  1. Our TC members ladies and gentlemen! Trying to create a fair and fun meta for every style right? ? Uh no, "due time" is several months lmao. Because of how stupid the tiering and banning system is we will have to endure a full season of an unplayable tier (probably longer) because there's a policy of not banning within a season. Some examples of broken shit staying in a tier for a very long time ( can't give exact times for all since I don't remember but its at least 3 months for some 9 months for others): SD Garchomp Draco Hydrei NU Durant NU Venomoth NU Roserade UU Porygon2 UU Haxorus UU Porygon-Z NU Dugtrio And some others which I will have forgotten. So yeah, it isn't a problem for you dead TC members who don't touch the game. But for those who play regularly and enjoy this game 3 - 9 months of an unplayable tier will be a problem.

  5. I just lost a duel because of the 60 mins time limit rule. After 20 mins, the duel was over, but because it was 4v5, my opponent had this artificial win condition (because of the time limit rule) that allowed him to win if he survived for 60 mins. So the rule that is designed to prevent endless stalling encouraged my opponent to stall an unwinnable game. I understand the need for a rule to prevent tournaments from lasting forever, but that doesn't mean the rule needs to reduce the game to something as simple as whoever has the most mons would have won. There are many ways to make the 60 mins time limit rule better: 1. Instead of looking first at the number of mons alive and then at the sum of % of hp on these mons, why not look at these two criteria at the same time? The number of mons alive is an arbitrary value that does not really reflect who is the most likely to win. For this reason, the following formula would be better imo: (sum of the HP% of all mons of player 1) x (number of mons alive of player 1) vs (sum of the HP% of all mons of player 2) x (number of mons alive of player 2) I do not see why the number of pokemon alive should be a criteria more important than the % of hp of all mons. There are tons of scenarios where the number of pokemons alive is more important than the % of hp of all mons and there are also tons of scenarios where the % of hp of all mons alive is more important than the number of pokemon alive. Looking at both criteria at the same time rather than one and after the other gives a much better picture of who is the most likely to win in stall matches. 2. At 55 mins, both players could get the option to extend the 60 mins limit for an extra amount of time. In the event, the player that chooses to extend the time limit loses, this player ends up with a big penalty (money penalty, temporary tournament ban, etc.) Temporary tournament bans are already common practice for bad sportmanship on the ladder, so I think it would be more than fair for people that would abuse extensions. 3. The following suggestion is quite complex and requires probably more thoughts, but it can somewhat work imo: (Total dmg inflicted by Player 1 / Total HP recovered by Player 2) x (# of pp left of Player 1) vs (Total dmg inflicted by Player 2 / Total HP recovered by Player 1) x (# of pp left of Player 2) This formula is based on the assumption that, with all the PP used in 60 mins, Player 1 was able to inflict a certain amount of permanent dmg and whatever amount of PP remaining for Player 1 reflects on the amount of permanent dmg Player 1 will be capable of inflicting long term. I do not believe any of these suggestion will be able to predict perfectly who the winner should be long term, but determining the winner based on these suggestions would be more accurate imo.

  6. the amount of excuses they come up with just to keep the dead members, too bad I'm friends with the old folks through main/alt, or they're part of my team right, logging in just for the sake of logging and getting afk kicked isn't being active. My main concern isn't exactly about lucario, but what the tier is becoming with it, people already complain that pory2 is very centralizing as a whole due to sheer bulk and offensive potential aswell. People also complain that in order to fully check PZ you need to pack 2 to 3 dedicated checks (through ghost types + steel types and whatnot), yet there's little to no voice from the TC around them, or why they're inclined to keep them and now they drop this bomb, which Havsha already went through the trouble of providing a multitude of calcs regarding as to why he'll be a huge meta threat. edit: although funny enough, it feels like lucario, can provide a check to either of them. Granted it's still a speed tie to PZ and that he can't come in ever even on tri attack without losing upwards of 82% hp (if modest specs), if it's specs or LO but still arguably able to check/pressure on entry.

Thank you so much for your time and patience, this is extremely rewarding to host with so many spectacular people joining and showing what they are capable of. Building a team around Dragon types was a big challenge, a lot of expected counters made a well deserved appereance and as we advanced into the Tournament less and less Dragons were able to keep up the pace. Still, I'm grateful for you support and teambuilding abilities, I'll make sure to play again with these rules in the future. The initial Group Phase was wild, we managed to pull 16 battles in less than 2 hours and that's all thanks to you being ready when I called you out to play.   8. This implies that you had the duel in your advantage after 20 mins. But you couldn't finish it within 60 mins. That doesn't really sound like an advantage then.

  9. I don't see how average hp is any less arbitrary is the the thing. Just because your doing a bit of math doesn't make picking a winner more accurate. Number of pokemon at least encourages players to attack to try and get the advantage as appose to average hp which encourages healing and further stall. And sure in your situation where your opponent already had the advantage he can just park the bus, but really thats already the point of stall anyway so nothing really changes.

Not because the meta is forced to change does it mean that they will make it chaos, it does not even take a suspect to realize how chaotic it will be in the UU, that's why they vote for the quick ban, something that the tc should do, even so the members of the tc said that it is not broken and that it deserves a suspect, despite the fact that the active community has already given their opinion about fucking that it will be this in the level, not to mention that for a suspect it lasts months and we will probably have to smoke about 3 -9 months to finally give an opinion, good thing, anyway the comment of people who have not played actively for years is worth more than those who have been actively playing the current meta.

I'll repeat my comments about Alakazam moving down to NU: On first glance, they share similar stats to Espeon, which can already be a troublesome Pokemon in the tier (life orb set can deal serious damage to a lot of Pokemon with its varied coverage moves, but does get pressured by Sucker Punch and/or Pursuit Absol and Houndoom) (The following Pokemon are both 3x31 2x30 with 6 HP, 252 SP ATK, 252 SPEED and Timid nature) Alakazam also has access to a wider movepool compared to Espeon, for example Focus Blast, which can deal with Pokemon like Steelix, Escavalier and Clefable which Espeon was unable to. If people provide me with 'Dugtrio' as the answer to dealing with Alakazam, it then emphasises mine and other people's statement that this Pokemon has had a negative influence in the tier and is deemed too unhealthy. My other question follows to this - why would Alakazam be allowed in the tier when Roserade is likely to still be banned? ------ I've expressed my desire already to ban Dugtrio from NU, and I can agree with people's points about P2 being banned in UU - however if Porygon2 is banned then I also propose that Porygon-Z is banned as well (Porygon-Z completely changed the meta shift more than Porygon2 with more Bronzongs, Gigaliths, Empoleons, Porygon2s, Spiritombs and Mismagius) With Heracross moving up to OU, we're going to be lacking in fighting types bar Medicham - having said that, I think it's pretty obvious to say why Lucario going down will be too broken for UU and would propose an insta ban or at the minimum a suspect test for the first month. My final statement emphasises this question - why is Roserade still banned if Alakazam will be allowed to drop down? I would either ban both or keep them both.

  30. Having an advantage doesn't mean that the game has to be finished within a specific period of time. When you are running certain kinds of stall that are passive, and are maybe facing opposing stall, these duels will take longer to finish. You can perhaps beat your opponent because you have "pressure" as your ability on most mons, and as a result you can deplete your opponent's PP and win, but that's a strategy that takes time and can also be delayed by the opponent simply switching about (only after a certain time limit do you not get time back for switching about). -------------- I do agree with gb that the current rule needs some modification because it allows undeserving folks (people who weren't able to win the game at all) to advance, which isn't fair. That being said, I don't think an automated decision should always be made in such a situation. I think staff intervention is necessary as the staff can then extend the battle for 5 min longer if the staff feels that the game can be completed within a certain period of time, or staff can determine who the winner should be by evaluating the situation (need to have comp knowledge) and that way determine if another player is engaging in bad faith where they are trying to advance by relying on the timer because there is no other way to do so. It doesn't seem that farfetched to me because showdown tours are hosted by actual people who preside over the entirety of the tour and they can always consult with another staff team (tournament director team) if they need assistance with making a decision. This also used to be the case in MMO before automated tournaments became the norm.

  42. Hi! I LOOOOVE THIS MOD A LOT, so I was thinking if I can make my own follower mod that only replaces on Pokemon's follower sprite. But I don't have a clue on how to do that(besides the xml because thatpart is easy!). IS it ok if you can make a tutorial or something that can guide me through this? I would appreciate it a lot if you or anyone can guide me! Thanks!

    [MOD] HD items

    The mod update is ready, I prepared it during the last PTS but in this version the are some "bugs" that not appeared in the last PTS, the sprites work different for 48x48 items and don't resize correctly in some cases like: -48x48 items don't resize to 24x24 in the bag tabs -48x48 items resize different to 24x24 than GBA versions and PTS and they looks worse. They don't resize correctly -Custom sprites in menu bar don't colored correctly when mouse isn't over it. This bug appeared in the last PTS as well -Mod icons look strange I will wait next updates if there are mod fixes to launch this version. English is not my language I hope the text is correct, is difficult for me writing it. Thank you for your support and patience.
