  1. a +2 adamant orbed wallbreaker wallbreaks. What was even the point here? If anything, this shows how extremely biased the metagame and this community's mentality is towards a much more defensive gameplay to the point where they complain a wallbreaker does, in fact, break walls once set up. The only argument that could be said is no longer relevant. Sharpness shouldn't be nerfed to a random boost unused in original games. If it is too strong, it should be outright banned or at least nerfed to some common grounded value. It is not too strong. Its numbers aren't that impressive either. Period. People refusing to adapt shouldn't warrant any ban or any decision whatsoever.

  3. This makes no sense considering the difference in damage between 1.4 and 1.5 is less than half of the range of a roll. Yes, 1.5 > 1.4. But you cannot possibly convince me a Pokemon suddenly getting a 7% damage boost jumps from not worthy discussing besides opening the pandora box to nerfing in general to borderline broken.

  5. The PvP Statistics page is one of the most useful data resources in the game for people trying to get into competitive play, or for existing competitive players who need to analyse the metagame. However, when using the PvP Statistics page, I can't help but feel that the amount of information being displayed is lacking. I expect this is a common feeling for a lot of competitive players. I suggest that the following data should be collected and displayed on the menu to improve it even further: Top Moves Example Taken from Pikalytics.com (VGC 2023 Ranked Statistics) What moves should a Pokemon have? This is such an important decision for every player to consider, Pikalytics lists it as the most relevant PvP statistic next to stat distribution! In my own favourite meta, Doubles, it's really important to know if a Pokemon should use the move Protect, especially for newer players, as they would typically be used to using movesets from the singles format. Tournament vs Matchmaking Usage Data What works well in matchmaking may not work as well in tournament settings. This is currently recognized by the fact that usage% is listed as either in matchmaking or tournament, which varies for some Pokemon (e.g Rotom-Heat is currently used in 2% of Doubles matchmaking teams, and 5.56% (nearly 3 times as much) of tournament teams), so it would be beneficial to know the reasons for differences in player choices when preparing for matchmaking or tournaments. Again, Pikalytics has this option available for all players to see. Usage Data from Top #100 Matchmaking Players Usage data from the top players would be a really interesting set of statistics. Again, for the Doubles format, lots of new players are going to be using their OU teams, which means that some popular OU Pokemon are typically ranked higher in usage% than in win% for Doubles (*cough* garchomp *cough*), so a separate set of usage data from the top #100 players may prove to be beneficial for people new to the metagame. It would also be very useful for top players to analyse shifts in the metagame at the highest level of play! It might even be worth thinking about implementing usage data from the top cuts of Tournaments, too. Common EV Spreads Another popular data set, Common EV Spreads are a great way to know how to prioritise stat distribution for pokemon for which it isn't obvious. For example, how many HP EVs should you invest in Rotom-Wash if it only has 50 base HP - but you also want to invest in Speed and Special Attack? Having this information readily available would be really great for players who are learning the metagame. That's all I can think of for now! I hope this suggestion can make PokeMMO a much more accessible game to get into competitively for newer players, and for top players to refine their game 🙂 I'd also love to know your suggestions! Particularly from the singles format, as I don't have much experience with it, and I'd love to know what would be useful for you! Thanks, Rakhmaninov

    About Event Raids

Alright guys first of ally my bad for my horrible english, im gonna try to tell something about those raids event. Let me be honest, this time the developers had a great idea to add raid mode into the game for the first time ever. What are raids? Raids aren't your typical Gym battles. This opponent is more difficult to defeat than most other Pokémon. Raids include different difficulty levels: level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4 and level 5. Our developers had the idea of adding this mixed mode between Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet raids. The various effects that raids cause during challenges are all normal, because they follow the original game itself For example, if after having maxed out your physical attack the raid activates the "heal pulse" effect, which resets all the statistics, rest assured, it's the same thing on scarlet and violet too. So there's no point in crying because you can't do the raids, because that's the beauty of these challenges, they don't have to be too simple, it's up to us to ultimately understand how to defeat them and what type of tactics to use. stop crying, use your head a little. There's no point in creating useless posts, just because you can't do the raids, I managed to do all 12 of them in solo matchmaking. Also done with my secondary accounts, struggling a lot, but not because of the raids, but because of you who use Pokemon randomly without thinking about a minimal strategy. I've even seen people use pokemon like steelix, excadrill and other fire or earth types against gyarados' raid. If you use a little brain, I'm sure you could do the raids without any problems. You don't need Pokemon with 5x31 stats, I've only used Pokemon with horrendous stats, and passed every single raid without any problem, even after several attempts in some, but I wrote the reason above. Now stop crying and get busy, thanks, stop creating cringe posts. git gud everyone who comes to complain.

  9. Gallade was unnerfed in the same update that added the legendary birds, I guess devs may have thought Zapdos would be helpful to deal with Gallade and wanted to test it again. Since Gallade was deemed banworthy with a x1.5 Sharpness boost before the release of Zapdos I suggest discussing how Zapdos affected Gallade in the tier because it's the only thing that changed. A confirmation from devs or TC would be needed though because right now it's uncertain if Gallade can be banned again or not. Personally, I would ban Sharpness from Singles as an ability that makes Gallade an Offensive Uber, it wouldn't even be a complex ban because only Gallade has this ability. Gallade would still be usable in lower tiers and Sharpness Gallade would still be present in Doubles.

  10. "You don't play the tier" is not an argument as you do not know what another player does or doesn't do and only pushes players away from wanting to comment on the thread, please leave these types of arguments out of the discussion. Go after their logic/arguments, not what you think they do or don't play. I will be removing posts that base there arguments off of these types of statements in the future.

  11. Cloyster won't do it for several storylines- there are some 3v3 battles in Johto and Sinnoh where Cloyster just simply won't do it, I tried it xD For Kanto all you would need is a Starmie. It's generally the absolute best pokemon for altruns overall- make it Modest with max spatk and speed, give it TBolt, Ice Beam, Surf and Psychic (Psyshock would've been *much* better but unfortunately it does not get passed through breeding), mow down the storyline and you can re-breed the mon itself. For Johto and Sinnoh, I typically use Krooko + Exca + Starmie. For Ho-oh fight, Krooko and Exca hold Rawst berries. Lately I've figured that it might be better to just keep 2 mons on the level cap for the Ho-oh fight and transfer them before the fight itself. Starmie clears entire storyline all by itself anyway For Hoenn unfortunately Starmie won't do 😞 I used to run Hoenn with Gallade, though but a little more about this mon below. Other great pokes include Krookodile (amazing pokemon for clearing E4), Excadrill with HA (clears the sturdy fights), PoryZ, Medicham or Gallade. Gallade is capable of solo-ing Kanto, Hoenn and Unova thanks to it's monstrous damage boost from Sharpness (I used Sacred Sword, Night Slash, Leaf Blade and Psycho Cut), but it's expensive to re-breed as it can only breed with Ditto, and you need to re-moveset it for each storyline. Cloyster, Mold Breaker Haxorus and Pinsir are also great options, especially Pinsir thanks to it's good attack/speed and no need to use any items to evo it. Haxorus is a very common pokemon for alts, but I'm not fond of it because it evolves late. Unova is disgusting, don't run it if you value your mental health

  17. 1.5x is its original value. Having sharpness at 1.5x is therefore expected. The issue arised when they began changing basic mechanics to better fit their perception of the metagame, opening unwarranted precedents in the future no one asked for. Sharpness shouldn't have been nerfed to an arbitrary number. I agree with this. But we are beyond that now, and regardless of whether it made sense or not, we gained information upon its nerf. Sharpness was tested at 1.3x, and Gallade dropped hard, pretty much showcasing how much its fears were overblown out of proportions. Then it was tested at 1.4x. It still didn't have any negative impact in the tier, which was the only reason why Sharpness was reverted back to its original value. They shouldn't have done this, but they did, and neither do you nor I have time machines to prevent what already happened. The best thing we can do is analyze what these nerfs showcased and how relevant these nerfs are in the first place. 1.4x to 1.5x is very negligible. If the Pokemon is an issue now, it would have be an issue then, and yet it wasn't. Not even in the slightest. This is not a Gallade issue whatsoever. This is what happens when there is no transparency in most of their decisions regarding new stuff added into the game. This is something they apparently are willing to slowly change for the best, but this isn't a conversation to have in this thread. This can't be more objective at all. Gallade went through 2 different nerfed variants in the format. It failed to have any impact in both. None of these are suppositions, or what ifs, or yada yadas. This happened very recently, and so far no one gave me a solid enough argument as to why a 7% boost in its sharpness moves is enough to turn an overall average Pokémon into the monster some people claim it to be. You ask me to calculate. Why? Calculations are used to follow-up an argument. They aren't the argument at all, despite what some people choose to believe. One can give me different calculations, and yet miss the most fundamental aspect of them all. How often can that Pokémon force the enemy giving up into that position? How often can the selected move be spammed while minimizing prediction risks? How often is that Pokémon on the field, and once it is, what are the requirements for it to be in there in the first place? And honestly, lots of other factors, because competitive Pokémon lurks deeply into a complex grey area. A bunch of calculations will never be able to answer this properly, and I really expect people to actually start using them more sparringly, or in tandem with proper arguments for them. Either way, we literally had the most objective metric for its viability, and it failed miserably at showcasing how good it should be even with a 1.4x boost. I will repeat once more. A 7% damage boost is not significant enough to turn that Pokémon into something truly problematic, therefore, if it didn't prove to be an issue then, it most likely is not an issue now. Finally, the format is even better equiped at dealing with Gallade now than it was then. We gained access to Zapdos, which even though is not the perfect answer, or whatever people like to use to feel comfortable in a game that shouldn't have them in the first place, is solid enough to control Gallade properly.

  18. I'm down for more information on mons, altho what we have is already great ! But a feature I'd like to see in that situation, would be to prevent any forms of statistics to display if less than (X players & Y matches played) used that mon. The reasoning is simply that such a feature could be a big negative for people who bring niche undertiered mons to ladder as it risks of leaking their entire EV spread & Moveset on top of their item and nature (which can already be scoutted from statistics) I also believe that usage data from above 600 elo (UU/NU/Dubs) / above 700 elo (OU) is necessary for tiering decisions and should be used over all usages, but that's a personal opinion
    3 points
  19. I don't know how this went so under the radar with how good, comprehensive and NECESSARY this suggestion is. We have a somewhat big problem when assessing a lot of PvP decisions regarding bans, movement between tiers and whatnot because the stats page is absolutely flawed and gathers data from everything, from Jimmy with his Relaxed HM slave Dragonite to top elo players. I know it's probably not a top priority, but please do improve the stats page so we can build better teams and learn about PvP in a much more comprehensive way.

    About Event Raids

I managed to finish all 12 raids in solo matchmaking too, it was way more fun than following some guide or prepping the ultimate group/pokemon team would have been. I did get paired with people who were using under leveled mons/ hm slaves/ didn't even know how to use link chat xD. The skill &/ resource gap between new players and vets might be bigger than we realize. Some people don't even have the right mons to begin with and end up just entering raids with whatever mons they got. Its unfair to discredit their struggles because they cant do what you can easily do. At least for events it would have been nice if new players got an option to get standard random teams to beat some of the raids (ofc im assuming event raids were meant as a feature for everyone and not just end game players)
    3 points
  21. Let's face it guys, in the end raids are still just an AI Pokémon match wich just isn't that hard. Everyone with like 3 braincells should be able to do them. You don't even need comps for that. While the addition of matchmaking is fine for me (haven't used it tho) our player base should maybe consider to socialize and make friends to play the raids and start communicating before playing the raid, we are still playing a mmo.

No, it will keep the "bad" players in the "bad" players queue forever because they'll keep losing vs the raid boss constantly. Trying to gatekeep matchmaking between the "good" and the "bad" players is a terrible idea and shouldn't even be thought of.

  33. 29th Febuary is when the vote happens. I will let a final argument there before the vote in hopes of it being changed. Mainly will focus on telling why some arguments against the ban are wrong/flawed, and reiterate some of my past points. 1. People not telling that dugtrio is uncompetitive / telling that are on an acceptable degree of uncompetitiveness. This i've seen a little there. And i have to tell something: The conditions to met an acceptable degree of being uncompetitive is very high. Mostly i like to use the Abusing ways as a limiter. If you can abuse without heavily depend of opponent's actions and are uncompetitive, then it's bannable. Giving examples: - Magnet Pull is not bannable because you heavily depend of your opponent gets a KO with an steel type or stay with it on the field for too long. But teams bring often one or two steel types(You can't trap all the team) and can play around magnezone easily by pivoting , predicting and using Whrilwind/Roar for skarmory and empoleon, when he is switching on you , or using quake in case of Excadrill. Also, there is scenarios on your steel type won't get a KO or if gets, it will be done it's job and can die peacefully, or the KO of it it's actually benefical for you(You can after Magnezone gets a KO with HP Fire enter with nite and use DD for Free since Magnezone is prob locked.) - Serperior with Contrary, boosting evasion with defog, not bannable too, because to abuse you depend on your opponent mindlessy using defog on you, which 2 braincells prevent that easily. Only 550 Elo does that, and your hazard removal having Rapid Spin and not defog, throws this strat on the window. - However arena trap is far different. Your Flying-types and Levitates won't get all KOs on a match , eventually you has to go into grounded mons to get some KO and they may end trapped, either they does a slow pivot or sacrifice themselves to dug enter and trap the opposing mon. Also, at best you had 2 mons immune to trapping, and may had one or no mon, meaning you can have your entire team trapped depending on your team 2. Restricting Teambuild not being a problem People tells that there is no problem bring counters to dugtrio and adapt your teambuild. That if was before 2021 could be a possibillity, but currently is not. This i bringed on the post, and was commented before by @ArtOfKilling - "There is over 20 threats on OU right now and you can't build a solid 3 x 3 team that covers all of that". You has to be selective and choose which mons you can and can't cover, and you will obviously choose to cover the top used mons, being a bonus countering a lower one. Is 100% normal and that make Dugtrio very powerful, teams having absolutely nothing to cover dugtrio or at best one mon ready for him, without the intent for that mon to counter dug in the first place. And that's because of Dug's low usage. Mons with low usage, that has a decent niche on OU, ends up being very powerful due to that. 3. Precedents People forgot often about previous bans that can act later as precedents. Dugtrio is being asked to stay due to low usage, despite being uncompetitive. But, some years ago, they banned King's Rock and gets it nerfed. Why i'm talking about that ban in specific? Because KR was banned due to it being Uncompetitive, despite their low use. So, it's not fair to dugtrio not get banned if he gets the exact same precedents than an thing that was banned, uncompetitiveness despite low use. My opinion remains the same: Ban Dugtrio. There is nothing left to discuss.

Additionally I went through and made sure to align any sprites that looked funny in game atleast a bit. All credits with direct links to the source of the sprites can be found inside of the respective mods .zip file as credits.txt. Regional Forms: Paradox/Gmax Pokemon: Mega Pokemon: Special Pokemon: Install Instructions: For installation simply place the respective mods .zip file in Pokemmo/data/mods and activate the mod in the main menu. Make sure to move the mods in the load order to be below any other mods that may replace the same pokemon to avoid the conflicts.

  41. What is so hard to understand about the fact that if Gallade enters into something it threatens, you're almost guaranteed to lose a Pokémon on the switch, pretty similar to the problem Hydreigon created? It's not that people want to kill it by walling it, it's about the fact that nothing in the OU metagame can switch into it safely or without taking heavy damage that can then guarantee a KO from a teammate. And like gb said, it's not that there aren't a million calcs to prove what I said, it's that it's pointless to show you because you'll go on a tangent and completely miss the point even when confronted when objective truths like when you obsessed about Empoleon not being good because it's a UU mon. Any other mon I'd accept that there's room for discussion, but Gallade has been talked about and agreed upon it being too much for our current metagame with its coverage, its damage output and the availability of different builds. Which is what Godhelll was mentioning. And it's always people who don't understand the meta + don't play enough games at a high enough elo who think that a mon that basically forces you to lose a piece from your team no matter what is somewhat tolerable. Hydreigon had a million checks in the meta, and it had to go for this exact reason: on first encounter, you'd be almost always losing a mon to it due to how hard it hits; no matter if it was because it chipped your pivots enough so that others could take them, or if it was because its set was unknown until it made a move. 1,5x Sharpness has no place in this meta, period. 1,3x was fine since it more or less acted like Hustle in a way, 1,4x was a bit too much to take on some 2HKO scenarios. And this is the last time I'm gonna respond to your schizoposting about it because there's obviously no point in giving you any argument, you'll just derail and start yapping about how whatever niche mon six seasons ago was somewhat similar or something like that.

  44. For those complaining about the 'insane grind': Yes, that was a problem, that's why it was reduced. We copied the numbers without really thinking about it from Christmas, and that was our mistake. It should have been reduced a few days ago, but the major issues from this update took several days longer than expected to fix, and that pushed back any further development for the event itself. For those complaining about 'compensation': Sorry, but no. Your reward is more cherish balls, which you already got. For those complaining about how it's not good enough: Yep, I agree, but we were constrained for time due to the aforementioned issues. Unfortunately this event's development went on too long and we started running into scheduling conflicts, so we pushed what we had. It'll be better next year. For those complaining about Male/Female costume splits: We'll make a female-oriented one next year, but one of the core design decisions here is trying to make all clothing wearable by both character genders. This is how the game's always been. Since our artists' "bandwidth" is limited around events, that lends to costumes which try to look good for both genders.
