portgual / Time Zone UTC+1
  7. African Nations / Time Zone (UTC+0 / UTC+1 / UTC+2 / UTC+3) 
  8. LATAM / Time Zone (UTC-4 / UTC-3)

Eastern Qualifier - August 20th @ 10 AM UTC - KANTO Silph Co Channel 4 - Randomized Single Elimination Bracket

 

Western Qualifier - August 20th @ 6 PM UTC - KANTO Silph Co Channel 4 - Randomized Single Elimination Bracket

 

The winner of each qualifier will be selected. If a team doesn't show up with enough players to participate, any team that hasn't participated in a qualifier yet can take their spot. If two teams wish to switch spots, they can. The only eligible players to participate in these qualifiers are the ones names previously.

 

Teams will face off against each other in 3 tiers:

  1. OU
  2. Captain Choice of the First Team (OU/UU/NU/Dubs/LC)
  3. Captain Choice of the Second Team (OU/UU/NU/Dubs/LC)

Teams that do not get selected at all will be put on the reserve list in order based on their performance in the qualifier tournaments and their donations. If by August 27 (the half way point of the player registration) a team is at risk of not getting the minimum of 6 players to compete in this World Cup, this team will be replaced by the first team on the reserve list. On August 27, unselected teams will have their donations returned. The player registration thread will be opened following the qualifier tournaments.

Team Portugal has informed me they will not participate in the Qualifiers.

 

If a team from the Eastern Qualifier wants to take their spot, please let me know. You can't change back if you decide to switch spot.

 

If there is a qualifier with a bye, the bye will be given to the team that donated the most in that specific qualifier.

We have 16 selected teams that will be divided into 4 pools. Pools creation will start on August 31st.

 

Argentina, as the defending champion from WC5, will be the first team of Pool A.

China, as the champion from WC4, will be the first team of Pool B.

Belgium, as the champion from WC3, will be the first team of Pool C.

Brazil, as the champion from WC1, will be the first team of Pool D.

 

Argentina will choose 1 of the 12 remaining teams to join Pool A.

China will choose 1 of the 11 remaining teams to join Pool B.

Belgium will choose 1 of the 10 remaining teams to join Pool C.

Brazil will choose 1 of the 9 remaining teams to join Pool D.

 

The team chosen by Argentina will then choose 1 of the 8 remaining teams to join Pool A.

The team chosen by China will then choose 1 of the 7 remaining teams to join Pool B.

The team chosen by Belgium will then choose 1 of the 6 remaining teams to join Pool C.

The team chosen by Brazil will then choose 1 of the 5 remaining teams to join Pool D.

 

and so on...

 

The objective here is to spread out our 4 WC Champions into different pools with a draft system designed to balance out each pool.

I like the overall idea, but I'd prefer snake draft instead of Argentina picking first every round.

This way the worst team of every picking round ends up in the group of Argentina and the best ones in the group of Brazil.

 

This would make Group D the hardest and Group A the easiest.

You're right. I'm going to make it a snake draft instead. I'm also thinking of starting the draft sooner (August 27) than what I first announced in order for teams to have more time to think about their choice.

I think there is a misunderstanding.

 

You need to pick one of the following teams to join your pool (Pool A): USA / Mexico / Africa / Cuba / Spain / Ecuador / Germany / Canada / Venezuela / Colombia / Peru /Australia

Argentina has chosen to compete against Australia  in Pool A.

China has chosen to compete against Germany in Pool B.

 

Pools Creation Draft will continue in the next few days.

@Mkns1070 please pick a team to compete against in Pool C.
